Patterson has played well but if you consider the number of plays he has been in on , I think it's a luxury to have him . Now maybe a user friendly contract extension for a cheaper price would work. The oline needs a makeover but do you honestly see us cutting Massie and Leno with their dead money? I doubt it. So Coward- taking over for Massie , bring in a high pick to play RG and groom Bars to take over for Leno maybe as soon as this year. This is the best scenario I could hope for. Floyd at the current price isn't worth it but mixing in him with a new pass rusher and getting him at a fair price, I think would work out. Do you see a rookie stepping in and playing starter minutes? I doubt it but maybe we get lucky in the draft. We could use the 13 mil to sign a free agent that might get us a good player that could russ the passer. They always get paid a lot in free agency.

Defense: We let Trevathan and HaHa hit free agency. Cut Prince . Resign Kwit , Bush, RRH , N. Williams, A Andersen, Urban and KPL. DB Tolliver takes over for Prince, Bush takes over for HaHa, Shelley and Skine stay. We get one in Free agency and draft one. ILB: resign KPL, Kwit takes over for Trevathan, Woods moves up depth chart. Smith comes back healthy. OLB; Mack and Floyd stays starters, we let Lynch be gone. James Slaughter move up the depth chart , we draft one. DLINE; Hicks come back healthy, Nichols gets back to progressing after being bothered by injuries. Resign Urbin, N. Williams, A . Anderson's and RRH. Goldman is the steady one. Our defense will have some changes and will remain good not be great.

Offense QB options: MT stays bring in Mariota to have option if MT fails. Draft a late round rookie. Option 2: Cut MT, Pay Bridgewater 4 year 90 mil. Bring back Bray and draft a late round pick. Option3: keep MT , bring in Keenum at 6 mil and draft a QB at 2) 45, haven't read much on draft but Matt Miller's big board has Justin Love as the 43rd best player so I will use that for now. At RB Mongomery will play better as the oline goes. Cohen is still under contract and they keep Nall. ( brings in 1 UDFA) OL: Long is gone, Bars- Coward- Lucas compete with Massie and Leno. We draft a OT and IOL. . We have to much invested in oline to pay in free agency. TE: we resign Holtz and Hoested. Burton comes back on a restructured contact .Raymond comes off the practice squad and we draft one. WR: We redo a contract with ARob, let go of Patterson and Gabriel. Miller , Wims and Ridley move up the depth chart. We draft one.

Probably a bad time to do this after a bad game but I have a lot of free time in Thailand. First of all as much as Nagy and Pace has a bad year but there not going anywhere. So trying to create that chaos is a waste of time. For 2020 we have 12.5 in cap space. 1. Cut Long saves us 8 mil. The rest of the line isn't going anywhere cap hits would be terrible for them. 2. At WR give ARob a new contract to reduce this years cap hit of 13 mil. ( reduce cap hit to 9 this year.)Cut Gabriel 4.5 , and Patterson to save 5 mil 3. Floyd is not a pass rusher but can play football. Due a contract of say 3 year= 27 mil with only 10 guaranteed. Saves 4 mil.. 4. Cut Prince to save 8 mil. 5. Get rid of Ben B and Shaheen save 2.7 mil. Go to Burton and redo his contract (7.5 if we cut him). It could be said injuries derailed this year. ) he is guaranteed 8 mil over the next 2 seasons. Give him a third year and guarantee 12 and pay 6 mil this year and next with team option in year 3. Save 2.5 each of next 2 years. Comes back healthy to compete. Option 2) cut and lose 7.5 mil. 6. Resign these free agents RRH, Holtz, Hoersted, AAnderson , N. William's, Bush, Urbin , kwit, KPL . total cap hit 20 mil. 7. They suggest caps goes up 8 mil Total cap space 48.7 est. Not sure of dead money carry over I think we can sign one big contract TE or EDGE. Plus get a backup QB. Mariota at 1 year 14 mil. OPTION 2 cut MT and save 9 mil , go get Bridgewater at 4 year 22 a year. (Pace won't let that happen. ) continued

I think Bars takes over somewhere next year . I would say RG , LT or RT. Lucas is a backup but played okay. How would Bars/ LT, Whitehair /LG- Daniels back at center, 2nd round RG and Coward at RT. How would that look to you guys. Massie and Leno backups for the year and then both cut at the end of next year.

