Let me see we didnt win anything with the great Brandon Marshall, or how did we do last year with Marvelous Bennett? The fact is we need to change the culture of this time, we simply have not been very good. Let me see, one SB appearance since the 1985 team. Im all in on trying something different and I think we have a GM and a coach that can get us there. Everything isnt perfect but Im willing to wait a few years and see how this turns out. OR I can bitch like you and pretend Im a huge Bear fan that doesnt see the valve in what is going on now.

I like what i see so far but ultimately it will take 3 years to judge him, like we usually do with players. We could look and say he screwed this up or made a nice move there, but will only matter that we become a consistent winner and get to a SB.

How do you not get he was a problem for the team? Yes he had talent, but was a problem for the new coach. He did not attend OTAs(bad start with a new coaching staff), he complained all the time he wasnt getting the ball enough. HE WOULD HAVE HELD OUT IF NOT GIVEN A NEW CONTRACT. He had run in with players on the team. Was sent home twice last year during practice for being a problem. Read about his issues , there is the stories coming out now that he is gone. Just because he is a good player, doesnt mean he is good for the team. To much of a me player,Fox needs guys to buy in to team effort not constantly causing problems.
-
Or watch him fail . Just because NE signed him doesnt mean he becomes a good player. If he can stick good for him but I have my doubts. We will have to see what his contract was.
-
Seems someone gave him some money.
-
I think they have one more 3 year 12 mil deal left to make, not sure who that would be. We could use a S, another DL or a CB
-
Actually there is 1.125 mil in dead money, but still a plus.
-
Were getting a 4th and giving them our 6th, not such a bad deal for someone who didnt want to be here.
-
He is not starting in Seattle. Good for him he got better and made some money. If you hitch a wagon to a guy, maybe pick someone with more upside. He was not very good then, and has grown a little, I dont think that is saying a lot.
-
Pats pick behind them so maybe a 5th for our 6th. Better than nothing

Here is a website that has good information for any position. http://www.draftcountdown.com/nfl-draft-ra...rback-rankings/
-
There going to use two guys alot so they want more of an upside choose than Carey. I like the way he runs, but Fox and Pace like speed and he just insnt that. Last year , if Perry doesnt get hurt, Im not sure he makes the team.
-
I think you address the positions fine, but dont like your CB in the 4th, would prefer Xavier Howard/Baylor( 6'2" Also I would prefer Hogan/ST instead of Driskel.More of an accurate passer.
-
Rodgers is a 3rd back, there concern is Carey. They want more of a clear choice than Carey.
-
BM was chaos, you cant have that in a locker room, it was always about him
-
Just seen where Chandler Jones just got traded to AZ for Jon Cooper and a 2nd rounder. The guy we should have drafted instead of Shea.
-
I couldnt make an honest assessment on where he belongs, but I trust Fox and Fan and its looking like they dont think much of him or he would have seen more time on the field. When Anderson and Timu starts ahead of him that is not a good thing.
-
I hate giving you credit for anything, but you were spot on with this
-
We will be lucky if we get a 6th round with the league knowing he will be gone no matter what. Think about it, if someone wants him, they will be expected to give him a new contract. It may not happen as a trade, may be just cut.
-
Bennett is probably gone, but they are not done at that position. Will address it in the draft.
-
I totally believe that they are looking at 2 and 3 years from now and at that point he would be irrelevant. I think he will do ok this year, but this is about getting younger and the future. Matt is not part of that, some people just need to move on . Hanging on to our heros longer that we should is not a good football decision.
-
They could go so many ways with that first pick. I think they valve the RB a lot in this offense and could see them take EZ if still there. Also we need playmakers on D and if they think one of the ones Jason listed as worth it, they could draft him too.
-
I think if Wentz is there, they will draft him. I believe he is the only prospect worthy of a high pick(potential). I think Goff and Lynch are 2nd and 3 rd picks but will be evaluated because of the NFL QB issues.

With football, the past is a measuring stick for future play but odds are not in Fortes favor going forward. History always repeats itself. I think he slowly tappers on, this next year he will be ok, but not what he use to be. You get rid of people one year before not one year after and that is the nature of the NFL. This is building for 2 to 3 years from now, not this year. Realism has to be part of the plan. Who will be relevant in 2 or 3 years from now? Forte would not have been. Bennett is a hit, but keeping him and having him hold out would not do this team any favors and he will hold out if retained. All that does it build a bigger wall going forward. Fox wants team players here and Bennett is on his own plane. Bushrod was no longer contributing. I think Massie is the same type of player that is healthy. An average vet that has some game. The difference is he is in his prime, not on the tail end of a career.

I totally agree with you and Lawson is one of the top 3 rated OLBs. McPhee is a good player but should only be your 2nd leading sacker on a team and then you have something.
