PpIf we brought in Tim Patrick, Chase Young, Kevin Zeilter and Mike Greski. Resigned Shelton, Pryor, Cris Williams, would that be enough before the draft.
-
I'm not sure great applies to Carter and Smith. Carter shows up and Trey was a little off. Both good players but not sure 23 mil to Trey may be well spent somewhere else. Milton Williams and Mecki Becton both had great games. Both are free agents. Philly can't pay both. We could sign Kevin Zeilter and Milton Williams for the 23-25 mil a year Trey Smith will get. We could sign M Becton and Cris Young for the same money as Trey Smith. Lots of options, free agency will determine who our first 3 picks are.

Campbell will definitely be moved inside. Some say his best position could be center. I like that idea but doesn't seem the #10 pick would be to early for a center. I like Jack Sawyer that should be available in the second round. Tough guy with an attitude. He's the player making the stink when Michigan players planted a flag on the field of that game. Our first 3 picks can fix the OL or DL. 2 out of three will go D or O. Needs to be on the OL. Simmons and Grabel would be good choices. Free agency will determine those picks. Lots of people talking about a RB , we have enough talent there in the new system to not use a top 50 pick on.

KC has one of the best coaches in the league and best QB, and got their a** kicked. Philly didn't even run the ball well. The QB made the difference, we now have one of them.

They're not trading assets to get a star, that's something teams do when they're one player away. They're a few must take players if they fall to them. Harmon, Carter, Banks and Campbell. If they're not there, a move back 5-10 spots and get an extra top 50 pick would be ideal. I would love Campbell and make him a center and draft a guard and tackle. 2 DL players and fill in with a RB and WR. I think Campbell would be a all pro center type. It would be great to grow with Caleb. As a LT, he called all the line plays for LSU. Great football IQ.

I think Poles thought he could throw a line together in his image. One first round pick and a fifth round development player. A few season vets and freak athletes that develop. Obviously it didn't work out. Now he will put high level assets together. Poles is here for the future, questioning him is valid but he ain't going anywhere.

Boron? Pryor and Martin will be minimum salary buy back. There will be an evaluation of players still here , there could be some keepers we don't think were any good. I think we draft 3 OL also but probably only one will be written in as a starter while the other are developed and waiting there turn. I hope a surprise pick like a Mbow could surprise and be a day one starter as a T conversation but that's probably wishful thinking. It would be nice is Stromberg stayed healthy and became a starter.

Have to give crede to anyone that lives over 100 and I don't think she has a lot of medical issues later in her life Good life.

I think he spends money on one FA and the rest value picks. The big spend could possibly be resigning Kyler Gordon. He's a valuable member of the defense. As far as OL Shelton played better than Dave Dalman and Ryan Kelly. I think we resign him with drafting his replacement. Jenkins is a risk but has high upside when healthy. We brought in Nate Davis after he had one good year, but we know how that turned out. If they can pay him on a per game incentive, he would still be valuable. We may be able to bring in someone with ties to our new coaches. Kevin Zeilter is old but still plays at a high level. I would prefer him to Trey Smith because of his contract and have a draftee behind him. If we end up with Braxton Jones back at LT that wouldn't be the worst situation. He has Kiran A. to compete with him. I think in the draft they draft Campbell or Banks but if not available, move back. Maybe Josh Simmons in the teens would be a better value with an extra 2 or 3. There are several OTs that could be moved to OC. Zabel, Membow, Mbow come to mind. If we can 2 combo players that can play anywhere, if would help us get the best five talents on the OL I also think Bill Murray could be a valuable backup if resign. He played well before he was injured. I would like to get Chase Young, not a stud but an upgrade for our team. He will only command 10-12 mil which won't kill our cap. Allen will have that info. There's a couple of players on the DL in Philly that could come on value deas. Tim Patrick seems like a no brainer as our 3rd WR. Maybe the new coaches can salvage Tyler Scott, he has a valuable tool, speed. People talk about a new RB. I don't think that will be a high priority. Everyone agrees the OL sucked but then complained the RBs weren't very good. The bad OL affected them to. I think they be the perfect combo for a Ben Johnson offense. They will add a third down back that could also return kicks so that person won't be in our first 4 picks. We overlook the fact we now may be a place some FAs want to be here which may play for less money. I predict. Kevin Zeilter /RG Tim Patrick/WR Chase Young /Edge Milton Williams/DT Resign Shelton, Jenkins, Pryor and Jacob Martin.

