  1. We have to chug a beer , video it and post here? The only presser is not because of injury.
  2. Unfortunately Leno will be day one starter that's not a fallacy.
  3. I think we bring in competition at CB but not a clear starter. ILB will be a cheaper Trevathan, a 6 mil a year contract with Kwit or KLP. RG will be a cheaper RG in FAency or a draft pick. The wildcard is if Bars can play and takes over at RG. We have to bring in a SS, fournitely there are a lot in FA and probably can get one to do a HaHa deal like we got last year. TE will be added in the draft. So the draft will come down probably only having to fill one spot as a starter and add a speedy WR or a OT prospect.
  4. I think we would all agree we need to replace him but the circumstances of 4 long term money contracts on the OL prohibits that. Take in consideration we have no backup in place to take over for him. A better option in FAgency will cost to much. The chances of us drafting a LT starter on day 2 is slim. There is a better chance he plays better in 2020 than what we could replace him with. If he can reduce his penalties and play like 2018 , he would be acceptable.
  5. The beginning of the post gave his contract and I agree he would be the best TE on the team. Unfortunately we can't look at this with blinders on. First he cost 7 mil, secondly he is older now , 35 in March, and has been injured for the last 2 years. https://sportsinjurypredictor.com/player/greg-olsen/2385 This is a link to a website that lists injury history on players and rates the prediction of future performance. He has a 51.1% chance of a injury in 2020.
  6. The whole point was you wanted him here, after your argument gets turned upside down then you always walk back. It's okay we all do that sometimes. DANG IT
  7. As much as Carr is a better QB right now there is 3 things preventing that from happening. Cost- with a lack of draft capital what do we have to offer? Cost- he is making 21 million this year, we are against the cap. Also is Carr the ideal fit for Nagys offense? I would say Bridgewater is a better QB right now but he is not a good fit for Nagys offense either. Pace is not going to give up on MT this year, his career is based on this pick, he's going to let this play out.
  8. Actually he is a lousy TE option. As a inline blocker, bad , as a blocker against DBs, he did good. He is 223, how many TEs are that light? He is not known for having a high catch rate but as a speciality players with less touches he has been fine. As soon as you give him 70 targets it will show.
  9. With Patterson, he may be a luxury but to replace him you would have to spend some money to get someone good so maybe they stay put. Leno isn't going anywhere and no one is trading for him. The other 2 are no brainers.
  10. Just remember , 50% of all first round picks fail, good thing we don't have a first round pick. People that get paid to do player judgment don't get it right that often it's just something to talk about.
  11. Your right the difference is we are not paying him 6.5 mil to play. With little cap space this is what you have to do to find competition at a weak position. There is no paying the best option at TE 10 mil to play or drafting a 2nd round pick that will start for us this year. We have to roll the dice on many options and pick the best one out going forward. Maybe we can sign a old injury prone vet and pay 7 mil , oh shit we blew that one.
  12. Your saying injury risk could apply to anybody. Some people have injury history and some don't. Olsen has 2 years of history now with age. Not worth a 7 million contract, no matter how you want to play with words. C,mon man.
  13. From what I've been reading, there are 4 legitimate QBs in this draft, Burrow, Tua, Love and Herbert. After that they all have flaws. Fromm and Eason bring no running game with them. Fromm is short and doesn't have a strong arm. Smart and brings intangibles but doesn't sound like a future pro starter.
  14. Back then a TE did both catch and block, these days it's more of a specialty thing in passing offenses to have a pass catching TE. It's a rarity to find someone that does both well. Olsen was never good at blocking, M. Bennett was actually good at both.
  15. This is a time where we all dream about what might happen. This would happen only if they give up on MT. I don't think their there yet.
  16. So you think having Burton and Olsen does not matter with potential loss time ? If Burton wasn't injured last year we may not be worrying about signing TEs. At 7 mil , we can't afford to make mistakes this year. The risk factor matters with anyone we add this year. Olsen 3 years ago , I'm all in but 2 injury seasons and 3 years older. Thank God your not the GM.
  17. I like the way Pace attacks adding players. Harris and early Robertson . Not big signing but cheap additions that at least adds depth before FAgency . I think both make the roster that keeps costs down.
  18. Greg is too risky to spend 7 mil on. Injuries limited him the 2 years and his production is sliding the wrong way. Do you really want our 1 2 TEs to be injury risks?
  19. With limited resources in the cap and draft capital I can see us going cheap on filling defensive positions. Could they bring back Bush as a starter and still get a cheap vet for competition? I'f they CAN'T get Kwit on a reasonable deal or Trevathan on the cheap, go with KPL? Bring back RRH and Urbin in the DL and let Williams go if someone wants to pay him. If they let Prince leave go with Robinson or Tolliver at CB? I read an article on Bear Goggles on Floyd and his value. They gave several examples of players breaking out in their 5th year. Dee Ford, Bud Dupree and Barrett come to mind. If you try to sign a good pass rusher they will be anywhere from 10-16 million. So if you offer him a 9-10 million a year contract extension your in the ballpark for his position. If they have 3 new starters at CB, SS, and ILB they may want to stabilize the defense with resigning him. Then use their draft to add offense and an upgrade at TE, RG and QB. Also spend free agency money on filling the offense. As an example: Bring in Ebron at TE Bring in Mariota or Keenum at QB. Bring in a Peat or Blythe to compete with Bars at RG. Also get an inexpensive OLB like JPP or a Jorden Jenkins to add to the pass rush. Then in the draft go with the BPA at OL, QB, OLB, TE or WR.
  20. After the new OL. Coach evaluates Bars we should know that answer by what they do in free agency . They could still bring in a vet and draft pick but at low cost and draft position. Save their money for a starting TE or backup QB with starter potential.
  21. If Kwit gets to big of an offer you think they could bring back KPL as the starter or low ball Trevathan on a couple year deal? Maybe both.
  22. I don't see them paying him anything more than a couple mil on a one year contract. Harris is a good blocking TE but isn't a difference maker so seems they have that in JP Holtz. If I remember they signed Ted Larson over resigning Kush last year. You figure with Bars and Coward they have depth so if they bring in a RG its going to be a upgrade not as a reserve. One that seems to be a better fit and started for the Rams is Austin Brythe that would be cheaper than the three top OG free agents.
