  1. If we got him at that price, I would have been okay with deal. I'm okay with adding a vet as long as we don't blow our draft up. I would go after Minchew, what do you think Jags would want.
  2. It's a good addition to bring in some that have good experience instead of all first timers. Probably helps.
  3. The only way he comes here is if we pay him. He has a lot attention and that will drive the price up. His age and injuries put him in risky situation. I can see him go to TB on a 1 year- 6-8 mil deal.

    What if

Nagy has a 28-22 record since taking over. That doesn't make a good coach or bad coach, it makes him average. Especially since he has had poor QBs along the way. The single most important position in football. I'm not trying to drink Nagy coolaide but he's not terrible. Having said that, I prefer to move on from him.
  5. If Wentz does well enough for someone to want to trade for him, they would just keep him. If they have to give up a +1 for him , if he does bad, they would be lucky to get a 3rd pick back. This will be win win , or everyone gets fired anyway.
  6. The problem is if the defense does well Desir will get the credit and we probably have winning season so no one leaves.
  7. Goldman is coming back, Nichols did not hold up well at NT but did well in the DT situations. Many praised him for that this year. Urban played well. I think we need a DT but because I think Hicks might be cut , not because the DL was terrible. If we need anything on defense, its another ILB, SS and CB. Our depth is not good in those areas.
  8. Heard a beat reporter from Philly on the SCORE this morning and he stated that Philly just wants to start over, new coach, they like Hurts and not really bad mouthing everyone involved in the mess. He liked Pederson, Wentz, just fell apart and the brass want new. He said what's wrong with Wentz is all in his head, lost confidence and tried to do to much. He said a new start would be good for Wentz but it doesnt guarantee anything. Our problem is Pace. Always chasing what he missed in the draft. WR= pay Allen Robinson. MT and Foles= not go after Wentz. Floyd didnt look like the guy so they got Mack. Turns out Floyd ended up being better this year than any of our guys.
  9. I agree, O and D has better coaches.
  10. My point is we are close to those standards, not saying equal. If ARob had Brady throwing to him, the only thing that separates them is TDs. I agree better but very close. We absolutely need to upgrade OTs to even have the conversation but there again, upgraded if Brady was throwing. Quick and knows where to go. Graham would have had better stats with Brady throwing to him. I guess I think the D is a wash, if it comes back whole, offense needs 2 OTs , WR and obviously a solid QB. Montgomery is the best RB out of the players I mentioned. IMO ARob- 6'2 1/2" 223 4.47 speed Evans- 6'5" 232 4.53 speed. Who ever we get at QB wont be close to the top QBs but Carson Wentz maybe top 15 which would put Bears in a winning record and playoff berth next year. So are we better off? probably not . If you overlook last year, he was a top 10 QB.
  11. As far as comparing the teams, take a look DBs; I think we have talent with AJAK, Fuller and Johnson LBs; Devin White and Smith are very similar and Levonta David is better than Trevathan but its not a great difference as you think. Edge; Would you rather have Barrett and JPP or Mack and Quinn ? If you take this year away, I would say at least a tie if not in our favor. IDL; Vea and Suh or Goldman and Hicks, that's in our favor. WR; Clearly TB but Robinson is almost even with Evans OL; Clearly Wirfs is a star in the making. but Jensen and Marpet are the equal with Daniels and Whitehair We need OTs RB; With Cohen healthy and Montgomery , I would take over Jones and Fournette. by the way Fournette is a FA. TEs; On the year Graham had a better year than Gronk, Gronk clearly the better blocker. I would take Kmet over Brate. So how far are we from TB? QB , new OTs and a WR. Clearly if they make the right QB option we can compete. I think we beat TB if I remember correctly.
  12. The Bears brass clearly have to go for it to keep their jobs, so this option makes sense from that point of view. I doubt unless they move up in the draft(more draft capital expended) this is probably their only move with a vet QB. Carr, and Watson has been mentioned but if you were their teams would you let them go unless you get overpaid for it. I wouldnt. Watson may force his way out of Houston but that wont happen until he didnt report to camp. We cant wait that long to know or future, nor will many other teams. Carr only goes if Gruden has a better option, where is that coming from with the 17th pick or another vet? Only if they think Mariota is very good now. My choice would be Garner Minshew, but is that a better move? Less expense on cap and for trade. As far as trading with Philly, where are they weak? OL and WR , maybe TE. If not Miller, Kmet? Mooney? Daniels? We assume Miller but why we dont mind that he leave is why they may not want him.
  13. If we are rolling the dice, he is a good option. I seen a tweet from Tarik Cohen and he talked to GM and Nagy and he said he is not going anywhere. I would prefer Carr but not sure he is going anywhere. Why would Gruden go in the season with the 17th pick or Mariota at QB? Carr has cap hits of 22 and 19 mil in the next two years. I dont think Watson is going anywhere either, so LV wont be able to get him.
