  1. Monty is under contract he's not going anywhere. They will let it play out. Tonga can play NT , which is part of this scheme. I think they let Goldman, and Trevathan go. Blackson is still signed, he takes over the NT spot and Tonga backs him up. If they re-sign Nichols, he will be the 3-T.
  2. Getsy was really impressive, he seems like he gets it. Play to the players strengths. I think defensively we will be very competitive, offense can't be as bad as last year and if Fields has growth, we will have something good going on.
  3. Sutton signed a new contract, he's not coming. Poles stated 2and 3 Rd wave players. That means the top name include AROB won't be here. Chark and Kirk are probably the best of those options, but if their are bidding wars for their service, I doubt we compete. So I think WRs like Pringle, Zay Jones, Valdez-Scanling may be our choices. Mooney Newsome Grant ( gadet plays). 2 drafted WRs Valdez-Scandling This may be our group.
  4. At this point all we can do is take their word for it that they will try to win, so they will not be getting rid of any good players. When you try to trade older players, you usually are losing value. Monty will not get more than a 3rd round pick and he is still young. How they value our players will go along way to what they do. Key answers, who of our current team we keep. On defense, need a 3T, MLB, 2 CBs and a SS. If they resign Blair Nichols-3-T, Ogletree-MLB, Graham can play , plays NCB, maybe they think Deon Bush can play SS? At worst they need 1= CB, 1=SS and another LB. On offense, Jenkins and Borom can play and they resign Daniels. Add 1 OL. 2WRs and a TE. They resign Jesse James. At this point we are not far away. In the draft they will bring in 2 starters, 2 that contribute. We are not that far away. So off season, bring back Daniels, Jesse James, J. Grant, Nichols, Ogletree, D. Bush, DHC, Chirstian Jones.
  5. I'm going to come back around on this since it is huge need. D.J. Chark is a good target but Jacksonville has 60 mil in cap so if they want him back, they can outbid us. Hopefully they want to upgrade and go after one of the top 3. Gallup was another name mentioned but with the potential of Cooper being cut they may decide to try to keep Gallup . Another good name is mentioned, Mike Williams. OTC says his value will be 15 mil a year. I think that will be to rich for our cap situation, plus why would Chargers let him get away , they are in good cap space. Chirstian Kirk seems like a reasonable get. AZ has cap problems and he will be in a 6-8 mil range. I think Poles may wait and draft a couple WRs with high picks since one of the drafts strengths is WR. A few second wave names to consider: Bryon Pringle, Valdes-Scantling, Zay Jones.
  6. In one month we will have our answers. We will see who he resigns and then who he targets in free agency. since I tink we all agree , he will give Roquin a new contract. That will limit our FA money. I think 1 expensive contract and the 2nd and 3rd wave FAs. If he goes after a OL, that will say a lot about his evaluation of our players.
  7. I think team wise its your foundation players. Monty, Roquin, Quinn, Mack, Mooney and Johnson. I think it is always evolving. Fields elevates to blue chip this year. EJAC was and could be back under an aggressive defensive coach. I think Jenkins will make hid presence known and become that. If they resign Daniels and move him to OC, he could become that.He is only24 years old. I think a problem with the team last year was poor leadership in coaching and on the field. You demand excellence, and it will motivate Jackson ( hopefully). With a new group of coaches, the leaders need to step up. Fields, Jenkins and Monty on offense. Mack, Roquin, and Johnson on defense. I think Jenkins will give you the Olin Kruetz type of attitude and kick people's ass . Fields has to step up. Mooney had a very good year as a 5th round pick in his second year. 81, 1055 and 4 tds. All of that with little support from AROB taking pressure off of him. I think Kmet can take a step also. He quietly had 62 catches 602 yds. These guys had these numbers with a dysfunctional offense all yr. Mooney is a quality #2. They need to find the #1 at pick 39 in this yrs draft. WRs that may be there: George Pickens David Bell John Metchie
  8. Seen a video of an interview with Poles on ESPN. They asked him about free agency. He said that there are a lot of players in tier2 and 3 that can add to your football team. I think besides getting Roquin on a long term deal, there will only be one high priced FA added. The rest will be after the first wave of deals. The only expensive deal KC added last year was Joe Tuney, the rest were mid level deals.
  9. Poles has to evaluate the oline but what if he likes Whitehair, Jenkins and Borom? If he thinks Daniels is a good OC and brings him back? That would only be one new spot to fill the OL. To be fair, we know very little about Jenkins and Borom, so they will be like new additions. If he chooses to bring in free agents, I don't want a average signing. I want LTs like Armsted, Cam Robinson or Orlando Brown. Or OC Ryan Jensen. That instantly give us some creed. Between the OL and extending Roquin, that will be our big FA money gets. So in looking to fill in spots on D and new WRs, they will be on the cheap side. You figure the draft could land us 2 starters, and a couple team contributors. A WR and CB?
