  1. I prefer someone that isnt this hotshot OC or DC and has been a head coach before. Fitz falls in that category. He has a history, success from an institute that has high standards that 70% of the recruits cant match. I dont know if he would be good or bad, but do you want another Offensive mind(Nagy) from a successful bloodline? I totally have no idea who, just know dismissing someone is not a good idea in looking for the right person. My problem is the same people keep picking the new people and we end up with the same results 5 yrs later. It is an ownership thing that will never change until the team is sold.
  2. As bad as it sounds, I would hope Denver lets go of Fangio and someway he gets back here. Pagano makes to many bad decisions.
  3. I am with you, I think both should be gone, but it is like betting on a game, do you go with the logic,, or your heart when you make the bet. Reality says they aint leaving. I think if Pace gave Nagy the players he needs to make his system work, we may have a different view of his accomplishments. I think Pace gone and Nagy having one more year would be acceptable to me. I hate to say this but if they dont draft a LT in the first round, Leno may be here one more year. I would prefer Bars to shift to LT at worst. At least he would have some upside. Leno looks bad most games and just does enough good plays to make the team question about getting rid of him. PPF had him with the highest grade for LTs during the 3 game winning steak. I dont think PPF has much merit when you see that crap. The eyes dont lie. When I make a comment it is not always what I want but a prediction of what I think might happen.
  4. The only way we win today is if our high paid players on D plays up to their contracts. Quinn, Jackson, and Mack. If MT plays an errorless game and we get some lucky breaks. I would say with David Bahktaria out is our first break. We will never win a shoot out with Rodgers at QB so the D needs to show up.
  5. Next year the cap gets lowered by 20 mil that puts us in the hole 2 mil. Only a handful of teams will have the money to accept high paid players added to their roster. I doubt anyone offers MT a starting job. Look at Jamis Winston for an example. If we win and make the playoffs and play a competitive game in the playoffs is the best we can hope for. The few spot difference winning will not matter as far as getting a QB in the draft. The Bears have owners that do not have other outside sources of income, just the team. It will affect their decision. They will look at all the pluses and minuses that Pace has had. The last 3 years with a coach (he choose) they will be 28-22 at the worst. Not a losing season for 3 years. In the realm of the NFL, its very average but in our history, it carries a little weight. If they have to pay a new GM money plus what Pace has on the books , that would be a bad financial decision. Constantly rotating new regimes every 5 years hasnt looked like that is working. They will choose to stay stable for one more year and give Pace one more chance to add a better situation at QB. They will blame the pandemic for a screwed up year. Foles has demonstrated he is just a backup, he is not an answer. MT may not be either but it will be all we may have. Taking a 3rd round graded QB with our first pick will not make us better unless they get very lucky. It cost 10.5 to get rid of Foles if you choose to bring MT back and add a high pick average QB. We are in QB hell. We are stuck in limbo for one more year. If Nagy plays to MTs strengths we can have a winning season next season but may not have a future QB again. Sometime things just never change.
  6. LIke you said, sad but actually will be good for us.Just the part of football you can not control, injuries affect us week to week, now its their turn to take a hit. I dont think he has played a full slate of games this year, so they have someone capable behind him.
  7. Not a lot of options out there in FAgency or picking around 20 in the draft so bringing him back may be the best option. I personally hope they have someone in the draft available to us that could be a starter by the end of 2021 and move on to something different. MT isnt taking anyone to the SB, someone else may have that chance.
  8. I think Jones and Trask could be there at around 20. Dont know if they are worth that high a pick or not but will be in demand because so many teams need a QB. I have read some good things about J. T. Daniels and Jamie Newman( not my opinion) so maybe there is a few that could be a 2nd round pick for us. There is potentially 10 teams that could take a QB in front of us so all of this maybe a wasted talking point.
  9. I hope they find a way but think it will be hard to sign AROB . Starting out with 2 mil in the hole and only 35 players under contract, its going to hard to sign a 18-20 mil WR. I can see them do something stupid and draft a first round WR and let AROB leave. The 2 easy cuts are Hicks and Graham that saves us 18.5 mil. in cap space and I wouldnt like to see Hicks go. Foles cost us 12.5 to let him go so he will be our backup QB. We would have to sign MT or another vet. OR draft a first round pick at QB. We have lots of issues to over come to get close to trying to sign AROB
  10. Fuller is playing well enough to be wanted by someone but doubt your getting anything better than a third for him with his salary. The problem is every team has to deal with the loss of cap space and only a few that can weather it very well, so just a few times would be capable of trading for him. Colts and NE are two with the highest cap space , so maybe the Colts but NE gets rid of expensive players , not trade for them. The rest are bad teams that are not in the position to be ready to do that kind of move.
