Thanks for asking, I'm 2 hours away from the shockwaves, nothing felt here. They said 7.7, I think that's a strong one?

Five Current Bears Who May Determine Bears' Draft Plans
Stinger226 replied to dawhizz's topic in Bearstalk
Jarrett not going to have great stats but with guarded snaps, should have a couple big play a game. More of a facilitator for the other the guys. He will demand attention leaving them one on one. -
I think they try to trade back unless Mason Graham drops. I don't see any of the other big names make it to 10.

I think the NT having Billings on the last year of his contract and no legitimate prospect behind him , Kenneth Grant makes the most sense if we stay at 10. Plus Billings is coming off an injlike one of our rostered players a lot.ury. We have Jarrett and Dexter at 3 T. I guess you could use that same logic at DE, Sweat, Dayo and Booker, we need another one unless they l

Five Current Bears Who May Determine Bears' Draft Plans

Actually the trajectory of Dexter is pretty good, he had better stats the the great Phillys Carter did last year minus the pass rush win rate, if you're into adv. stats. I'm not saying he is as good as Carter but not far behind. I expect 8-9 sacks this year with the additional DL players added. I think in the pass rush scheme, Dexter is the NT and Jarrett the 3T. I can see Sweat - Jarrett - Dexter- Dayo actually being pretty good. If they don't draft a LT at 10 or 39, I think they have faith in Kiran A to fall in place. -
Everything you said makes perfect sense but football BS is fun. I'm a dreamer, as ridiculous as some things are, I dream about stuff like that. Instead of trading up for Sanders, an OL? Tyler Warren, he would help any QB be better. In that trade scenario, I don't see a #1 added into it.

Listening to Tom Thayer speak, he said arm length isn't that big a deal but good feet matters. Also wingspan, it's about sliding your body in front of a speed rush . I think Campbell is around 78, where Kiran A is 84. I can see where that makes some sense to me. Moving a bigger body in the right position.

Five Current Bears Who May Determine Bears' Draft Plans

Agree with your assessment. If you not drafting a bonafide LT at 10, then it's not our first pick. If you're bringing in a Grant or Connorly that need time to develop, that person is on the roster, Kiran A. I think they let Braxton and him play it out. I think they bring in a RB for competition but they may think Johnson and Swift fit the two back system Johnson runs. The load back changes the offense Johnson wants. If they draft a S in the first 4 picks then we know they aren't counting on Brisker to be healthy going forward. Cole Kmet is a top 10 TE, just needs targets. They still could bring in Warren but because of his potential as a weapon for Ben or a latter pick. Bates is still here which tells me his health must be okay. Why else would they have not cut him for a 4 mil Cap boost. Like you said, he can play all 3 IOL spots. Looking at the roster Bates, Murray, Stromberg, and Jordan McFadden seem to be our backup IOL. Pryor just got signed with Philly so they must be good with the depth. -
Another 2nd tier potentially draftable LT is Hollin Pierce/ Rutgers. He was 2 nd team all big 10 at LT. 36 arms, 86 wingspan. He's projected to the 5 th round pick.
-
That's a highly likely scenario.
-
They don't need him to start right away, they will let Braxton play the year out. If they think he's a upside LT in the league, I think this is the perfect scenario. If Campbell is a true LT, I would be all in on him. You did make a good point before, you need to draft a day one starter at 10, any OL pick will probably not start this year.

Pick one: 10 Simmons/ 39 Landon Jackson/ 41 Alfred Collins/ 72 Cam Skattebo / 145 Malachi Moore/ S 10 James Pierce/ 39 Josh Connelly/ 41 TJ Sanders/ 72 Andrew Mukuba /S / 145 Jayden Blue/RB

Eric bienemy went to see Jeanty and Johnson, Poles and Dennis Allen were together at OSU. There's only a couple spots all three were at. If Jeanty was our #10 pick, more power would have been there. I think Jayden Blue may be a better chance of being our 6 th round draft pick than Jeanty is at 10. He has 4.38 speed, explosive traits in wide zone schemes. We are drafting a compliment back not a load back . He shared duties in college so doesn't have heavy load on his body. A speed weapon Johnson can use situationally. After listening to Campbell talk after his pro day, I like him better. He stated ( no one complained about my play until they measured my arm length, that's bullshit). ( Not exactly the way he said it. Simmons worked out at his pro day, 33 reps of 225. If his agility is back, could be pick 10.

For a pick at 10 there just isn't a must pick LT. Membou will be the first OL off the board and then Campbell. I don't think either ends up LTs. Then Banks and Simmons,I think they play LT but they're not pro bowl types IMO, above average starters but is that the pick you want at 10 ? The DT you take should be in that mold. Nolen, Grant is my choices for there.

It's a depth piece, unless a major injury happens, he will just play ST. If they draft a CB, he may be gone.
-
Didn't know where to put this. I heard Jarrett, Dexter, Sweat, and Booker are working out together in Florida with a pass rush specialist.( Didn't see his name mentioned.) Clearly Jarrett had to have a lead role in putting this together. I thought this shows a leadership position getting players together. I also heard Olin Kreutz saying he was working with Kiran A at his gym. These are the type of commitments that is going make this team jell.

Last year Moore was ranked 46th by pff. He had 12 sacks and 5 penalties, and got 4 years 82 mil.. Braxton will get over 20 mil a year next year.

A lot of drafts, I'm seeing Campbell drop out of the top 10. Rarely do you see a OG go top 10. Quentin Nelson was a 6th pick but Campbell is not close to his grade. The short arm aspect is real , there's only 1 LT starting with arms his length. compared to Braxton 35.4 and Kiran at 36.2, he's 32.6. He has small hands and wingspan is 78 , Braxton 84 and Kiran at 85. Say it doesn't matter but the league tells you it does. Banks arm length is 33.5, 1 inch more than Campbell, so he's projected at OG a lot to. Someone will play LT out of this group but very few fit that mold.

Last year our OL sucked, now this year we add potential a top 5 IOL, and we will draft a couple OL to start building depth on the OL. If we add high level draftee just that much better . To think we are going to start trading players? That's insane.
-
As much as we have this narrowed down to a few players, Poles is going to surprise us , I can feel it.

Profootballnetwork has a easy to use simulator. They keep changing the order according to how people move up and fall back in the draft buzz. None are completely spot on but something to play with.
-
My interest is more the football people they have on. Olin Kreutz and Dave Wannsted come to mind. I like the bears atmosphere more than any particular host.

Anytime, football season, I'm working or doing anything around the house I listen to the score. In Rockford it comes in much better than ESPN. I've listened from the beginning of their existence and liked some DJs and disliked a few . Bernstein is a smart guy but would always talk down to people, think he's smarter than everyone else and was an a**hole a lot. I am happy he's gone. I used to be on his Twitter account and would call him out when he was a jerk. He finally blocked me. He always wanted to interject politics into his sports world. For me, I always used sports for my escape from normal reality. If you live woke, you die woke. It happened to him.