  10. I've seen 3 different coaches stated to be the next coach of Houston. McCown, Flores and Lovie. I don't think anyone knows.
  11. I think J. Johnson would be considered a plum. EJAK was, maybe he can get back there.
  12. So my first predictions are resigning Daniels and getting Orlando Brown. Brown will be the only big signing. I expect we draft a couple of WRs and cut Cohen. With that money bring back Grant (speed). So Mooney, Newsome, Grant will be the start of the WR group. Kmet, Monty any Herbert will be our offense going forward. Expect cheap signings to fill in the defense, one 20 mil contract will blow our cap up.
  13. You have to take with a grain of salt what is other peoples opinions and what's true. They have no idea what Poles thinks. In the video the guy hesitates before he tells you what Poles thinks. I took a body language class, that is clearly an indication he doesn't know and has to make something up. The note he got? Only 5 people in the room. Someone passed him a note? He never talked to anybody. First we are changing the blocking scheme. Second he likes mobile and physicality. Whitehair and Jenkins fit that mold. Bosom has only been here one year, they are still evaluating him. Daniels may be a better player as a OC. In the beginning his problem was play calling not blocking. Daniels was considered the best center prospect that yr. I think because the line has so many issues last year that Daniels didn't earn a big paycheck. Give him a 4 year- 26 mil and put him at OC. Next Poles will decide to pay Orlando Brown 20mil a yr .and put him at LT or draft one. If that's the decision, Jenkins plays RT and can Boron be our RG going forward? I think Whitehair is safe at LG. IMO Brown-Whitehair-Daniels-Borom-Jenkins will be our line. Borom and Jenkins are on cheap deals, Daniels won't be expensive. The perfect scenario to go out and pay Brown. Once the oline is fixed, he won't have money to pay a WR , so there will be a couple drafted. KC has big cap issues, they won't be able to pay Brown the money he wants. I think paying Brown (26) and bringing back Daniels at OC fixes the line. What say you.
  14. I think the key to any offensive scheme is to adapt to your talent. That's why Nagy isn't here anymore, it was all scheme centric. His best yr was when he dumbed it down for Mitch.
  15. I think he was looking for10 mil for 10 yrs and when Minnesota wouldn't offer that, he's staying at Michigan. He wanted a Gruden contract.
  16. Look at the QBs they had last yr, Mike Glenn started 5 games. I also think Eddie Jackson could be a perfect fit for defense, if he becomes aggressive again. Matt values TOs.
  17. In 2018 , Nagy was coach of the year, we seem far away from that right now. Everyone was praising how good Flores is, and their NFL record are almost identical. I tink if he goes where their is a very good vet QB, he'll do fine. Not in Detroit thou
  18. If we go by the GMs own words, he's addressing the oline first. I would Say to be realistic, may be able to add a couple extra picks with trade backs. So with 7 picks, 2 oline picks. Will add speed with WRs and DBs. Should be able to add 2 starters and two more that contribute the first yr. If he can get a OT, maybe move Borom to guard. Or draft a new OC or OG and move Daniels to OC if they resign him. Then a starter at CB and two WRs that contribute.
  19. Wow all A+, I've did them a 100 times and my highest was 48000. how many trades? Had to be at least 2. No CBs. Olave and Pierce would be huge.
  20. Being optimistic is always my path, so I will look for the positive vibe and ignore the criticism for a couple of years.I always like brass that value the oline.
  21. He is notorious for wearing his welcome out where ever he goes. I think its best for Fields that grows with the coach. If successful, long term coach and stability for 10 yrs. I'm okay with what went down.
  22. As OC he will shout out for a number1 WR. No way we're spending money on Adams. Can Christian Kirk be that guy?

    New Defense?

Last year as a 3-4 scheme team, 60% of our plays had a 4 front. I think we have 4 DEs on the roster right now, Mack, Quinn, Gibson and Edwards. DTs , Tonga, Blackson, and London. We need a 3 T and MLB. Obviously DBs. The new coaches have a good base for the defense to work with.
  24. We look at it as Mack and Quinn are getting older, get what you can for them. Flus mouth is watering , what can he do with two premium pass rushers. He has never had that. There contracts prohibit them from being traded. If we trade Mack this year, we have to take an Instant 30 mil cap hit. Quinn would cost 13 mil. We are not going to take away valuable cap space for future picks. Those trades will never happen for aged players.
