Also he signed for the vet minimum 885, 000 against the cap. That is a hell of a deal for a player that started 60 games at 25. He has upside much more than Ted Larson that we signed last year.

You got me on that one, I forgot I did that , your kinda using strong language calling me a ( turd). Just joking, I haven't heard that term since I was in grade school. Since both of us don't get each others sense of humor, I'll quit responding to your posts if that makes you feel better.

Seriously you're correcting my grammar and you're asking me if ( I'm okay). Psychology today magazine did an article about people that correct grammar on social media. It's very interesting, I think it was Aug edition but I'll find it for you. You seem to be the only on here that cares about shit like that. If that bothers you, they have medication for that.

I meant if we don't have a winning record this year. Although Pace has only did a C+ type job, the combination of him and Nagy are 20-13. Constantly rebuilding doesn't work well either.

Hard to know. People like Peppers and dare I say clay Matthews at 34. Keep playing well in a lesser role. Hicks has had few injuries in his career, maybe 3 - to 4 yrs contributing.
-
A lot of times they pull Goldman in rush situations and put in Skine . They change up a lot, they don't want to wear out their studs. All the snaps that Hicks has gotten over the last 2 yrs contributed to him getting hurt I think. He needs to be about 70% and not the 85% they have been playing him.

I agree with the QB position but I think we might have to do that next year. This year we have two that will battle and see who takes us to the playoffs. If not there will be a new GM that will start over. Bray is back because this year the 3rd guy won't be up to speed with the offense. I doubt we draft a kicker but love the first 3 picks, don't know enough about Gordon to say ya or nay. We have backups on the team that could step up and play well, it seems like to many people dismiss that possibility. Tolliver, Bars, Bush.

I watched that , he makes a lot of sense. The nickel back and SS both need to be good. Skine isn't big but he's physical. He played well last year.
-
One move we could do is play Skine at CB2 and put Shelley at nickel. Skine is not a big guy but he as experience at the off CB and is physical.

I was reading about and watching tape on Delpit, he's rated as a potential all pro type and he would be a good pick. I agree that the field S ( they call them field and boundary Ss now )would fit his strengths. I think Delpit is more ready for the NFL over Kyle Duggar and Jeremy Chinn, both small school teams. There is several Ss left that could help us. Jefferson, Reid, and Jones. all a little older than you would want but if we could get one on a 1 yr cheap deal , it would free us up to go best player available in our first 2 picks I think Delpit might not be there at 43 . My favorite scenario is still move back and get 2 extra picks and grab a speedy WR, , OT, RB and TE. Get a S and CB in the 5th if available at those portions of the draft. Denmark hasn't been very visible but maybe he's ready to make the roster as a backup now. He looks like a S but if was good enough to compete at CB that would be a big deal.
-
They don't rate this draft very good at TE so a 5th round pick could end up being as good as the top 3 might be. I don't think they will value any for our 2 nd round picks. If we went to war with our team as it is right now, I think the most glaring weaknesses would be ( unknown starters) RG, SS , TE and CB. We need backups at WR, OLB, and RB. Let's say we could only. get 2 starters out of this draft that have a impact. I keep going back to the strength of the draft. WR and OL. So the first 2 picks need to be those. So by Miller's mock draft it would have to be OL- Niang- Wilson and Prince Tega Wanogho at 43 At 50 it would have to be Jalon Reagor. I think we have CB covered between tolliver-Robinson- Burns. Lots of people have us taking a CB, I don't think its necessary that high CHANGE MY MIND? Pace has found SS later in the draft and I think he may be able to find one this yr. The rest of the draft will be depth at the other positions of need.
-
By his draft, I would have changed Duggar to Claypool ( make him a TE) and draft Reagor /WR instead of Kmet. At 200 I would have taken K'Von Wallace/S instead of the RB In the 7th I would have grabbed a RB instead of the 2 CBs.

There is a big community that writes on sports. A lot of them call themselves experts when we know there is very few that knows what they're doing. An example of erza Cleveland was no where To be found on draft boards, now he's a top 50 pick. Its GMs jobs to evaluate players and they get 50% wrong in the first round. So I think some are smart and some are lucky and the rest change jobs every 4 years. Pace have missed badly on the first rounders but does well on mid and late round picks. I like he is aggressive, some players hit and some fail. In the last 2 yrs we are 20-13. So I'm viewing the upside of the last two years and thinking we're going to make the playoffs and do well. I like everything he has did so far except over pay for Graham deal but it's not my money so as long as we win this yr, he can have 5 Graham's on the team. I think if he trades back and gets extra picks in the top 100 , I'm all in on his choices. OL, WR, SS and TE should be our first 4 picks.

I just noticed that Vonn Bell sighed with Bengals for 6 mil a yr 18 mil overall. That was a little to rich for our cap.
-
I think Aaron lemings has a on going list of everyone they have had contact with so far in predraft time. I think I just seen today they talked to KJ Hamler / WR/ Penn state also.
-
They have time to put this together. There is more risk involved when injuries come into play but it will just have to put in the contract , valid after physical. I have to give them credit for not letting hysteria control the moment and figure out a way to make it work. It's the only sports we have right now.

Draft two players or positions to nail round 2 if we cannot trade down
Stinger226 replied to ASHKUM BEAR's topic in Bearstalk
I think he will slide back , I don't see 1 player that would make a difference sitting there at our picks. 4 in the top 100 would be a good get. This is Paces sweet spot where he has been successful. -
I heard a podcast ( locked on bears) that had a interview with a beat writer for Dallas . Quinn had the best win rate for 1 on 1 blocking in the league last year. He is going to make a huge addition to this defense. The writer had nothing but go things to say about his leadership and well liked by teammates.

Ruiz will be the first OC-OG off the board, I doubt he makes it to us but would be a good choice. I wouldn't mind if we drafted 2 OLs with our first two picks. -

The strongest draft positions this year are OT and WR . Our 2 positions we are weakest at right now S and OL. So at 43 and 50 we have our best shot at 1st round talent are OT and WR but would still have some solid choices at S if one drops. 43 Erza Cleveland and Josh Jones both are in that area of the draft we could still have one available so what ever OT drops grab one. Since we need a contributor for 2nd round picks this year either player could start at RG and move to LT next year. 50 Jeremy Chinn and Kyle Duggar could be there at this spot and also Denzel Minns or Jalen Raegor at WR. Either position would help this team immediately so whoever is there take here. -
I suspect the most important thing right now is they trade back in the draft. The 4 picks in the top hundred is the best case scenario. With e everything happening we still get thr draft.
-
They need to double down with a vet and the draft to keep their options open and have competition. It will not be a early pick. 6th or 7th round.
-
I heard a podcast where a packers beat reporter with insight on Graham . He said if you use him 50% of the time and more for a red zone threat and pick spots for him that he would be an asset. If he's on the field to much he wears down and it affects his production. He said his blocking was better than advertised but that's why you limits his reps because he wears him down.

I think we still need to address the RB position. Available players: Spencer Ware DeAngelo Washington Isiah Crowell Ty Mongomery CJ Prosise Corey Clement These are RBs I think we could get for a minimum type salary. I would take Corey Clement, he's averaged over 4 yds per carry for his career and have recieving ability and also draft a guy late in the draft.
