Possibly, but if you miss, you have Bush to rely on. I think there is a lot of good safeties out there this year and only the first few will get big contracts. I suspect that leaves Amos on a deal we could bring him back for. Then also draft one and build our depth. We actually could do an upgrade at the position with the leftover ss may want to play on the top D in the league.

Sounds a lot like Amos, but cheaper.

I think bringing back lynch isn't a bad idea, give him a 2 two deal with 5 guaranteed and hope he stays healthy.

I seen someone on bleacher report suggest the bears trade for vic Beasley for a 3rd round pick this year? I would say no, it would hamper Floyd's breakout year.
-
I don't think he is a starter for most clubs. Today teams are looking for more speed and although he is a decent player, he will have the kind of the career Ocho has had.

Reid has a better coaching tree but Belichick is the better coach. BB is unique and may not be a good teacher but may be the best ever.

I agree but don't think anyone is going to give up draft capital for a backup ILB.

14-1 odds the bears make the Super bowl next year

I have the same type of sense of humor and can tell when your serious or kidding. I think , barring injuries we have the manpower to make it to the Super bowl. -
I'm all in on that. As soon as I get back from Thailand, I'm putting 500 down on that. Am I stupid?
-
They played him in several spots to try to get some use out of him. Who was the aging viking we signed as an edge rusher that failed. Same scenario.
-
Cost will matter, if he gets 4 or more a year , we will pass. Already paying 5 this year for nothing.
-
First of all NO, if he's going to work cheap, he will be back in GB. Secondly he has lost a step. How much you give him for 4 sacks this year, maybe.
-
If they tag him, we would have to give up 2 1st picks to get him.
-
I was referring to Cowards raise and contract now Massie. You figure we sign one of the 2 DBs and everyone back but one starter. It can't get much better than that.
-
It's a large raise but won't even in our top 50 contracts to count against the cap.
-
Being on the roster and never playing not going to get you much money anyway.
-
If Coward progresses, I can see Sowell let go. Grab more cap space. Does he back up Leno? I thought he was just a RT.
-
Gould could get tagged by SF, they want him back. He will be looking for more money. I don't see him coming. Jones may be the new kicker going forward and cheap.
-
I would say with Sims leaving, a blocking TE, cheap in FA. I think we already have on team our upgrades at OL, Dejon Allen and Coward. Beavers may be developing into a swing OT. Also we have a few CBs that we are developing, tolliver, Joseph, Franklin and Mincy. I think our pipeline comes from them. We need to draft some S prospects. We tend to overlook who we already have, eager to add new, our future starters may already be here.

I think Nagy has the relationship with Hunt so all of this is possible. I think after Hunt receives his punishment, the team will sign off on him . I say a 6 game suspension considering his time off from football already and replaces Mizzell on the field after week 6.
-
Someone had an interview with Carney about Jones.

Plus , I don't recall Massie missing a game . It tells us Coward is not ready. Interesting to see contract structure. Maybe after one year we can out? He played better with HH around.

With the of DCs there is some doubts of how it will affect our defense. Fangio was great but remember he was the DC under Fox and it didn't look as good because the horses were not in place. Pagano comes in with the team still ascending. As the offense gets better , it will benefit the D. More ball control and more points puts the D in a better position to be more aggressive which fits Pagano to a tee. He will blitz more than Fangio. Player positions: CBs- Fuller is in his prime and should remain there for a few more years. Prince should have one more solid year before he tapers off. Callahan may be back if not , we will add a new face or go with Tolliver more in the slot. That is probably the only spot that may be a step back. I think we could be bringing back Callahan because of his injury history may not get a big contract offer. If we lose him , I think we should look at Jimmy Ward, who was a first round selection that has not lived up to expectations as a FS but we may be able to slip in the SCB role with little lost at a moderate contract. Or a possible draft pick. McManus at his age probably can not expect him to play as well as last year. Ss- Jackson is ascending and if he stays healthy will produce better than last year. Amos may be gone but usually SSs dont get big contracts plus many Ss hit free agency this year. So mark that position as plus with better upside. I think Bush could play at the level of Amos with more experience. OLBs- Mack should be better with a complete offseason. Floyd is ascending and could turn into great this season. I think we should try to keep Lynch , give him a 2 yr 8 million deal plus Irving is getting better. This position is a plus plus. ILBs- Trevathan is a steady better than average pro. Smith will ascend quickly to an all pro this year. Kwit is very average as a backup but I can see Joel Iggy as an ascending player possibly taking Trevathans place in 2 years. This is a plus plus. DL- Goldman still has room to improve, Hicks is a monster in his prime. Nichols is a all rookie 5th round pick. Bullard very average but RRH has lots of room to grow. This is a plus plus position. With Pagano being more aggressive, Jackson, Smith, Nichols , Floyd being better and more production out of Mack , this a better D than last year.

Redford had a lackluster career at Tulsa but for the last year has been training with former kicker John Carney. He has put of 15 lbs for leg strength and has been deadly accurate. He may be ready to blossom. The fact he took a year off to work out instead of trying to find a job, speaks highly for his dedication. He may be the cheap guy for our woes.

Folks, we're not trading Howard. He will cost 800 thousand in his last year. We will add another RB and have a smaller role for Howard. If you noticed at the end of the year he was more effective. The best we may get is a 6th probably a 7th. Explain how that is worth trading him.
