5 players have been invited for tryouts this week at the Bears minicamp. Chicago has welcomed five players to minicamp on a tryout basis, which includes former Michigan tight end Jake Butt. Also in attendance are defensive back E.J. Gaines, tight end Sal Cannella, offensive lineman Tyrone Wheatley Jr. and defensive lineman Michael Pennel.

Ertz cap hit to Philly will be 12.5 for the current year if he stays in there. 8.5 mil is his this year salary. I think if traded we would only have to pay the salary. Not sure. No one is trading for TE with that kind of a salary with his recent injury history. If they cut him they get to save 8.5 towards their cap. If we can pick him up on a 1 yr 5 mil. GO FOR IT
-
I gave the wrong info on Wheatley, he invited in for a tryout, not signed.
-
We released TE Darien Clark today, freeing up a roster spot.
-
I think ARob won't be staying unless he sees 20 mil a year. To many WRs getting big money.
-
Between Robinson and Adams, who would you take if you had the choice? I would need to see Adams w/o Rodgers. ARob has been a good player with shitty QBs. They are possession type wrs.
-
We're in a whole different place with Fields. If they can't resign ARob then they will be definitely be going after a WR. Hicks and Trevathan will probably be gone, so we will have some holes to fill.

Something to think about. Read an article on Devante Adams and this is his last year under contract. If Rodgers is gone, should he play under a worst QB? or hold out to get his money before he plays this year? If he has a bad yr because of a bad QB, that could cost him 5 mil a year when he goes after a new contract. That would be awesome he Rodgers leaves and Adams holds out for a contract extension.
-
The Bears sign another OT. Tyrone Wheatley Jr. to a contract. Had a lackluster college career at Michigan. It seems they want more competition at OT.
-
Actually I think first round picks are slotted money so the only difference is some language points of the contract. He's focused on playing football. That's a good trait.
-
You're right, I screwed that up.

Kyle Long is already injured and could miss training camp. I make the call he doesn't play this year. Bryd, Mooney, Goodwin, along with Cohen and D. Williams gives us one of the speediest groups in the NFL, plus add 4.44 Justin Fields everyone under 4.45, and 3 WRs under 4.38. I like!!! Also I read where 4.6 David Montgomery cut 1.5 seconds off his time with a speed coach. What to see that.

Most of the vets (older) are skipping OTAs. No big deal. It would be better if they were there but no big deal. As Adam stated, Mustipher working out with Olin, that's great news , he keeps trying to get stronger and a better player. We have no idea what a difference Desai will make but I do know we weren't getting better with Pagano. Desai learned under Fangio, I would say things will be better than taking the stance they will be worst.. Fuller gone will hurt but Skine was no loss and Goldman being back, Johnson-Nichols-Smith-Vidor-Trevis Gibson getting better is a big plus. Quinn cant have as bad of a season than last year, I think he will be the most improved player on D this year. With Edwards coming back and with addition of Attaochu and Blackson coming in, our front 7 are going to great. Jones being here if Trevathan fails is a plus. We have 10 CBs on the roster, someone will step up to take Fullers place. PLUS our offense will be good enough to keep the D off the field more, something that had a big impact in our games last year. The D failed a lot because they were fatigued late in games. PLUS scoring more points will produce a more aggressive D.

A quick look will make you think 7-10 but as you watch the improvement of our team over last year , I can see a 2018 type season. 11-6 is my call. Main reason for this prediction, lots of beer, tiger light.
-
By the end of the season, we can look at the mistakes by Leno and Jenkins , and you wont notice much difference but you're building a player instead of looking for someone to replace Leno.
-
I would just be happy to be in Vegas during the game , the tickets cost would be the same money as a trip to Thailand . Already have my girlfriend wearing the orange and blue.
-
I actually never give up just big disappointments along the way. Hope is high right now for good reason. Maybe we finally have the beginning of something.
-
I see a bunch of articles about adding more FAs. Am I only one that thinks we're okay? Obviously we could use a better option at CB but we have 10 on the roster. Someone will step up. Jones is a capable spot starter at ILB. I think Quinn will be much better than last year, he can't be worse. Maybe a blocking TE. What does Darion Clark do? Is a Y or U?.
-
Nagy has a full set, maybe we get the see the play creator we seen in his first year. I think a wildcard for Nagy will be Cohen. Will play mostly slot WR. He'll have a speed package with Cohen at RB and Mooney, Goodwin and Bryd on the field at the same time. Then have Fields run a QB draw. I think this is going to be a special year coming? Did I drink to much Thailand whiskey?

You're not alone. I hated the idea of losing draft picks and would have loved getting Teven Jenkins at 20. Well guess what, I liked the Pace factor. I still got Jenkins and ( would have bet my house on it) that drafting Justin Fields was impossible. Also a backup NT (Konga) a CB that will contribute this year ( Graham), a WR that will contribute (Newsome ), and a potential RT with an attitude (Bosom). Plus a RB that will end up being our primary backup to Mongomery. That's quite the haul with limited draft picks.

Seen an article that stated Fields and Godwin are working out together with pics. Fields is already putting it together working out with his WRs before his season starts.
-
Using Over the Cap info , we only have 28 players signed for 2022 with 50 mil cap space. That does not include the rookie contracts yet. Interesting tidbit, the Bryd signing was a vet minimum, so he only counts 250 thousand towards the cap . Grab more of these kind of contracts. I think it's at the point of the season, players just want to make sure they can get on a roster and not looking for big money.

I would love Rodgers gone but think both sides of the argument have issues. Rodgers is a asshole with a big ego and the GM seems to be too. I think the top 3 QB wins and moves on. I can't wait until the packer fans turn on Rodgers, that will seal the fate. Something to think about, what if Love is good? We have another Farve to Rodgers scenario? One thing at a time.

Burns got injured last year, it was Jordan lucas and Goldman that were the only 2 that opted out. We should remember there are players on this roster that could make significant contributions. Lucas was a decent player for KC. Blackmon could be the best DT FA signing on the defensive line over the last 3 yrs. Attaochu is an excellent pass rusher. Burns and Tre Robinson have some creed before they got here. Trufant was a pro bowler once or twice. If he can stay injury free, he can match Fuller's play last year which was a little above average. Jones is our best ILB signing since Kwat left. Wilkinson is a better player than Spriggs that's place he took. I still think Bars is capable of starting and could beat out IFEDI for the RT spot. Komet will have a break out year. Dont forgot Hoested can catch the ball. Ridley may actually prove his high praise he was once given. ( maybe not). The point is, we so easily forget people already on the roster that may be good players as we want more FAs.
-
Graham has value, the questions are because of his pay amount. If he was being paid 4 mil, everyone would be praising him as a red zone threat and helping Komet become a NFL player. I wouldn't cut Graham, defenses have to pay attention to him when he's on the field. We need as many TD scorers as we can, he can do that. Hicks at 75% is still the best DT we have, agree.
