The problem is, if you take the QBs out of the picture, there is probably 4 true blue chips players in this draft the next group of 15 players are all rated about the same value. So if you dont draft Barkely-Chubb-Fritzpatrick-Nelson then moving down makes a lot of sense. IF you are Buffalo and there is a QB sitting there they like, you honestly dont think trading the 21 and 22 pick is worth that move? They gave Taylor a contract and will ask him to take a pay cut. Sounds like that will be a problem that will not go away.

The more I read, the more I think they will keep the Oline intact for one more year and draft in middle rounds a OT to groom for taking Massies job next year. We still have Morgan in the pipeline at OG, so I think they keep Sitton for one more year and groom Morgan to take his spot. So that changes my perspective on predicting who we draft. In trading with Buffalo for there first rounds picks and a third, this is where I am at right now. 1-21 Marcus Davenport/OLB the more I look the more I see him as a late first round pick. 1-22 Josh Jackson/CB He is a good size playmaker with 8 ints as a senior 2-7 Christian Kirk/WR a speed theat that will thrive in the new offense 3- 32 Marcus Ateman/WR the tall go up and get guy 4-a Brandon Parker/OT a OT to groom to take Massies spot 4-b Joel Sweat/5T another prospect for the line 5 PJ Hill /DT a DT to backup Goldman 6 Joe Osman/edge another prospect for the outside 7 Mike White/QB back to drafting one every year

We are going to be trying to acquire more picks not lose them. Would you trade Howard, Cohen,E. Jackson, or N. Kwait ? those are picks that taken later than the 3rd round. A undersized, injury prone ILB.

This one sucks dick too http://www.chicagonow.com/daily-chicago-sp...nfl-mock-draft/

Not the worse, THIS 1 Calvin Ridley/WR 2 Isaiah OLiver/CB 4a Joey Jewel/ILB 4b D.J. Clark/WR 5 Godwin Igwebulke/S 6 Christian LaCouture/DL 7 Brandon Parker/OT I like Ridley but not at 8 and Parker but that is it.
-
I think he may be our best choice for the simple fact he is only 19 right now and has a lot of growth coming under the tutorial of Fangio. Plus he will be there at 8. He could be that guy Fangios schemes everywhere on the field .
-
I agree they may draft 2 wrs, but have no thoughts it might be in the first round. I have my own thoughts on player value, but it is based on other peoples opinions that have put time in evaluating the players. The experts are only right half the time so none of all of opinions really mater. My whole point of not drafting a WR at 8 is based on several reasons now just because he drafted White and it did not turn out. As I mentioned to Bowling.
-
If he drafts a WR that fails, he loses his job, he absolutely has that in the back of his mind. If he was a top 10 rated player, that may be different but most dont have him there. The thing to keep in mind is he will try to fill needs in FA so he is not pinned to a position of need. He will resign Fuller and then add a Amerson or Breeland, not needing a CB at 8. He will resign Meredith and maybe Wright and go out and grab a M. Lee and P. Richardson, not making that position so important to fill at 8. He will resign Houston, bring in a Aaron Lynch and bring back C. Jones. still a need but can wait until the second round. Will keep Willie Young for one more year. At 8 he will take the BPA one of Q. Nelson/OG Fritzpatrick/DB T. Edmunds/edge C. Williams/OT
-
I think your spot on with also resigning C. Jones that can play outside. Besides lynch, you also have K Ealy-J. Gallette-A Clayborne. One of these will be here.

It may turn out to be true, but in all of this we are trying to predict what the Bears will do. Pace will not draft a WR at 8 because: White Last year 3 top 10 WRs did nothing special to contribute to their teams in the first year. History tells us half of the first round picks will be busts. He simply will not take a chance on a WR at 8 when the consensus tells us he is not worth it. Now if we move back to the middle of the round, I think that is possible. He will go with a OLB-CB-OL in the first round.
-
I keep seeing people put Ridley as our first pick at 8 but overall, the highest I see WRs rated is in the teens as far as value. Like Mongo said, having White on his resume will cause Pace to over think drafting a WR at that high a spot. Also league history shows that you have just as many busts in the first round as hits. Also many later round WRs have been successful in recent drafts. Last year 3 WRs were taken in the first round(top 10). Corey Davis, Mike Williams, John Ross. Not one would be considered successful last year. The only 2 good rookie WRs last year were a late 2nd round and early 3rd round. JuJu and Cooper Kupp. We aint taking a WR early, period.

