I seen a scenario where there they draft Q Nelson and play him at RT his first year and keep Sitton one more year. If Longs injuries get the best you have Morgan waiting in the wings. Then address RT next year.
-
I think if they draft him they will keep Young and resign Houston while he learns the NFL.
-
Sometimes they just grow into it as they mature. A riser in talent and fits in someone's scheme.
-
He is getting a lot of press and is listed high on many sites. I think we would be better grabbing Davenport if available than Edmunds.
-
You need to realize there is very little on the Oline in free agency. It will change the draft from a position stand point. Has to be draft for OL.
-
These are things that happen we can not foresee. If they couldn't renegotiate his deal , we should jump on that.
-
A name to throw in the ring that doesn't get much press but lead the big 10 in tackles is Tegrey Scales. 6' 230. He would have put on 15 lbs to play in the middle but the dude can run.

All the combine does is bring attention to being athletic. I think tape is the best way to determine value. Also their attitude and do they love football, work hard. Combine is the last of the analysis.
-
I rarely see any Wrs rated top 15. No way , unless we move down are we taking Wrs in the first round. I can see them reaching a few spots but not for a WR. Pass rusher seems to about that valve in top 10.
-
A couple more names I am starting to see consistently are Tremaine Edwards /olb and Denzel Ward/cb. Also Marcus Davenport seems to be moving up fast. The combine should sort out the higher regarded players.
-
I think we can all agree the Bears will not be taking RB and QB with our first pick. So here is a ongoing list of the top 10 minus those positions. M. Fitzpatrick B. Chubbs Q. Nelson These are the three I consistently see in the top 10 as I view a ton of moch drafts. I will expand this as I view more regularly on players in the top 10.

I think it's IMO that he guarantees it. White is still under contract, so he is for sure coming back. Merideth is a RFA so odds are he is coming back because Bears have control and can get him back with a cheap contract. So I think he is correct. . We have to see what Nagy sees in the evaluation but several will be offered contracts. I suspect they give prove it contracts and cut people before the regular season starts. Just throwing lots of darts at the problem.

I listen to something interesting, HH was asked about how much rebuild would need to be done during the coaches pree conference. He thinks that both OTs will do great under system. I can see the potential for Leno but he thinks Massie will do well. Does that change the first two rounds for the draft?
-
I think it is hard to access what they look for in traits for W rs. I have thought fast or quickness was priority but not sure. I think Wright is in play but they may go for Wilson who played the slot in KC and is more familiar with Nagy and younger. White may ideally fit the profile but who knows what to expect out of him. He may be the surprise and thrive. Otherwise either Inman or Merideth but not both. I would say they bring in 2 FAs and draft one. Does anyone think Tanner Gentry may have more contributions under this regime?

I get what your saying but it makes sense to have realistic projection in my opinion. It's like when people say let's go sign the top 4 free agents, sure that sounds great but would never happen. It's like projecting a draft and listings 1st round picks in the 4th, it would be great but would never happen.
-
Hopkins is not a free agent but he would only be the to pay a big contact.
-
It would nice to have them do what I want them to do but what I think they will do is not pay for the highest 2 Wrs, maybe 1. Robinson on as shown to be injury prone. I think they will only go so high on Landry, so I don't think they sign either of those. I suspect they want speed and quickness so I suggest Brown and a reliable Crabtree for a go to guy and the will be well under the top WRs.i like the thought of Breeland. Personally I think they go with RRH and Bullard to fill the other DE spot and spend in other area of need. I agree with your FAs to keep.i think they keep Inman or Merideth but not both. Merideth has more upside but add some speed guys.

I'm in Colombia for the month and am just on my phone so i can't post a link but I just watched a Q Nelson highlights video. Can someone post the link? It was on twitter with thr tilte, Why the Bears can't pass up drafting Q. Nelson. He is a total stud. If Long is healthy cut ties with Sitton ( our best OL last year) He is 31 and missed 6 games in the last 2 years. Time to move on and grab the best OL prospect to come out of college in last 5 years, stated by one scout. I know it's just a OG but is a potential 8 to 10 year all pro prospect. Leno- Q Nelson-Whitehair-healthy Long-New RT ( my choice would be 2nd round pick Kolton Miller. STUD OL with attitude. Morgan and Kush as backups. Done deal OMG

If the chance 4 QBs and 1 RB goes in top 7 so if that is the case, we have much more than a NT to choose from.
-
Your right if you want to get complex you would have to consider money, but you will simplify draft by excluding FA. Got it.Everything you said is why a simple draft is unrealistic. I'll jump after FA when we can have legitimate arguments. Have fun.
-
I totally agree. Resign Fuller, and Callahan. Then pick up Trumain Johnson or equal. Then resign Merideth and Wright ( Wright will flourish under Nagy). Pickup up Crabtree and John Brown (deep threat ) and then end up with a draft pick. So Fuller Callahan Johnson? So Wright White Merideth Crabtree Brown Draft pick. Also in FA. We bring back Houston on cheap contract. Sign Junior Gazette( flourished in NO but failed in Washington.) On the cheap, draft one high. Oline only has one young major player, Andrew Norvell, a guard, will draft 2 OLinemen.
-
I think the first year they play him at RT , his weakness is he needs to play stronger. I think they give Leno 1 more year under HH and see how he progresses. If not his contract is set up that he could be let go in Year 3. Then Williams could move to LT or Leno gets good and have Jack Conklin type problem, 2 good OTs. They will rebuild the line this year or get a lot better under HH.

When I do silly mock drafts it is all my opinions but I do them with consideration of who I think we pick up in free agency. Trades on draft days would be impossible to project so I understand the reason to leave that out . I think to do a consensus draft it would not be very legitimate without considering free agency. #1 Solder will not be leaving NE unless you give him a huge contract. We will not be chasing guys over 30 , Sitton was 29 when he fell in our lap and carried a few pro bowls with him. Show me those in free agency? #2 Demps was over 30 and how did that turn out for us? #3 the Ansel thought is intriguing and would change our draft wishes if they think a DE can play our OLB spot. I think Pace has shown the tendency to go after FAs going on there second contract,25 to 28 year olds.who fits that bill at the OT position? That is any good? The CB and WR positions have the most good players in free agency, so my thought is we fill those needs in FAgency and then draft the other positions. I also think he thinks Leno is good enough at his spot and will only draft a RT. I as you would like both replaced. Since you are asking for input from everyone, I am giving my opinion before you start. To make this realistic, let's do a free agency concesous first then add a draft concesous after. Otherwise we may as j well ust do mock drafts and dream.
-
After the White fiasco , we will not draft a wr in the first round, take it to the bank. None this year are valved top 10, Ripley is 15 to 25 range. We wi not reach at the first pick even though I agree we need a complete overhaul. We will keep Wright and maybe Merideth.
-
There is only one high end OL in free agency, Andrew Norvell, the rest are below average. So to pretend they might take 2 OT, they need to upgrade not go backwards. Good luck with finding a good OLB, but CBs and Wrs, yes. It's not that complicated. So I'll jump in when it becomes more realistic.
