Have you watched tape on him, he mauls people.
-
Landry was going to be to expensive for being just a #2, but if the top3 get tagged, everybody will be earning more money.
-
That puts Q. Nelson in play for the first pick. Also another option I like is picking up Zack Fulton and make him the full time OC and move Whitehair to LG. Hopefully they find a replacement for Massie. Seems like they are all in on improving the OL, besides the WR. position.
-
I heard an interesting name today. Rickie James /WR /Middle Tenn St 5'9" 180 and a speed burner. Strong for size and a playmaker.
-
Jeffery is not a #1 but Robinson can be that provided he stays healthy.
-
The best ILB out there is probably Zack Brown/28 that fits Pace's MO young and ascending. Another name is Avery Williamson/ Tenn. Also they know the development that Nick Kwiat is gaining so they may not do anything but resign Chirstian Jones to backup and bring in another prospect.
-
Yes of course, there is no guarantee on anything but you have to try.
-
I think if we are going to pay that kind of money for a CB , we can upgrade that position. Malcon Butler, Trumaine Johnson. I heard the possiblity that Marcus Peters might be released.
-
I have read many places that Robinson and Watkins are both going to not leave their teams by tags or extensions.

Ranking on players are all over the board. They will prove itself out before and after the draft for it is more of a crap shoot than a true rating system. For me at our spot, I think Edmunds will be there and should be our pick. I love Q. Nelson and think he is a special talent, but in replacement value compared to Sitton, it minimizes drafting him. At 19 Edmunds has huge upside at a position of great value in any defense. I have seen nowhere that Fitzpatrick is viewed as less than a top 5 player. I can say I like one over the other but have not put in time as some for viewing tape on any individual player so I have to rely on people I respect. # websites I like there valuing a great deal is Mike Miller, GBDNR and draft countdown. M. Miller: Fritzpatrick-5 Edmunds-10 GBNDR: Fritzpatrick-4 Edmunds-6 DCountdown: Fritzpatrick-5 Edmunds-9

I like that Drafttek puts in the work of a whole draft, but their choices are quite unrealistic.
-
think they have the proper information to make the right choice, things I do not know. Just know a healthy stud on the line will Goldman and Hicks would be huge.
-
people are always projecting what they think someone will do, no personal knowledge to substantiate that information. I heard Brian Urlacker was going to un-retire and come back and play. Lets see how far that goes

Keep reading more and more and keep changing my mind more and more. So in this FA scheme: Resign Fuller Resign Callahan Resign Meredith Resign C. Jones Resign S. Acho total cap space 20 mil Cut M Cooper (save 4.5 mil) Cut J. Sitton ( save 7.9) Cut P. McPhee (save 7 mil) Cut M. Wheaton (save 5 mil) Cut W. Young (save 4.5) Cut J. Freeman( save 3.4) Restructure D. Sims contract (save 3 mil) blocking TE with better upside with new scheme Restructure Q. Demps (save 2 mil) vet backup Save 37.5 million In FA we acquire: M. Lee/WR 6 mil R. Cobb/WR 7 mil R. Cobb gets cut from GB being due 12.5 this year- plays the slot Z Fulton/OC 6 mil Fulton becomes our full time OC moving Whitehair to LG S. Richardson 11 mil gives us one of the best DLs in the league Dee Ford/edge 6 mil had an injury plauged 2017 with only partial 6 games /fresh start Rasheen Melvin/CB 6 mil a vet to pair with Fuller 6'2" with 3 ints last year. cost 41 mil With Meredith- Marques Lee- Randall Cobb we redo our WR corp with a drafted player yet to come With cut ties with Sitton and go younger with more stabitly for the next several years. Massie has his replacement drafted Resign Fuller add Melvin and keep Demps for backup role at S. draft pick yet to come Ford had a 10 sack season 2 years ago and pairs with Floyd to boost the OLB position. Your turn

