If Callahan doesn't get the free agent attention his agent thinks he will, how much will the bears resign him for? I'm thinking 3 year 15 mil. 1----4 mil 2-----5 mil 3-----6 mil 6 million guaranteed.

Using GNBD, I did a mock of our first 3 rounds bears draft.

Speed always gets over drafted. Some win , many lose. -
If we end up with Pollard, I suspect he gets more touches than Howard, as the versatile player Nagy wants Mizzell to be.
-
I hope Long has a healthy year, makes our OL top 5 for year. Daniels takes giant step forward.
-
I keep throwing this out there. The 2 RBs from Memphis, Pollard and Henderson. Will be studs in our offense. I think we resign Callahan but not Amos. I now have no problem taking a RB anywhere to replace Mizzell. Pollard in 5th would be awesome. SS in 4th , backup OL in 6th. As far as OL . Witzmann and bringing Allen off PS will fill OL need for now.

We have to remember that Pace had leftover scouting dept from previous regime. After year one he put his guys in place. After first year he has been smoking the drafts. In last 2 years has added core players for years to come. Made mistakes along the way but being aggressive key.

Chances were against us getting him anyway, try to find a good at a cheaper price. Hard to do.
-
This is all good for saving money but it doesn't address the fact he has been injured for 3 years straight. We need to add a potential starter caliber to back him up and possibly be a swing OT also. A few of them in the draft.

Something to do in Thailand for 4 months being bored.

At 77 , I beg him no harm for doing what ever it takes to be human.
-
Less dead money than I originally thought.

I think Pollard is the player Nagy wants Mizzell to be. The dude can run.

Never knew about the glennon angle, way cool.

There are several players that could fit well. I personally like Tony Pollard/ Memphis. Checks all the boxes

Long hasn't had a full season for the last 3 years. Witzmann played okay, but were back to trying to replace him in the season. So get his replacement and give a year to grow. If Long is injured again this year , do you think the Bears will bring him back at 9 million a year? That won't happen. You have another young player that can get with Daniels and Whitehair for a long time. -
I used the GBND big board to do our first 3 picks. I went up 10 spots and down 10 to decide who to pick to give a value specify draft. 3rd. 88 Cris lindstrom/ OG/ BC I think he will replace Long in our starting lineup either during to injury or next year when we cut Long. 4th 114. Devin Singletary/RB/ Flor Atlantic. He is quick and very capable of becoming a Hunt type of back. 5th 138. Nasir Adderley S/ Delaware. The kid can play , looked great in the senior bowl. Give it a shot: https://gbnreport.com/preliminary-top-50-prospects-for-2019/

Looks good. I think the powers that will be , will do diligentence and find a good RB to add at a good value. I personally can see Tony Pollard from Memphis being a Alvin Kamara type of draft pick. Had to share time with another good RB and his upside has not been shown yet. Would love to see him in the 4th round. We need to find a 3rd round OL to transition from long after this year.
-
To be honest didn't look at the money, you make sense.
-
I think with his production he would be gotten with a 5th or maybe 4th. I think we simply draft BPA at our first 3 draft picks in any position. I think there are replacements on our team at CB. Tolliver, Franklin, Joseph, or Mincey. Bush would be the starter at SS. I think we get a S in free agency if Amos doesn't comeback. Many to choose from . The free agent market for safeties is loaded: Landon Collins Earl Thomas Lamarcus Joyner Tyrann Mathieu Adrian Amos Ha-Ha Clinton-Dix Clayton Geathers Glover Quin Tre Boston Kenny Vaccaro George Iloka Jimmie Ward Adrian Phillips So I think we fill those positions before the draft. So we could use depth ( in order of importance) OL- S- CB- RB- TE- QB at BPA.

He's 5.9 210. In his career he has never been given the lead roll. In 4 years he has rushed for 1286 yards for a 4.3 average. 239 catches 2170 yards 9.2 ypc. Total 12 TDs. He is not a power back but I think he would fit well in our system as a compliment to Howard and Cohen. In 2017 before Chubb got there he had 1041 total yards with 7 TDs. I think if we drafted a 5th round back that contributed those stats, we would say that was a success.
-
Now that Hunt is in Cleveland, would you trade a 5th round pick for Duke Johnson? I think he would fit in quite well in Nagys offense.
-
It doesn't always work this way , but he is a true #1 instead of getting a player falling off with new contracts. As the offense grows he will show better stats.
-
Since Amos is going to get paid 6-8 mil a year, I don't see him back. He has played well but isn't a playmaker, so that should not be hard to replace. Bush is the obvious choice and may do well, but keep this name in mind. Clayton Geathers, 6.2 220 , had 87 tackles last year with 3 PDs and 1 forced fumble. He was drafted by Pagano in Indy and will not command a big contract.
