He has good coverage skills, that is an interesting proposal,SS.
-
With all the rumors, it seems that Jack is dropping. The long term knee issue is the reason, if we only have a high level player for 5 to 6 years, should we take him? I say yes
-
I also like him better than Floyd, he is better at the point of attack. He is has the same build as McPhee and have seen him compared to Chandler Jones. If they think he is a 10 sack a year guy, then go for it. I think there is a plum list of 8 outside of the QB, if they are all gone then I think they should go for it. We can get a 5 T in the second or third round because of the depth.
-
He would be last on that list of 8 but is there for most people with any scout knowledge doing analyzing. There are several that fall up to the top 10 , players like Floyd, Lawson, I have even seen Conklin and Rankins approaching that spot. I hope there is a clear cut player at our spot to be praised by all of us. I am ok with any position other than WR and QB.(we dont need ILBers either)
-
I meant Jets, I screwed that up.
-
If you leave out the QBs there are generally considered 8 special players: Buckner Bosa Tensil Stanley Ramsey Jack Elliot Hargreaves If any of those drop , I think we take them, Defense player over Elliot, Stanley if D players are gone. The best case scenario would be Lynch still there at our pick and we trade back with Tenn and get an extra 2nd rounder and grab Conklin(he has a nasty streak which would solidify our line for years to come.
-
I have seen articles about drafting Hargreaves and making him a FS. What you guys think about that ?
-
I have seen that to about becoming a hybrid LB.
-
Actually its good they signed Williams, they now have a good cheap replacement and can move on from,Wilkerson. He will be traded on draft day.
-
Oh I agree with that, if someone wants to get him, he will be forced to sign and then he becomes the Jets property and then they can trade him. Rules are usually technical. My original statement was (he can not be traded unless he signs the tender offer) so I guess that makes that a true statement. It is easier some times to just agree when some one is right.
-
I went to the website and read it. He can not negotiate with any other teams under the rule, but is still a FA until he signs the tag. An exclusive right of the team. I tried to show the link but it didnt load. I am sure your 5% of being wrong is just a formality.
-
Like I stated before, I trust his opinion over yours. He spent 21 years in the NFL and still does analyzing on various outlets. He has a long resume, I have yet to say your resume. Common sense would say he is a UFA that the Jets put a tag on, if he doesnt sign a tender offer, let me see, HE IS STILL A FREE AGENT, but cant be signed by anyone else. //en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Franchise_tag

I will be the first to tell you, I have not looked at the rule book, but follow Greg Gabriel on twitter and sure the hell believe his knowledge over yours. Greg Gabriel @greggabe Apr 21 Again Mo Wilkerson CANNOT be traded until he SIGNS his franchise tender. New club will also insist on new long term contract b4 doing trade
-
There is one problem with all the interesting info you provided, it would have a pleasant ending but the Jets cant trade Wilkerson because he hasnt signed the tender offer. HE CANT BE TRADED UNTIL HE SIGNS THE TENDER OFFER.
-
One trade scenario I see poping up is if Lynch falls to us, we have a spot the Jets may want to move up to. The trade valve chart has us giving the 20th pick and there 2nd round pick(51), that works out for valve. At 20 we still should get a shot at Taylor Decker/OT----William Jackson/CB----Robinson/DT(he seems to be falling)
-
I dont see the Dolphins moving up, NO isnt going to take a RB, but maybe OAK to jump ahead of Miami.
-
I have seen several draft trade scenarios and was going to give a post to list them. Everybody has viewed the trade for Wilkinson option. (which we wont be bringing in a 15 mil player) (not Paces style) Here is one I seen on ESPN; 5. Jaguars trade 1-5, Luke Joeckel to Bears for 1-11, 2-41, 4-104. The Bears are another team that could at least theoretically have an interest in trading up for Tunsil, given that their left tackle is currently 2014 seventh-rounder Charles Leno, but this is a deal where the Bears get to trade up and come away with a veteran left tackle, too. Joeckel has failed to develop in Jacksonville, but he was worth the No. 2 pick three years ago; the Bears would basically get a season-long flier on Joeckel (or a two-season flier if his fifth-year option is picked up) and the chance to upgrade elsewhere by adding somebody like Ramsey or Ohio State defensive end Joey Bosa. The Jags, who don't need a tackle, would make this deal to come away with precious extra picks, as their spending spree over the past several free-agent periods has prevented them from acquiring valuable compensatory selections. This deal would value Joeckel as roughly being worth a late third-rounder by the traditional trade value chart. IM NOT SURE I UNDERSTAND WHY JAGUARS WOULD DO THIS? WHY NOT JUST TRADE A 3RD ROUND PICK FOR JOECKEL Here is another option I seen proposed: 11. Bears trade 5-150 to the Ravens for Eugene Monroe. Let's cut away from the 11th pick and get the Bears their left tackle. If Baltimore drafts Tunsil or Notre Dame's Ronnie Stanley sixth, Monroe will be a useless appendage. The Ravens would be selling low on a player who was part of one of the league's better lines when healthy in 2014, but that might appeal to the Bears, who are stuck with the aforementioned Leno at left tackle. The Ravens would get some breathing room against the cap for their annual post-June 1 signings, while the Bears would take a low-cost flier on a possible starting left tackle. THIS ONE WOULD MAKE SOME SENSE IF BALT DRAFTS TUNSEL Anyone seen any other proposals other there?

The truth be told all good GMs make some mistakes, what they do is hit on more the than rest. The trick is to find a few gems that turn out like the Brady's.
-
Pace has already demonstrated that he wont pay big contracts. In both FA markets, he gives out 3 or 4 mid level contracts and a bunch of low end deals. No way he changes that. Wilkerson isnt coming here.
-
There is relatively spoken that 8 to 12 players are special depending on who you read. With 3 QBs that probably dont belong in the top 10 get drafted, somebody with fall. I think one of Bosa or Buckner is the drop player, jump on it and high five.
-
We will be drafting a S somewhere in this hot mess, like yours better
-
Does anybody seriously think we are going O on the two of the first three picks? no way
-
It the first round player we take is a special player , you just take him, it makes your team better. Lets say Leno rates out as an average LT, we get Stanley and he is up for all pro credits. We will then have overall better play going forward. EZ may be the best player on the board at the time but he is only probably around 8 to 12 best player in the draft. We absolutely make the case for taking anybody I would say except for WR on the team. As far as depth the only other positions we are ok at are, OG and ILB, otherwise it is an open door.
-
He is the best RB in the draft and if we take him that would add to the team. We read all kinds of opinions but that doesnt mean we know how teams rate players. If he is rated the BPA, I would say we should take him. He is no AP or LT, if he turns out to be a younger Matt Forte, I would say it would have been worth it. If our first round pick turns out to be an all pro type, who adds the most to the team? A stud RB, DE, or edge rusher? I would say if we pick right, an edge rusher adds more wins. A RB would add but it will absolutely be a RBC and not as much as an impact.