We all keep looking at filling needs with the 8th pick and if we go with just BPA, how much does that change things? To be realistic, there will be 3 QBs and a RB taken in front of us, so that leaves us with the fourth best non glamour position player. The possibility exists a 4th QB taken or gives us a trade back scenario at our spot. BPAs consensus: The three websites I like for player evaluation are GBNDR, Draft Countdown and Matt Miller so those are what is used in this post. Q. Nelson/OG M. Friztpatrick/DB B. Chubb/EDGE these 3 are in the top 10 in all projections. I think if any are available, we draft him, period. Names mentioned in top 10 D. Ward/CB C. Williams/OT D. James/S R.Smith/ILB T Edmunds/EDGE V.Veta/DL If the first 3 are gone, who would be next? I think rating them all close in value, we favor EDGE or OT over the other positions. T. Edmunds or C. Williams would be our pick.

I just seen where AC is 29 and will turn 30 in this season, which probably doesnt make that much of a difference. Maybe we give him a 2 year deal with good upfront money to allow for a rookie to grow into his role that we draft. Another name I notice was Aaron Lynch, played with Fangio as a rookie and had 6 sacks in limited playing time. 6-6 270 could replace McPhee. Upside expectations would only be 8-10 sacks at the most but at 24 has time to grow and replace the aging Willie Young.
-
I like the idea of someone putting the whole consensus together FA, draft , trades , cuts but just find some of his ideas as unrealistic. I think they go in another direction with Amukamara, younger with more play maker ability. someone with more ints. There is no way we have that many trades, maybe one. Like you said, teams will wait for Sitton to be cut , not trade for him.

https://nflmocks.com/2018/02/04/chicago-bea...on-to-the-wind/ There are a couple of moves I do not agree with but overall a pretty good off season. Trading Bullard for a 5th, not a good idea. Drafting James Daniels/OC with #22 seems like a reach. Not cutting Cooper. Otherwise, like the overall picture.
-
I didnt pay attention to his age, not Paces MO going after older players.
-
I agree with your opinions except paying 14 mil a year to a slot WR with a 8.8 yard per catch last year. It will not happen here. Now if he signs for much less, then I think they will but not a 12-14 mil a year contract.
-
I would be good with your scenario because upgrading the OL at two positions,Im all in on. I guess the only difference in our opinions is how good McG will be. We will know in 3 years. Another scenario I would be good with is grabbing Zack Fulton in FA and plugging him in at OC and have Whitehair at LG and then drafting a potential replacement for RT in the second or third.
-
I seen one named mentioned that I never consdiered. Adrian Clayborn had 9.5 sacks last year and has never had any injures concerns. He would fit in the McPhee role if we got him. Last year he made 5 mil, so he will probably get a contract worth maybe 8-9 a year. The Falcons are low on cap money, so I dont see them in play to resign him.
-
I think they front loaded the contract because they have cap room now and in two years will give them flexibility to resign or add players when they will be competing.
-
Moncrief could be in play, but at 32 I dont see us going after Danny

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2757373...owl-predictions I am all in on this draft. 1 Q. Nelson/LG stud stud stud 2 C. Kirk/WR ( 4.4 speed) our deep threat 4a H Mata'afa/ Edge (in this draft T. Edmunds and l. Carter are still available) I dont see that happening. HM had 22.5 TFL and 10.5 Ss at 6'2" 252 could fill the McPhee role 4b M Ateman/WR ( our Jeffery's type) 5 B J Hill/5t huge and active 6 J Noteboom/OT ( keep Massie for one year and groom him to take his place) 7 Deatrick Nichols/CB speed guy with 11 Ints in 3 years.
-
The more I get lost in mock drafts and Big Boards, the more I think our pick will be between: Q Nelson or T. Edmunds Who do you take? Im all in on Nelson
-
I agree they will decide between Wilson or Wright and I also like Lee's upside but not with Grant. I think they need a deep threat and Grant is not that type of WR. I suggested Tyrell Williams a 6'3" wideout with 4.4 speed. I think if not him at least one speed guy. John Brown from Ariz Paul Richardson 4.4 speed but not really that deep threat. Donte Moncrief has 4.4 speed Jaron Brown 4.4 speed Their are only a few deep threats in FA and I think we will bring one in to stretch the field.
