If we were asked a question before they hired a coach last year( would you like a coach that goes 15-9 in his first 24 games )? I think we would all say (hell yeah). The season isnt over yet but I think most of us has lost our expectations of being very good. Last year going 12-4 , there was not much adversary , things went our way. Now we get to see what we got is how everyone deals with a losing streak. I think they turn this around whether its enough to get us into the playoffs. The story isnt complete yet.

I think he is a good player but not great as where we drafted him. So keep him but give him 5 or 6 mill a year. He in not much of a pass rusher but does everything else well. If you notice he has been in pass coverage a lot more this year.
-
I agree with your opinions AZ. We got so hyped up over last year(unexpected) that we are in a boom or doom state of mind. We had some positives in our game but they are overshadowed by the mistakes. Last year we caught almost all the breaks this year we are getting dinged every time we turn around. On defense all the studs from last year are not preforming at the same level. Trev is playing well, Mack is being schemed out of most plays and the problem is no one else is stepping up. Hicks is the one that took the pressure off of Mack. Nagy is the biggest problem, he is not adjusting to his team and keeps insisting on his creative plays when we need the I formation and play action passing. He doesnt trust his QB that he is stuck in a limbo state of play calling. He is a pass first mentality and needs to just run the ball like he did Sunday. The passing game will improve if he gives this team a run first mentality. MT is an average QB that he schemed well enough last year to win. He needs to get off the I am going to outsmart people and just play the game that works. The defense played well enough to win . The offense made to many mistakes to overcome . Nagy had a bad day of calling plays and that needs to change.
-
I think maybe MT has to many voices in the room. Nagy, Helfrich, Rogane and Brad Childress. I think it puts pressure on him. Nagy is the key, forget your offense and get MT in the best position to succeed. Smith has still his demons bothering him, we could use him.
-
As a coach, where do you go from here? Simplify the game, roll MT to the left or right and have one option to throw or to run. Have quick throws before wrs get covered, less time to think. Have run plays designed for MT. All of this takes a player out of the defense because they will have to shadow MT. Run, run, run at least then the defense can rest some.
-
He easily could have took off to the right and avoided Jordan and still had a throw option to Miller. He did the only bad decision that was available, hold the ball.

At 3-3 we are writing off this season but there is still time for a turn around. I think every time you write someone off they have a bounce back. MT seems a long way form a franchise QB but utilize what he does well and put him in a better position to win. Run the ball, it helps MT with less touches to screw up and rests the defense. I think a big problem is Nagy expects for his offense to work and the OL plays bad, MT has an injury and no confidence, and Nagy is stubborn to make changes. You add penalties and a defense that is looking for answers and this is what we have. There is to many good players on defense for this not to improve. Nagy needs to simplify the offense, stick with the run, and have some plays for MT to run the ball. Move the pocket, stop this giving the defense the same answer on how to stop us. Change up. I heard on the radio where someone said to temporarily bench A-Rob so it forces MT to throw to someone else.

I am not sure you can count on a QB with a up and down past that has not played for 3 years to be anybodies savior. Kap is a part of the NFL history that I do not think will ever play again. He sued his employer and that wont happen again. He is not just black balled but forgotten by owners. So where do we go from here? After the Viking game, our defense was playing well the offense sputtered but had some hope of getting better. After losing Hicks we expect it to drop a little but I think the last few games the defense has been on the field so long the fatigue has shown in the second half of games. It was 12-10 at halftime and fell apart in the second half. I think the defense isnt so far away from being relevant but the offense shows no signs of hope. Bench MT? Will that help? Maybe Nagy needs to turn over the play calling to someone else? He has been terrible the last few games. There is no players we can bring in to chance our fortunes. How about a wildcat offense? Sounds stupid but at least its an attempt at change. Put Chase in at QB? Why not, the MT thing is at least stalled in progress right now. Actually run the ball 25 times a game? That's a thought. Anyone remember last year when we went on that run of victories Howard got a lot of touches, we were successful in the run game. The truth is Nagy needs to change his horizontal run game into a run north and south offense and maybe we can keep the defense off the field enough to get a whole game out of them. A few notes: R. Smith looks like something is going on in his head, he seems tentative They actually had a TE sighting yesterday. Go to the 2 TE offense and pound the ball, maybe we have different results.

