Schefter: Roquan Smith was not himself at practice
Stinger226 replied to DABEARSDABOMB's topic in Bearstalk
I think if it had something to do with an accident or some incident with the law that would be outed already. I think if it was a death in the family or of a friend that someone would have found that out to add to the story. A few things that it could be. Maybe it has something to do with a girlfriend? cheated on him or dumped him, a lot of guys let that effect him a lot. It could be something as simple as his parents getting divorced? (not sure if that applies ) Maybe a brother was being outed as gay? (dont know if that applies) A lot of things can mess with someones mind these days, hard to speculate on (personal issues). From everything that was known about him coming out of college, he was a hard working stand up guy. A leader and stable so its going to be something coming out of left field. If it was some kind of attitude problem, I think we would have noticed it the preseason. -
The reason why Chase is here because he knows the offense. Kap no way will be an option because of his lack of knowledge of the system. Bray is next, if they bring another guy in, it will be someone that has been involved in this system. Dont know if anyone is out there but that would be an option. Another option I see is us running a wildcat type of offense to get us threw a game with maybe Cohen or Patterson as the lead. Just saying. The main breakdown of the offense is the shitty OL play. When you dont open holes and your QB is constantly under fire, their is no way the offense runs efficiently. I think with Daniels moving to center, it has to do with communication along the line and also Long is our worst OL and I see him being replaced soon. I think the line can be fixed as Daniels getting better with communication the line calls and Coward taking over for Long.

I think a lot of it is Daniels calling the plays out and their is a communication problem. Long is probably done, so move to Coward who played more snaps than Larson.

Last year Cousins was 50-79, 394 yards, 3 TDs, 2 ints, 6 sacks in two games. I think with us being more aggressive on pressure, we force him into TOs. He had 9 fumbles and 10 ints last year. So far this year he has 4 fumbles and 2 ints. in 3 games on only 63 passing attempts. His one road game against the Packers he was sacked once with 7 pressures, had 2 int and 2 fumbles. I see him committing at least 2 TOs and being sacked 5 times. Also he had only 43 % passing efficiency in that game on 32 atts. Cook run for 154 yards but Cousins was forced to throw because they were behind . If we get pressure on him and hold Cook under 100 yards we will win this game.

First of all, any wins on the road is a great accomplishment, overall that is hard to do for most teams. Skrine has played well, other than Fuller has been our best DB. Having another playmaker in the DBackfield will help against Cousins with HaHa. To note, Calahan is having surgery after not playing all year. Injuries to Hicks and Nichols are worrisome but with Mack at full speed and Goldman playing well, we will be able to stop the run for the most part. Cook 16 for 68 yards and no TDs. Pay attention to N. Williams , he can play that is why we kept him around.By the way Hunter is one of the best DEs in the league, not sure what you mean by he is an (up and comer)? He has been around 5 years and has 40 total sacks in his first 4 seasons. The key to our offense doing well against them is having balance on offense. Adam you always do a good job with stats.

We had high expectations coming out of the preseason, but the truth is we are still a ascending team and will be better as the season goes forward. The OL has been messy, but I think they get their act together as it fixes its parts. With Daniels moving to center I think there has been some communication problems that will be fixed soon. Long has lost it and soon will be replaced by someone, not Larson. Leno has ok except for penalties and will get his act together. Burton is getting healthier and is a key to our offensive scheme. Nagy will figure out getting Miller and Cohen more plays. Montgomery gets more involved going forward. Defensively we are a mirror to last year for its first 3 games. •Total Points Allowed: 55 •Total Sacks: 14 •Turnovers: 7 2019 Chicago #Bears Defense Weeks 1-3: •Total Points Allowed: 39 •Total Sacks: 11 •Turnovers: 6

We're back in business if we win Sunday.

I agree with everything you say. They have been getting beat one on one all year, we can say Long doesnt have it anymore but what is the excuse for the rest of the line. They have totally affected our offensive rhythm. MT has his own faults but if this totally affects his poise and consistency overall. I believe the run game is affected a lot by no fullback. I see they have been playing the new TE as a H back to compensate for no FB. I think Nagy figures it out, but it has a long way to go.

I'll going to the beach on an island I visited, Koy Samet, and seen this resort, green bay colors so I know it is not a coincidence of words. You'll have to blow it up to see it, I blew a closer shot. Also I screwed up by coming home on Tuesday the 24th, the Monday night game (bears) will be on while traveling so I will missing the game. I forgot when I booked that there is 12 hours difference in time. Monday night 7 is Tuesday morning 7. Lessons learned I hope.

This was an ugly game but we won that's the most important factor. Going on the road against a former coach in a loud stadium with high altitude and 90 degree weather . A win no matter how you do it is acceptable. Lots of things to complain about but several good things happened, Trubisky at the most critical point of the game made several plays to get us to the point of kicking a field goal . We now can put away the lack of confidence in our kicking game. We had a balanced attack for a change instead of 75% passing against nickel defenses. Defense played well until the fourth quarter when they were gassed because of the heat and altitude. In 2 games they only have 24 points scored against them without any help from the offense. The oline needs the most work that affects all aspects of the sluggish offense but all of this is doable.

I'm not sure he took it out of his hands , they had several throws down field. You have to have a balanced attack, last week we threw to much when GB was in nickel all game. I think this one pushes the offense in a much better place. Trubisky took us 45 yards in 31 seconds with one timeout and the smart's to call a timeout as soon as the WR was on the ground . That's going to boast the confidence level up for MT. Plus we now trust our kicker. With Washington up next I see the offense scoring lots of points.
