They rated the best free agents left to sign. Another thing is he will be considered the 3rd edge on the team . I think he thinks he will be the best edge on the team where ever he goes. Ego probably comes in to play and it's always about money.
-
How many coaches around that may notice he is doing something wrong. I doubt he is the problem. I think the problem has to do with where we kick. The lakefront is brutal with wind patterns. I'm curious if I can find the stats for kicking here and away games. I'll check it out.
-
I agree but they may accept the cost for continuity instead of the unknown of a new punter. I'm for the risk but I'm not the GM.
-
The prize is Houston , I think we're waiting for him to accept an offer and his other options. There are a few other edges out there. Shane Ray and Derrick Morgan had some good years but injuries have produced very little the last few years. Then lynch could be back. I think the Houston signing could be problematic on the growth of Floyd who could have his much waited for breakout year. So I think it comes down to money for Houston.

He is here on basically a one year deal, and when your up against a cap, you can't always get first choice. I think his durability is a huge part of the signing. A C player for 16 weeks , or a B player for 10? Also its funny how everyone praises Amos mainly because of the PFF ratings and I noticed they gave a better grade to HaHa for last year. We may have our replacements already here in Tolliver and Joseph. They just may need another year of seasoning.

I think there are better TE choices that can block than Boykin. I really doubt Sanders is available. I think Henderson may make it to our choice, but my, be able to get, would be Pollard.
-
I totally agree and his play will prove that out.
-
There will be a rookie in the mix. Although I don't want to see Howard gone, if feels like he will be a draft day traded player.
-
Absolutely, but that's football.
-
Pagano has a more aggressive approach to the defense, Skrine is a more physical player that may be a little better at blitzing. The bottom line is Callahan didn't take their offer so they moved on.
-
There just waiting for Houston to take the one year 7 mil offer.
-
I would bet the orginal price was higher when Callahan talked to the bears, probably wanted 9 10 mil., it went down as others got signed, his price went down. So they looked at 9 mil not 7 mil and looked at his injury history.
-
That's what happens when you try to catch up to the division leaders.
-
I suspect his price when down deeper in free agency I would guess everything comes down to money. Statistically their very close. Lets Amos gets 7 a year on a 4 year
-
We signed a little known WR Marvin Hall, he will be grooved to replace Gabriel, he has 4.28 speed.
-
I think the next signing is a edge rusher, then if Callahan asking price drops, he may be back.
-
I agree, next year we could be having 2 all pro return men . He will used similar to Cohen, all over the place. At 6'2 218 lbs , much more durable.
-
I love Pollard, watch a lot of tape on him, he can be got with a later pick.
-
This is a upgrade over Amos, he signed for less money on prove it deal to be here. We now have a better defense than last year. Now just find a edge rusher and boom.
-
If you leave PPF out of it, most consider HaHa as a better player than Callahan. I think the key to signing him is the money. There were in on Weddle, so by his contract, I would say they want to pay 5 mil for the SS spot. Will Haha play for that , maybe. I think playing with Jackson and the best defense in the league , maybe he takes a 1 year deal to boast his value and get a payday next year like Amos. I would say a 1 year deal for 6 mil. last year, he had 92 ts, 3 int , 6 pds, 2 FF. He has 14 ints in 6 years. Definitely a better player. Then we draft a SS to take his place after this year.

We have Howard, Cohen, Davis and Patterson. If we trade Howard on draft day, we in turn will draft a RB. Even if we don't make a trade we are still going to draft a RB, so we go into camp with 4 or 5 plus Nall is still a practice squad nominee. Last year we ran the ball 468 times. As the offense progresses we end up with more overall plays so I will leave this number about the same. HOWARD or draft pick-- 200 Carrie's Cohen had 117 last year, so we give him 100 Davis-- 100 Patterson-- 40 Trubisky had 67 last year, but let's say 40 this year. Nagy likes to mix it up so I think it will not be a load type of back anymore. I think Davis is capable of being the 200 Carrie's guy in our offense. I have watched every tape I can find on him and I think at 219 lbs and few injuries history , he can be the guy. In the draft, I like, in order of importance, Henderson/ Memphis Sanders/PS Love/ Stan Pollard/ Memphis I think the Alabama RBS are gone, and probably Henderson and Sanders. So my choices would be Love in the 4th round or Pollard in the 5th. So I would target Pollard in the 5th given us 3 and 4 to fills what ever needs we don't fill in FA. So I predict we get a 5th for Howard on draft day. and draft Pollard in the 5th. So Davis- 200 Cohen- 100 Pollard- 100 Patterson and Trubisky-- 80 Gabriel, Miller-- 10

Yes, compare their numbers at the end of the year. As a 5th WR, he is not going get 40 rec but he will be making some big plays . As a RB, he will get 40 touches and have about a 6 yard average depending on whether we keep Howard or not.

The biggest impact is his takes one CB out of the play and freezes the FS with his speed, open the field up for everybody else. A total matchup nightmare when he is on the field. The money seems a little more than we would like to spend but that's what 28 yr old vets get. Bellamy signed a 2 yr 7 mil deal, CP is 2 yr 10 mil. Who would you rather have.
-
If you remember the bear game last year, he had a fumble but also had a 95 TDs return. You could say we lost the game because of him. Besides being the best return man in the league , he can be our 4th RB, as a career 7.9 average. Also as a 5th Wr he can stretch the field with speed. Imagine him and Robinson going downfield with Taylor Gabriel across the middle with Cohen and Burton running loose. Who you going to leave open as a DC,? The speed he has creates tough match up problems. If your running a reverse would prefer a small Gabriel or a 218 lb faster runner.