  14. I just seen Cohen's name mentioned also. I wouldn't do this trade but I'm not Pace. Maybe it works.
  15. I just heard the deal for Carson might include a first, Foles and another offensive player. I'm thinking Miller.
  16. With NY stating the correct salary we would pay, this would be a favorable trade if we can get him with not giving up to much. Since it is reported we have the highest offer, I suspect its our first round pick and a future pick. Is that worth it? They are going for it this year so this seems like a move they would make. With a second and third round pick , we should be able to get a OT and WR that can play this year. I think this move would mean we franchise AROB and probably keep Leno with Massie being odd man out. This would mean Hicks would probably be gone also.
  17. I stand corrected, anyone getting Wentz cost for the rest of his contract would be cap figures on his contract of $25.4 million, $22 million, $25 million, and $26 million. The Eagles have to pay his prorated bonuses. Besides the cost is also what draft capital we must spend on the trade. Sports injury predictor suggests he has a 83% chance of injury going forward and a 10.5% chance of in any one game. Jan 5, 2020 NFL Head Cranial Concussion Grade 1 Carson suffered a concussion in the team's Wild Card playoff loss to the Seahawks in the first quarter. Oct 11, 2018 NFL Back Vertebral Fracture Exact date of injury is unknown, but Wentz's back trouble dates back to October. He missed the final 3 games of the year but avoided surgery. Dec 10, 2017 NFL Knee ACL Tear Grade 3 Wentz departed in the 2nd quarter with a torn ACL He returned for Week 3 of the 2018 season. Dec 10, 2017 NFL Knee LCL Tear Grade 3 Wentz departed in the 2nd quarter with a torn LCL. He returned for Week 3 of the 2018 season. Aug 11, 2016 NFL Chest Rib Fracture Wentz suffered a hairline fracture in his ribs against Tampa Bay. Oct 17, 2015 Non-NFL Hand Wrist Fracture Wentz broke a bone in his throwing wrist that required surgery.
  18. There is only 6 teams with over 30 mil in cap space. NE, Cinn, Jets, Colts , Washington. NE, Colts, and Washington are the only decent teams that would make a move like that. Wash has Chase Young, so they are out. NE needs a QB so they will be spending their money on a QB signing. Colts are the only team in the position to do it and they need a QB. They are not spending money on a QB and then adding a 26 mil contract on a player that isnt living up to his paycheck.
  19. ITs literally isnt going to happen. Just rumor. His cost is an average of 33 mil for the next 4 years. Coming off his worst season with injury history. You would have to be dumb to get him. Well Pace might. Foles played better than he did last year and he is under contract.
  20. We all can agree, he made a career ending bad choice, except he works for the Bears. All of these trade scenarios have odds of 1% any would work out unless Pace over pays. Something that would not be good for this team. The only think I would do is a 1st round for Carr that has two inexpensive years on his contract or trade for a Gardner Minshew making the minimum and probably be gotten for a 3rd at the worst. Try to sign Winston or just draft one and go with Foles until he's ready.
  21. I have been watching the Bears since the late 60s, been so many lean years its hard to count. This is a mediocre team but has many moments of being entertaining. I can just hope for the best and be happy when they win and be in a shitty mood when they lose. They will draft a QB but , in the first round, their is only 4 worthy of the 20th pick. The next few are 2nd and 3rd round picks. If we take one of them at one, that is a bad plan. IF we strengthen the OL, it makes whoever is QBing job much easier. I think Foles will end up being the starter and hope they have the chance to grab a top 4 QB. Otherwise with all these scenarios, most are unrealistic. I think maybe trying to acquire a cheap option, like a Gardner Mishew would add some intrigue to the mix and go from there.
  22. Totally agree, the will surprise us for good or bad.
  23. I think in the league , Pace would be considered average at his job. He has missed on most of his first rounders but have hit on mid round picks. Mooney, Nichols, Cohen, EJAC, Amos, and Howard. Almost all of his 2nd and third rounds picks have stuck. The last three years everyone but Kennith Whyte has made the team.
  24. I hate to say this, but I think they pick a QB in the first round, bring in a OL in the second and WR in the third. That would probably mean Leno would be back and the rookie would play RT for this year and change to LT going forward.
  25. They kept them here for a few reasons, they had a jacked up year with virus affecting the operation of the team. I think they decided because this year will be more of the same, so why not ride the cost for one more year instead of starting over. Other owners have income from other sources but the Bears is their only source of income. I doubt they lost money but they definitely lost profit which is actually losing money. George clearly likes both Nagy and Pace, the last three years looks better than the did since we last had a winner. He is accepting mediocre. I think we needed to blow it up, but maybe we luck out and get a QB and the new D coach gets the D back to top of the league. ESPN is just a opinion article that isnt telling us anything we dont already know, its a uphill battle. IF they can find a QB that can be better than Foles or MT was last year IF the D returns to top 5 with Desir IF we can find the money to tag AROB and still add the OL upgrade Maybe we can have a winning record for next year. Odds are slim to none if I was betting.