I think Davis is fine, its the OL that is causing the problems. It all comes together today.
-
I think with the malfunction of the offense, the TE has not been scheme very well. Its like having a V8 and it only running on 4 cylinders. As the OL becomes more consistent, the running gets better , the passing game opens up and the TE becomes relevant.
-
Lots of people got some guarantees , you cant just cut some of them. Good news Karmara isnt probably going to play this weekend.
-
The depressing attitude I see is like we are 1-4 or 0-5? 3-2 and had a chance to win both of those other games. We had such high expectations that every game win or lose is doomsday or going to the SB. The fact is its hard to win in the NFL, I see us winning more games than we lose, it will play out. Before the season started if we knew we were playing NO without Brees we would be elated. We just need to relax and let it play out. WE still have good players on this team and one bad game by the defense, its all win win to me. The OL? that is what bothers me and will determine out winning or losing.
-
With Nichols coming back it will help a great deal, but you cant replace Hicks, you just have to grin and bear it.
-
You are drafting for need right now and we definitely pick some OL high, a TE and a QB prospect in the first 3 picks. Forget our position at this point and lets say we are mildly successful going forward and have a 10-6 record which would mean someone starting playing better at our weak positions. So for an optimistic view of our teams weaknesses. OL: Long will be gone, saying Coward takes over there, he is young and physical so I think he becomes a good player. Whitehair and Daniels gets their shit together and start playing well. We are stuck with Leno and Massie with their contracts but we have Bars in the wings to start taking over for Leno is he still sucks. So I think we draft a OT high and a OG in the middle rounds for depth. TE: Burton will hang around because of his contract but injuries has affected his a great deal. Shaheen is considered a bust because of his high draft status, but he still could turn out to be a roistered player going forward just not a #1 or #2. We have Sowell and Braunnecker who are just players. We also have Raymond on IR and Horsted on PS. If Burton continues to not produce , I think they end up bringing up Jasper and he does well. We have enough backups to choose from but I think we draft a TE high. ILB: I think we draft a player high at this position but that we work out a 1 or 2 year deal with Trevathan that is team friendly. QB: Whether MT looks good or bad the rest of the year, we draft a QB and keep him around and let go of Daniel.
-
I dont think looking back at a draft to say this is who we could have gotten is quite fair in judging a GM. Every draft looks bad if you do that. I think you have to base it on who he drafted and how successful you have become. Did you become a winning team? Yes , there is 4 ways to build a team, FA, draft, UDFA, and trades. As much as he would not grade well individually but has brought us a winner. As a team that is 3-2, we look down on our expectations. I think the season has to play out and then make a proper judgement. Last year we were 3-3 before we took off and never had 12-4 expectations. If you say you did you are lying. I think we have enough stars, enough good players and good coaches to at make the playoffs this year. 10 or maybe 11 wins, but there is a possibility we get our shit together and go with 12 wins again. We just dont know. As far as drafting, he has missed on White, Floyd is a good player but not a stud, probably on a redraft would go late first or early 2nd. To be honest the jury is still out on MT, this will be the year he defines his legacy. Smith so far looks like a star as long as he gets his head back in the game. DM looks like a good player. I always think as least 3 years before we can truly judge a player. With the players we hit on in his drafts later in the draft, I would give him a C+ as a drafter but we are a winning team, so we have to grade this as a whole and I give him a B+ for building a winner.
-
Sowell has a guaranteed contract so they can move him back and forth and not affect anything. No one is going to pick him up anyways.
-
they have used Holtz as a FB on a few plays also.

Last year we were 3-3 before we went on a run. Nagy has 7 losses and 15 wins, I think its been a team failure and he will get it together. The OL screws up everything, and that will change with Long out and better communication with the line. Hopefully MT stays healthy, he is the best QB on the roster. We have lost by 1-3-6-3-1-7-3. We are in every game even when we have played bad.Every game either way is usually decided by 5 plays in each game. We need to clean up penalties and have more consistency by OL and QB., . We need to be more efficient in the running game then we will be on the side of wins.
-
If Larsen stays healthy, he will be the first option. At least Larsen has a attitude he brings. Another thought is bringing Bars up when they shelve Long and get him ready to play if Leno keeps up the shitty play.
-
We need both of them brought up. The OL is screwing our offense up. No push in the run game, to many penalties and missed blocks.
-
Its very obvious that the overseas trip affected there play. In the second half the OL gave Daniel more time . Clearly our OL is wreaking our offense. Leno alone probably contrived more to the loss than any other player. Roquan played terrible, what ever his problem was, it is still with him. Out of position, couldnt tackle. Not good. We are not as bad as we looked on this day, or not as good as we looked against Minny. Right now 9 wins maybe. So how do we fix it? MT needs to be healthy. They need to replace Leno with Bars and accept his rookie mistakes. They need to replace Long with Coward and hope for the best. I think the defense will take care of itself. If they have one bad game out of 5, we can probably over come that. The Oline is killing any kind of offensive rhythm and allowing no punch in the run. Clearly when you have an oversea game, you need to go early.

Well well well , roquin Smith practiced today and will be playing Sunday. Now the question that will never be answered, why he missed the game.

Schefter: Roquan Smith was not himself at practice

Kwit played well on the running game but I think Oak will scheme to test him in the passing game. Piere-Louis backed him up and played well, so I think we have the spot covered. If Smith is out indefinitely, that is not a good sign. If it was a legal issue, or a disciplinary issue, it would have been already defined. So this is a mental issue and that could take some time.
