We just have to see how this turns out. Actually we have 4 returning starters. We expect two new faces but maybe there's only one. KC completely changed their oline in one year. They signed Joe Tuney, traded for Orlando Brown, and drafted a starting OC and OG, in the 2nd and 6 th round respectively. What if he signs Train Turner for 1 year 5 mil., then brings in J C Tretter for a 2 year 19 mil. Then drafts Tyler Smith and Donovan West. Do we have a better line than last year?

Definitely will matter, don't always know the schemes teams use. I did read both Jensen and Allen fit the outside zone blocking scheme. I did read Daniels fits the new scheme. If Daniels doesn't get a 12 mil a yr contract offer in the first few days, we may in play at 8 to 9 mil per contract and play him at OC.. Lots of guards still out there. Keep in mind that Poles found a starting OC and RG in KCs draft last year. Round. 2 and 6.
-
The Ravens have resigned there backup OC but Bozeman is still available. Maybe we still can bring him in at a Brian Allen contract, 3 for 24.
-
There will be a lot of good players released going forward. If we did nothing until the draft we could still have a shot at some good players. We don't know how Poles eva ulated the Oline. He may be seeing what the market is for Daniels and thinks Mustifer has a chance to start. We may only need to add one starter and it may be in the draft.
-
Poles could made an offer for but didn't go that much. We got a core player in Larry, the one tier signing. I thought it would have OL . My two guys resigned with the SB champs, Noteboom and Allen, hard to compete with that. Both contracts would have been doable by Poles, but existing teams have an upper advantage.

Bears Sign Bengals DT Larry Ogunjobi (40M over 3 years)

I thought he would have one (tier one) signing but surprised it wasn't Oline. I don't for see any more fat contracts. -
Those are just Bears writers guessing a story. There might be one true but which one?

WRs I'm down with: That's realistic at our picks Pierce Watson Pickens Sky Moore Jahan Dotson Khalid Shakir Calvin Austin David Bell Eric Ezuksnma No Melton Danny Grey

Yes I read it I was agreeing with you.

juju on a 4 yr 34 mil deal. 7-8-9-10 with 17 guaranteed. so you could cut in third year if you want. Or a one year10 mil prove it deal.

Faalele doesn't fit what the outside blocking scheme suggests. 39 would be to early for him as far as value. Rainnman fits scheme but a late one or early two . He might be there. I think they address the oline in free agency and instead of looking for a starter early more of a developmental player in round. 5 or 6. I think they find a OG to replace Whitehair in a year or two to eliminate his big contract. A Cole Strange or Chris Paul. I tink they should go WR with two of there fi3 picks. Cheaper options instead of FA.
-
I think Whitehair stays at LG, OC and one OT will be new .Borom plays RT or RG, Jenkins LT or RT . Don't see us bringing back Daniels at 10 or above .
-
So all the top tier WRs are gone. 2nd level are all getting 2-4 mil more than their worth
-
I noticed that after I wrote it, I got the wrong round. Never edited it.
-
If they go with concept of best player available, most drafts had S and CB sitting there at 39. Sometimes Rainman fell , Zion would drop a lot. With all the WRs , there has to be one of the top 6_ sitting there. Pierce and Watson are always there . I would double down on 39 and 48 being WRs . Much cheaper developing them than buying them in FAgency.

I think Edwards and Kamara may be able to play there, but need add another. 3T.

Last year 6 WRs were paid over 10 mil in free agency Will Fuller Julio Jones Kenny Godaday Cutie Samuels Robinson and Godwin were tagged. Godwin was the only one to have a good year and he ended up getting hurt. Moral of the story: big contracts don't work out. We shouldn't pay anyone even Chark or Kirk a big contract. 4 rookie WRs had over 64 receptions in their first year. Chase.... D.Smith......J Waddle.... Amor-Ra St. Brown. We need to draft 2 wrs and a couple mid tier signings.
-
It only cost a 5th for Cooper but the problem is the 20 mil cap hit for the next 3 years.
-
Getting 3 picks in top 71 will get us three starters and I can see a few extra picks . If we can get 3 picks between 100-150 that would be awesome.
-
Don't see anymore trades before draft but expect one or two during draft.

We have several posts all related to Free agency and it starts Monday just going to keep it in one post. We signed a RB Darrynton Evans, let go by he Titans. He has great upside but was sidetracked by injuries. He has 4.41 speed. A high reward low risk player. We resigned 3 ERFAs, Mustifer.... Simmons....Horsted, I was surprised by Simmons coming back. Poles must think he has upside. With us trading Mack, we will either be bringing in a DE by draft or FA, or both. The Colt's have 3 free agents DEs. al-Qaeda Mohammad....Kemoko Turay....Thawing Lewis. Al-Qwas a 6th round pick, the other two second picks. I think one of those will be coming here as a edge prospect. Al-Q had 6. sacks last year, the I think he may be the one. I still think we resign some of our ownfree agents because of value. My prediction is: Jesse James Deon Bush DHC. He had a good year, he may be able to compete for SS . Pete O'Donnell Patrick Scales Alex Bars Jakeem Grant Blair Nichols and James Daniels are still up in the but inexpensive contracts could land them back here. Free agent signings prediction. Note.. young players with upside Al-Q Mohammad/DE... With Matt last yr Anthony Walker/MLB... Tutored under Matt Quinton Jefferson/3T...with line coach last yr, 6 sacks, 19 QB hits Karif Robinson/WR...speed Byron Pringle/WR....Poles in on drafting him Joseph Noteboom/LT ... Pay him for upside Brian Allen/OC... Chicago ties Zaire Franklin/LB. With Matt last yr Malik Hooker/SS... Matt had him for3 yrs, former1st rounder Mike Hughes/CB ....First rounder that never lived up to his draft status. Poles was his AGM Maxx Williams/TE.......TE coach Jim Dray coached him last year. 2 nd round pick

I originally would rip drafts that didn't have a high OL pick but I now think they will try to do it in free agency . They will draft a IOL with one of their 5th round pick to groove to take Whitehairs place next year. That will try to get out of the 12 mil a year. With Mack gone, I see them now drafting a high pick at pass rusher. I figure next year they will try to move on from Quinn. I think getting a stud 3T will add more for the pass rusher than another high prospect in the outside. The cupboard won't be bare with Gipson having a break out year, double digit sacks.
-
Weds is when Domino's start to fall , I think they have the money for one tier 1 player. Its either a WR or OL. I think up to 15 mil. So who is it. Chark or Kirk will be around 12 mil. The LTs will be to high. I think they try to get a core player that will be here 4 years. So the players in their 30s are out. There is only one available that is young, Joseph Noteboom at 27. Cam Robinson is tagged. Their are only 2 OCs that are young , Brian Allen and Bradley Boseman . The other option is resign Daniels and play him at OC. I think that will be our tier1 signing Allen, or Daniels. I hope they go after Noteboom. If they fix the Oline in free agency, they will draft a Oline prospect in the 5th to eventually take over for Whitehair. Also a OT project to build the line going forward. I think they go after Brian Allen. They will op out of bringing Daniels back.

Sometimes players just don't fit in, New surroundings gives a fresh start. Also a couple years of maturity helps. Why was Akin Hicks passed around his first few years and took off when we got him.
-
We go two deep at RB, definitely not a need, something else had to be there that filled a need of value. Late rounds wouldn't have bothered me but 131 could get a starter instead of e third string RB.
