I find that a realistic draft as far as needs. It is hard to say who the BPA at those rounds but I do think we address those positions. I think we need another RB if we move on from Howard. We need to get backup depth in the DB. For now we have Toliver who gets some playing time but not much behind the Ss. Definitely OL help to develop. Also to consider replacing Long is in the mix as his injuries stack up. It would not bother me one bit if we draft OL with the 3rd and 4th round picks. Even with Coward probably being the RT we still need to upgrade backups and eventually replace Long and Leno. I think this group is above average but turning out to not be a power blocking group. I should say in FA you can find some decent backups at a low price but need to eventually draft future starters.

This is an unexpected good season but we have a better future going forward with this coach, QB and a youthful defense. One thing is for sure, I find it hard to expect to have this much good luck with injuries after leading the league the last two years.

This was a bad game with lots of mistakes but lets keep things in perspective here, we are 8-4 and in first place by 1 and 1/2 games. GB is buried. What did you pick for wins for this team at the beginning at the season ? We still have a couple more bad games in us but if MT is playing we have enough good plays to win games. If we go 2-2 the rest of the way, I still think we win the division and finish 10-6 , not bad for a new coach, change in scheme and a developing QB. A few notes: Cohen is becoming a star player even in limited touches AROB is a #1 WR that catch he made along the sidelines , very few WRs make that catch Parkey is 11 for 11 since having a bad game Hicks is a monster Cudos to Nagy for getting the whole team involved in scoring(Hicks 1 yard TD) I dont think the play calling was bad, I think execution by the QB was the main issue in the game yesterday OBJ was held to 3 catches yesterday by the back end, even with a few coverage breakdowns the DBs played well

It will matter for the OL if he comes back.

I think the results of the complete season we are riding to high on our optimism. We are still a work in progress, from coaching to MT, to some of the young players on defense. If a hurt MT would have played today, we would have won. It always comes down to a handful of plays that allow us a win or give us a loss. To be honest the only 2 games that matter are how we play against GB and Minn. those will determine our fate. I think we are in the game against LA but probably not a winner, SF should be no problem. The only good thing about this loss is us coming back with 1:36 left to tie the game was amazing. They started bad but ended the game with a lot of effort. We are lost 2 games now in overtime by 6 points and had chances to win. I think we have to look at the over picture here and the arrow is pointing up. It sucks anytime we lose but the whole division lost yesterday.

The only reason I think Coward gets the chance next year is us keeping him on the roster this whole year. I think this speeds his progress up and the cheap price will fit our budget. If we resign Massie or bring in another FA it will be 6 times more money that Coward will get.

AZ, I agree he will get a chance at redemption, I am not sure talking about that the day after his release is the time to talk about picking him up. I would love to see the player with his ability play for us but he needs to do something to rehab himself to be put in the position to be given a new start. I think any time we see this type of behavior from a player it is not a isolated incident. I'm sure their are many situations this has happened before just was not recorded. Someone is going to pick him up, I just dont think the Bears brass will touch this at this time. Maybe next year after some type of a rehab situation. Nagy sticks up for him but he will be gone to another team before that. Their are many worst humans in the NFL before you get to Hunt. I just dont think we disrupt the good energy we have going now by picking him up now.
-
There are many worst human beings in the NFL than Hunt. If you put this on a scale this incident is probably a 4, where people like Peterson, Ray Rice, I would say are 8-9 range for abuse. T. Hill on the chiefs is much worst in his abuse, the problem here is the climate we live into today with all the abuse stories floating around a video is a character killer. There is a whole list of players than need to be kicked out of the NFL way before Hunt but he is the one on the video. I have been in a situation a few times where I have been hit by women, I just didnt respond with violence, so I get the bad situation.

Our oline is ranked top 15, I think 11th last time I checked. Next year we have 5 OL signed to contracts. Long, Leno, Whitehair, Daniels and Sowell On the roster this year are: those 5 plus Kush Coward Massie Witzmann PS: Dejon Allen and Willie Beavers I think Long will be back but the multi injuries with cause concern for his future. I think we resign Witzmann and Coward and Coward becomes our RT going forward.( they have kept him on the roster all year even though he has not played) I think W. Beavers gets promoted to the roster and is looked as a swing tackle going forward.( he was ranked as a 4th round pick in his draft) Witzmann stays as a reserve and they let Kush go. I think in the 3rd or 4th round we draft a OL to bring in to support our Oline going forward. Next year: Leno, Daniels,Whitehair, Long, Coward----reserves Sowell, Witzmann, Beavers, rookie. Longs health is the big question mark here. Macks money kicks in so they have to have some cheap starters so it opens the door for Coward. Also Dejon Allen is keep around and could possible make the roster going forward.

Nagy was in the house last year so he knows the kid. I doubt this public perception goes away soon. The problem here is him lying about it and led to being cut. If you watch the video, he kicked at her and did not have a heavy blow with his kick so their is grey area here for someone to justify to go after him. No way the Bears touch him but someone will. It is coming down to 0 tolerance for this kind of stuff , many other players were more brutal with their violence to a woman. You simply can not do it in any form.

He will be moving up on that list as he goes forward . He is not fully up to speed yet.
-
I just read somewhere on twitter that Smith is now #2 on voting at ILB , I will have to check out if that is true, but that would make 6 if Hicks gets to go in.

Pace missed on his first two #1 picks but he has excelled on mid round picks. I think you have to look at his draft classes as a whole and not worry about his rounds. When you look back after Jackson will be having a pro bowl year, you could very well day he would be redrafted as a #1. So my point is, I do not care where the players come from but Pace is finding prime time players in his drafts. Also I think he was influenced by Fox in his first few drafts. Now he is running on his own.

Lets say we finish 2-3, unlikely but possible. we finish 10-6 Minnesota has to play 3 road games against SEA, NE, and DET plus us and Miami at home. So lets say they lose to SEA and NE but win the rest also beating us. We finish 1/2 ahead of Minny. WIN DIVISION. Personally I think we go 4-1 and lose on the road to Minny. Finnish 11-5, UMMM I will take that , I did predict 10-6 but they are but than I imagined. I think we beat LA for two reasons, weather will affect play and they easily win there division and will be hard to get up for every game going forward, in others words they relax to much.
-
The Packers have been put to bed, if we win this game, the Viking have to play NE and Sea which is likely at least one loss, then the last game of the season will not matter. The key game will be the Packer game, if we go 3-2 going forward, and Minny losts one more game we will win by the 1/2 game tie that the Vikings have.

The weak spot for the Bears is the underneath quick pass, if we keep taking the ball away this will change.

Their are many aspects that are affecting Howards running. First of all, Nagy is scheming people in spots to succeed and leans less on the running game. We are playing without a FB that gave Howard in the past better running lanes. Sims is hurt and Shaheen is not up to speed yet in the system. Anyone remember the name of Kyle Long? He was our best run blocker. His injury causes us to start Daniels before they actually wanted to . Also a unwanted FA is playing RG to show you how good Kush actually was. It is the combination of several reasons we are not running the ball well. Once Daniels is fully integrated and hopefully Long coming back for playoffs, then you will see Howard look better. Hard to be a good RB when you keep getting hit before you reach the line of scrimmage . The last two years Howard looked good because of a FB, blocking TE, he was more a part of the game plan that got him yardage late in games.