I think the first 2 picks will be a Pass Rusher and a QB prospect. I think if it fits we move back to get an extra pick. I think if the draft falls right , we could be looking at a TE ot OL also. I think Trevathan is gone unless he does a team friendly contract but we resign Kwit to take over as a starter. I hate to see Trevathan gone but the cap hot for Mack starts next year. They will add a TE but unfortunately I don't see in the second round. I think they count on Burton back healthy ( would have to eat his contract), Jasper and Holtz will be back and one new TE. Maybe Raymond will get a chance to play. Ebron and Henry are free agents this year but will not spend a large contract on a TE until Burton is done as important as that position is to Nagy. Drafting a PRusher is critical for us to let Floyd walk. Floyd's 5th year tagged is only guaranteed for injury so I could see either a team friendly contract or a trade going out the door. Probably a 6th rounder. They kept Vaughters around maybe he does something. I don't think they bring back Lynch. This offseason is going to be tricky.

As much as I agree we need changes, I doubt with everyone on the oline being paid that we eat contracts. With Whitehair and Daniels the youngest that is what we will build off of going forward. Coward has played better as of late so I suspect he will be given every chance to succeed but with competition. The completion will be Bars and a new face. Draft or FAency. Bars and Lucas will be competing with Massie and Leno. We definitely draft one but doubt it will be with the first 2 picks. I suspect we're looking at the same starting five again. If the play sucks as this year their will be options behind them to take over. The top 4 OTs will be gone before we draft so drafting in the second round doesn't guarantee a starter. So I think they just go for a prospect later in the draft. The second round will either be a top grade OG ( if they give up on Coward) or a pass rusher. The draft will have a few in round 2. I think they grab a QB prospect also, in case MT doesn't succeed. So I see the best we can hope for is a top tier OG.