I dont think teams are going to throw all their eggs in the A. J basket. I would say someone signs him and still drafts a QB.
-
For 2 WRs, I think Kirk is the playmaker that would thrive in our scheme. If we have to take one later in the draft I would prefer Marcus Ateman. a go up and get it guy.
-
I think he will cut ties with McPhee for sure and probably keep Houston over Young. I think he brings back Acho and adds one in FA and drafts a OLB. Hard to say who he values in FA, but I do not think it will be a expensive signing. If we keep 4 OLBs, you have Floyd-Houston-Acho then a draft pick. If he brings in a FA it will be someone that will have a prove it type contract to fight for a spot. To get a improved pass rush, they also could be considering upgrading the 5T position. If they add a S. Richardson, or M. Wilkerson that would create more opportunities for the OLBs.
-
If we go my Paces draft history, he will try to trade down or up in the first or in the second to pick up extra picks or target a player.. Most view the draft(other than QBs ) that their are 4 true blue chip prospects in the draft so drafting at 8 is someone of a bad spot to take a player because the next 10 to 15 players to be drafted are all rated close to the same value . So hopefully we can get someone to trade up for a QB or for Barkley and get us in some more picks and still draft a draft value pick. This draft would make sense. Grabbing 2 WRs and a true edge prospect with a OL prospect to groom to take Massies spot in a year. That would probably mean we keep Massie for one more year.

This is a good article worth reading, mentions names I have thought of before. https://www.windycitygridiron.com/2018/2/14...for-every-round
-
A name I seen mentioned that I never thought of before is Alex Okafor/NO. He had 4.5 sacks in 10 games last year and is the ascending type Pace likes. 6'4" 260 at 27. May be a fit. He tore his Achilles and will be available when training camp starts.
-
We still have Floyd which hopefully takes the next step forward but after him: McPhee--------gone saves 7.1 Young---------- save 4.5 at 32, probably gone Irwin------------just a cheap prospect Jones-----------just a cheap prospect I think we should bring in Houston, younger and cheaper than keeping Young. Resign Christian Jones to backup both inside and out Resign Sam Ocho, reliable backup. In FA: Junior Galette-----on a prove it economical contract Aaron Lynch-------young with upside Trent Murphy------- coming off an injury with upside Adrian Clayborn----- at 29 a good player but probably doesnt fit Paces MO Will Clarke------------could play several roles in fangios defense In the draft: first round----T. Edmunds- M Davenport H. Landry A Key second round-------Leighton Van Ersch D Armstrong S Hubbard beyond--------------K. Truray L Carter J Sweat D Ejiofor J Thomas J Ostman I would sign A Lynch and draft T Edmunds in the first round or Leighton Van Ersch in the second or K Truray in the fourth

Him more than anybody seems to be all over the place. I think he is more a 15 to 25 drafted player than top 10. I think with possibilities of 4 QBs and Barkley going top 10. He just doesnt seem like the 5 th best player left over for me. Nelson Chubb Fritzpatrick D. Ward ? D James ? R Smith ? I personally think if you taking risks on upside that after the first group T. Edmunds is the best prospect for us.
-
I totally agree with you , just not sure he is someone to hang your hat on. At 6'1" 224, to much of a tweener to make an impact at either position.
-
JaWaun James had a hamstring injury that sidelined him for the last 8 games. He played well in 2016 that led to them picking up his option for 2018. He is young and did not play well most of the games last year. He will be let go because he is due. 9.3 mil this coming year. Maybe we look at him to replace Massey? He is 25

There is several teams that need cap space that have bloated contracts for some players. This is a list of potential releases, do we want any of them. Oakland- Michael Crabtree had a bad year, not all his fault but is due 8.25 and cutting him will save Oak 7.7 mil Ravens- Jerry Maclin had a bad year and is due 7.5 mil, they would save 5 mil by cutting him. N.O. - Coby Fleener is due 8.1 mil for his 22 recs. and 2 TDs Miami- JuWuan James/OT is due 9.2 mil coming off an injury prone season. they are going to rescind his 5th year option. 25 years old RT Jets- Muhammad Wilkerson/DT can save 17 mil by designated him a June 1st cut. I think James/OT could be an option as he played well before he got injured. Crabtree and Maclin are older than Pace likes but a inexpensive 3 year deal with everything front loaded may be an option. Fleener maybe an option to take the place of Miller while Shaheen develops.