It would be great to add a stud but that is what teams do as the final piece. We are one year away from the final piece. We have to see the effect of the new coaches and if they elevate the play if players we have. Does Booker take off? Does Pickens advance? They aren't throwing them away until they force them to.

Allen had us moments last year but overall wasn't worth giving up a fourth and big money. We don't need to repeat that mistake. Is there any WRs that have ties to our coaching staff? Tim Patrick was with Ben last year and won't cost a lot of money. Haven't checked out the other ties yet

Poles may have questions about whether he is worth an extension but they had to add stability and stop the cycle of misaligned contracts. If Johnson doesn't have a problem with him, why should we.

We could upgrade the RB spot, we could draft a S in case Brisker career is short lived . We have 4 top 72 picks. Those picks need to address the OL and DL . We can get by with Johnson and Swift, we can get by Brisker,Byard, Owens and Hicks. We simply have to address the trenches. Free agency will fill a few needs.
-
I looked at the contract on OTC and his money for the next 3 years are 19.4 mil, 20.4 and 40 mil. His contract was all back loaded . Not sure on how the contract is structured but there dead money if traded is 36, 21 and 11 mil and 4 mil in 2029 . I have no idea how they figure who pays what but if I had to 72 mil out for 4 years of not playing for me, I'm not trading him . I seen mentioned 3 first round picks. But it's probably a mixture of 3 high picks of which is exactly what we need to fix our OL. No way they would do that.
-
If Banks or Campbell are there at 10 I think they take him and play with the second picks to get a stud DL. I wouldn't mind if they took Zabel with a second round pick either. Hopefully they move back and still get good value with extra picks. What they get in free agency will also determine who they pick high.
-
I don't think they draft a safety high. There always seems to be good vets available to fill that need. Byard has one more year left. Now if Brisker's career is over then that would change the need. Hicks is a playable backup,Owens is still here ( bad year)so I think they address S next year I think Swift will thrive in a Johnson system and Rohshon Johnson has some power. It's a deep draft at RB , I think they get a power guy for short yardage and can find him after the first 3 rounds.

Chicago Bears hiring Eric Bieniemy as RBs coach
Stinger226 replied to OmahaBear's topic in Bearstalk
Some people just don't have the personality to be a HC. Assistants have a small room to deal with and HC have to deal with the masses. He's a big catch for simple reason KC always put value in running and were successful. -
True but we don't have 4 first round picks to apply to the OL so getting a high end free agent replaces that void. No centers are high rated in the draft unless you get a position change player. If they don't draft a pick 10 OT we will have to place trust in Braxton playing better. A blue chip rookie could be the LG but that would have some growing pains. I think with the new blood injected in the process, we will get better results from however they put it together. We're not going to 25th to 5 th in one year no matter how they put it together.

Has anyone seen whether Cunningham was going to Jacksonville? I have seen a few mentions but don't know if it's true. It would be pick #100 if true.

Poles didn't completely ignore the OL. Wright was a high pick. He signed Davis last year that was above average but after the death of his mother, he didn't care anymore. Jenkins played well and he was giving him the last year to prove he could stay healthy. ( He didn't) Drafting Braxton Jones was a risk he took and thought he succeeded but he didn't get better this year. Drafted a future prospect in Kiran to develop if Braxton failed. Needed him this year but wasn't ready. Patrick and Whitehair failed last year so double dipped with Bates and Shelton at center. Bates was to injured and Shelton actually did okay. I think because he was a marginal player when he tried the NFL, he thought he could build a OL with some marginal free agents and Wright and Braxton. Several failures doomed the OL coming into the year. They are a few IOL that would be upgrades but will not come cheap. Trey Smith, Becton, and Dave Dalman.I think he tries to get one, resigns Shelton, Pryor and Bill Murray. Drafts a starting OT or OG( both ?) depending on how the draft falls. A center prospect to seat behind Shelton until he's ready. Example: Kelvin Banks - moves Kiran to LG- Shelton and a rookie - Trey Smith- Wright. Braxton, Pryor, Murray and 2 rookies for backups. Problem solved.

Doesn't anyone know he's been healthy at his current weight?

Detroit will still be a good team, but the fact Goff isn't a great QB and new coaches adjusting will take some time.
-
I read about him and last year gave up one sack and this year got hurt in the 6th game. Many draftniks said if not hurt would have been the top rated OT. I don't think the injury will prevent him from not going to training camps A 5 star recruit out of college

At least take a year to get back up to speed, they have a lot of talent there. Minny has to adjust to JJ becoming the QB and GB has a mediocre QB. It may be the perfect storm to get to the top of the division.