  11. I dont think with everyone having a difference of opinions that anyone will agree on hitting a homerun. Definitely draft 2 OTs in the first 3 rounds as the draft falls that way also. I have read some good things about Jamie Newman as being a better prospect than Trask and we could get him in the 3rd round leaving us getting better OT prospect in the second instead of third.
  12. Being 8-8 at worst Nagy and Pace isnt going anywhere but changing Pagano is a good idea that I doubt Pace addresses. The defense needs to be more aggressive. I hate at the end of games we have leads where we have 3 rushes as good QBs having time move down the field. With a more aggressive team, we have the chance to give up more bigger plays but have more chances to create more TOs , something we are lacking since Fangio left. Backing into the playoffs losing to Packers as AZ loses when not be very uplifting. Since we are rolling, we just need to beat Packers which could put us in a spot to play them in the first game of the playoffs. If Seattle wins and Packers lose, they will have the same conference record. I am not sure what the next protocol is for seeding? Anyone know?
  13. I think we are good inside, definitely go 2 OTs
  14. The problem is Foles has 10.5 mil coming that if we cut him it becomes dead money, no cap saving. According to Over The Cap. I think they will decide over a drafted QB or MT. Not both.
  15. If you use him right and have a good team around him, I think you can win with him, the problem would be , at some point , Pace will give him a 25 mil a year contract and he will be very mediocre. We still need to address that position whether he is here next year or not.
  16. There was a Tribune article about the 30 biggest moments for Pace. As I read it , it came out 15-15 with a few questionable decisions. So he is average. Bad with the first round but good with later round picks. Smith is a stud, so it was hard to screw that one up. For me, if he traded his first and second rounds picks for more in 3-5, I would be more confident. 50-50 with FAs. I see the biggest problem for him is giving people like Glennon and the Quinns big money but the cheaper FAs have been good. With the lost of money for the team this year, the worst they will be is 8-8 so a 12-4 and 8-8 before that, they aint going anywhere. To keep changing coaches and GMs that doesnt get you any where to make it a stable winning franchise so I am probably ok with it. Comet-Johnson- Mooney. Gibson and Virdor seems to be make the top 53 type players with upside. The OL may contribute or not , so cant really complain about this year. Leno playing well at the end of the year does not blow my skirt up. I am for still go in a new direction with him. 1st or 2nd may get that done. The QB position is the downfall for Pace, hopefully we find an answer this year.
  17. I understood them going to Foles, Nagy hoping that he became the guy, he's not. BUT they should have played MT sooner and shaped the scheme to his strengths. My question is why after Daniels got hurt, they did not identify the upgrade Sam M and A Bars brought to the table instead of playing the Coward card for so long? Clearly our OL has affected the running game and helped with MT.
  18. I think it will come down to if they find a better option, draft pick, or a Carr cut loose situation, they will bring him back. I think we are stuck with Foles for one more year as the backup, because cutting him is all dead money , no cap affect at all and then we would have to pay someone else to be a backup.
  19. With Daniels coming back, Bars has the body of a OT, maybe he could play RT. Draft a first round LT and get a later round RT prospect and frees up the front of the draft for a WR, CB. DT and a QB. We have picks in the first 3 rounds. If we cant resign AROB we also would get a comp. 3rd round pick.
  20. NOW , do not play with 3 up front, we do not need to give Cousins time.
  21. Why is he dropping back and not rolling out? It has been successful all game. I hear people say DMonty is running better, I think if he doesnt have to dodge bullets in the backfield, he plays this well all the time.
  22. I think he is getting better and has more room for improvement.
  23. So if MT plays well the rest of the season, do we bring him back? I think him and Nagy are on different pages and Nagy will lobby for a different QB to run his offense.
  24. There is no way Fuller , Jackson, Mack or Quinn have any chance of being traded. If you go by their value of contract, this year is bad juju for trying to trade them. Cost doesnt match production. I have read projections that 2 years from now the cap will not being going up because they will be dealing with the same problems they had to deal with this year. We are stuck in cap hell . I hope they can move money down the road and keep as many stars as we can. Hicks is the only star that does not have a negative impact on the cap. I am not lobbying to get rid of him, just think its the only one that works with the cap for a 32 year old , having injuries the last two years. I think they will think Nichols taking a jump will ease the pain. I doubt they will get rid of Miller with AROB probably not coming back. Losing AROB and Hicks will hurt but with so many big contracts they will have no choice. I like the idea of moving contracts down the road but with the next two years being stagnate, I think it will be hard to move everything 3 years down the road and work. WRs: Miller, Mooney, Wims, Ridley, and a draft pick looks like our next year roster. Not good DTs: Nichols, McCullens, Goldman, Urban, McCullens and RRH might be what we are stuck with. I would love everybody back but the numbers tell a different story. I just dont think your moving players and restructuring contracts 2 years down the road is going to work. If I have a choice, I would try to bring back AROB and let Hicks go. Younger, a #1 WR for a new QB.
