Wish it was April Fools but looks like Fuller cut
Stinger226 replied to 50england50's topic in Bearstalk
Pace must be good friends with you, he is doing your biding by trying to get fired. -
With all his bad decisions in drafting and FA we are now trying to improve by cutting good players because our cap situation sucks. Replace bad draft picks . Pace plan to get fired in 2021 Andy Dalton OL Leno -Whitehair-Mystifer-Daniels- IFedi resigned TE Keep Graham WR AROB tag and then lose him WR Not resign Patterson Get rid of Skrine-Fuller-Hicks Yet to fill spots at S, at CB and DT Sign Edwards and Blackson DRAFT 1) Tyson Campbell/CB 2) Terrance Marshall/WR 3) Marvin Wilson/DT 5) Kellen Mond/QB 6) Tommy Doyle/OT 6) Tril Williams/SS 6) Ambry Thomas/ CB

I suspect they tried to redo his contract and he refused. I looked at the FA list at CB and a lot of good names out there. Some are coming off bad years but have a consistent history. Casey Hayward, A. J. Bouye., these players could both be brought in for what we had to pay Fuller. Not as good as but not to far behind. -
Our DL has Hicks, Nichols, Goldman, Edwards, Blackson signed so far for 2021. I would have like to had Urban back but he just signed with Dallas. We had McCullers and Jenkins in the fold and RRH on IR. Goldman opted out . So would probably need at least 2 more DL players to fill out the roster this year. We have LaCale London on a futures contract. So is everyone good if we just bring back Jenkins and McCullers again? Unless we sign another upscale DL, I think this says Hicks will be here.

We had a meeting with Kenny Holladay last night. Maybe we sign him to a deal like Corey Davis 3-37.5 mil instead of pay 18 to AROB on the tag.

Bears sign Andy Dalton per the score. Foles 2.0

Im not sure money was the only consideration. Sean Payton- Matt Nagy Mickey Loomis- Ryan Pace they have a better run organization. -
It sounds like they will cut Fuller instead of Hicks. I think with all the good players being cut they can find a bargain player at CB this year. I am more worried about getting a SS of which there is a lot out there right now. Maybe Gibson can come back on a cheap deal.

Once MT didnt work out, just trying to find a different solution is tough. The top 10 QB trade scenarios was never going to happen. I would say trying to sign Winston was something they should have did last year, he is in a better situation staying where he is at. You could try retreads like Mariota or Darnold but that wont happen until the draft which may be better choices but we will never know now. They needed to try something and this was the only thing on the table. Which is more important right now is just to have a good draft and hope to build a better roster going forward. I just picked a random mock off of CBS sports site 1st T Jenkins/OT Strong-nasty attitude- very consistent- large 2nd K Trask/QB Have to take a shot on a very productive college player. 3rd Nico Collins/WR Similar player to AROB 5th Alaric Jackson/ OT Iowa tackle not rated high but they also seem to be players.

If we try to look at this as a glass half full, this actually broke the glass, so we have to start over.
-
Between Dalton, Foles , I would much rather have MT back and dump Nagy if he cant use him properly.

I think they end up drafting the LT but will play RT this year. They will think between Leno and Ifedi, Leno is better. With him and Bars they have the backups in case to support the 2 new tackles we will draft.(I hope). On Olins podcasts they had a so called OL expert and he stated that Telven Jenkins is the 2nd best OT in this draft other than Pete Sewell. He should be there when we pick, we should grab him. He likes Slater from NW but says he will probably be a OG.
-
I have been listening to Olins podcast and he had a OL expert( studies the OL tapes all the time) and he called Leno an average LT. That because he is so light 309 , he lunges at DEs and when he misses it looks terrible on film . He keep using the term average all the time. If you watch tape of all the LTs in the league , they all mess up. I havent did that so I will have to take the guys word for it. He has no stake in praising or condemning Leno. On saying this, we have to draft a LT this year , period.
-
No way they spend 20 mil for a old LT, that would be dumb. As far as ratings Leno did have a mediocre season last year . They need to just draft a LT in the first round and have a cheap contract for 5 years, not a 33 year old Williams.

The front office just put you closer to your wish of both of them being gone. You should be happy. -

Last year Dalton didnt get cut until April 30 before he was signed. If Pace would have did nothing and waited until the end of April we would be after his head just like now. For us to get Dalton last year we would have had to trade for him. Maybe the 4th would have been enough but we dont know. Now all we need to do is to sign Alex Smith and they can go for the trifecta for backup QBs. -
I think that 18 is probably where he should be in the scale of good WRs, the problem is he thinks he's worth 20-22 mil a year.
-
Cory Davis signed for 3-37.5 mil. He is not as good as AROB but definitely would have been cheaper. Nelson Agholor signed 2-26 mil. I can see where he wants over 20 mil a year the problem is we dont have the money. This is the part of FA you dont want to be a part of , where most are getting more money than they are worth. Out of everyone out there, I think AROB was the best option, Goloday hasnt signed yet , Goodwin got tagged, so we will see what they get.
-
Would Floyd had that kind of year here if he came back instead of leaving for LA? I doubt it with the same defense.
-
If he wants the same money, 5 mil a year, I dont see him coming back here. Maybe he takes a 1 yr 3 mil after the dust settles in FA.
-
Fritz is gone, writers keep mentioning every QB that might be out there, it just gives them something to write about. Pace is usually decisive and goes after what he wants, so if people are gone that means he didnt want them, at least at that price. I think he is trying to work a trade. The options of Mariota, Darnold, or Minchew. I think the Wilson or Watson deals are pipe dreams. As far as Darold, isnt that kind of the same case as Tannerhill? Failed in Miami but found life in Tenn?
-
I read everything I can find on this subject and nowhere has anyone figured that in the equation. Does the dead money carry over eliminate that ? They have 8.9 mil in dead cap money. I go to both websites, Spotrac and Over the Cap and OtheC seems more reliable.
-
That's cool, he sure presents himself as a good guy.
-
Those 2 picks last year didn't make much since as their first 2 picks. I think they probably planned on letting Jones go after last year but changed their mind. Having a future QB in place isn't that bad an idea but with the first pick?
-
4 WRs are making over 20 mil a year. Hopkins is making 12.5 this year and 25 mil next year. He deserves over 20 mil but he is not in Hopkins price range.
-
I like everything he provides as a player, works hard, plays hard and good leader. At 32 with some injuries the last 2 years, his time may be over here.