His leadership on the field is what we need the most. Whether is 100% or not , the defensive coordinator has to account for him.
-
I think with the success of last year, Nagy figured to move forward with his offense but MT playing poor, the Oline problems, it fell apart and he couldnt get out of his own way. I think he is learning just like his players and is putting them in better position to succeed. It would be nice if we won out and made the playoffs but with a 5% chance, not likely but at least come together as a team and play better which bodes well for next year.
-
This was his best game of the year. He used MT properly, he mixed in the running game, got the TEs involved and stayed aggressive. Finally everything moved fluidly. The only play I didn't like was the wildcat with Patterson.
-
I think we add a OT this off season but we are more likely to make changes from our current roster. Bars and Lucas would be up next. We are not getting rid of Massie and Leno because of cap space so I doubt we add a FA, it would just be a high draft pick. Coward has been up and down, but has the potential to keep the RG spot. It may be that we draft a replacement at RG if he grades out bad the rest of the year. Because of his contract Burton will be back here. Injuries have blocked his usefulness. Hopefully he can come back healthy next year. If he has a year like his first year that would be a good thing. We will still add a player here . Jasper may work his way in as a starter next year. Floyd can be offered a contract that absorbs his fifth year money. He is a good player just not a pass rusher so his money has to be team friendly. Lets say we let him go, then who? A second round draftee? Can we count on that.
-
If we resign Floyd for a team friendly contract, I am good with him being here. If you let him go, who is starting. I suspect Lynch isnt here anymore. None of the young players are ready for prime time. A rookie in the 2nd or 4th round? We would have to be real lucky to get a starter there.
-
Floyd is not worthy of his draft position but he is a good player, just not the pass rusher everyone expected. I can see us resigning him to a team friendly contract. Danny will not be able to be kept due to the cap space available. We will resign Kwit to a fair contract and play him instead of Trevathan next year. Prince is gone, someone will have to step up. Because of his contract, I see us not getting rid of Burton also. We pretty well have a full cap hit, so lets just hope he gets well enough to play. So next year we keep Jasper, Burton, Holtz and a new guy. Maybe Raymond can be good . Tolliver or Shelly will have to move up on the depth chart. We can see we need people everywhere but the draft only has so many spots. OL will be intact with maybe Bars being able to take over for Leno and Coward and Lucas playing well enough to improve our depth. We are stuck here because of everyone on the OL have contracts. One of our first two picks may be a OT. I would say Gabriel is gone and cutting Patterson would save 5.3 mil. To bad the offense has not been able to give Patterson a role, he could be very helpful overall as a gimmick. Daniel will not be back, and if we lose anymore, would like to see Bray brought up to see if can play. We will be bringing in completion for MT. Either Tannehill or Mariota.
-
They havent put it together yet but some parts are improving. 6-6 now and just worry about winning next week in a winnable game. Lets say we get better and lucky and go 10-6. It is much better than going 6-10 and us not improve the rest of the year. Playoffs are probably never going to happen but might as well be a better team going down the road.
-
The trade back is definitely the best case scenario . Since I think the first two picks are going to be a QB and TE, neither will probably start next year so this draft will be anticlimactic . So we get some OL prospects, CB and ILB. It will be tough to find a starter on the tail end of the draft. The new starters are going to come from the depth we have on a team now. OL Maybe they start Bars at LT and Coward keeps his spot at RG. Nothing else to see here. CB Prince will be gone, so I say Toliever is next up. I doubt if Joel Iggy takes over for Trevathan a sure cap hit. So that leaves resigning Kwiat and let him play there which would be a ok move. TE-Here is hoping Jasper shows something, or we're hosed. Maybe Burton can get well this year( a clear problem) because his contract calls for a big cap hit if gone.

It was a sham, the whole purpose was to have Nike promote a commercial. He had the waiver on Weds to sign as far as no media. He waits to the last minute to try to make the NFL look bad. He is all about look at me, how serious can you take him to actually play for a team, when he is always promoting his own agenda.

Not to undermine the incident, contact with the helmet was the neck cushion at the back of the helmet. That is why there was no damage. Bad move thou.

I would like to see Horsted.
-
I think with not knowing how good he might be and I think last time someone talked to his agent he was on the 10 mil a year contract. A little to much for most likely a backup.
-
I think most people think he is better than most of the backups in the league and maybe a few starters but that is a big assumption. First he is athletic but he was never an accurate passer. Anyone that signs him will have hoards of attention that will distract from the team. The questions will be( what is it like to play with the social justice warrior Kap), instead of (how are you going to slow down Aaron Rodgers). It will be a circus for the team. On saying that we should at least take a look, maybe he is better than Chase.( I wouldnt do it)
-
In the last 16 games, Goff has 16 TDs, 16 ints-16 fumbles. At least this year lets us see MT for who he is and hopefully Pace doesnt decide to pay him.
-
All in on that one. Burton not healthy, put him on IR and see what Horsted can do.
-
Actually in this defense, the two ILBs should always lead the team in tackles. Smith lead the team in Ts. If you focus on Mack, he literally gets held on every play. He always has two people pay attention to him. Double team, chip, or crash him. No excuses, future HOFers have to overcome that. Also they devise schemes to take Mack out of the plays. Roll out opposite him, quick throws. We need the rest of the team to step up and that will take the attention away from Mack. I think next year we keep Kwit even with his pass defense liabilities. His good overcomes his negatives. Plus will be a lot cheaper. Skine was a good signing, he's a player and his contract will keep him here for at least next year and that is a good thing. HaHa is playing better than Jackson. Maybe we resign him and dont give Jackson the big money he expects? Something to think about. Individually Harris , Nichols and RRH look good, but as a whole just not what Hicks brought to this team. The defense is still good just not great.
