Any time a player is released, someone posts an opinion we should get him. Some sportswriters dont have anything to talk about so they invent shit. This is not a Bear official, just some idiot on the internet.
-
That would be a good catch, former player that had a down year. He was paid 3 year 12 mil. I would say we give him a 1 year 2.5 and let him prove himself. I would say if he plays like he did in Denver, we would be very happy.
-
He doesnt want to be here, if you have a malcontent in the ranks it causes problems in the locker room. Is is not like the Bears are ,;(he talks to much, lets get rid of him). There is a reason for this. He wants more money and it will be a problem if we dont give it to him. We're in the middle of a rebuild so better to try to get something before its to late. I suspect with all other trades, would be lucky to get a 4th and probably be a 5th.

I think we need more pass rush and even thou they all fared well, can we count on any of them to do better than 10 sacks a year? We need one thumper we can count on to be a consistent threat other teams scheme for.

Here is a Aaron Lemmings complete offseason projection
Stinger226 replied to Stinger226's topic in Bearstalk
I think if we add Stanley and Jeff Allen, that would kick ass. Montgomery back in case Grassu needs more time. Allen is a very good player. -
Here is the link to his proposal for the offseason. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1J9pgRpj...dit?usp=sharing …

All of them look good from this side of the draft, but look at the last several years, Luck is probably the only that proved anything so far. Winston and Mariota look probably doing it, but havent got there yet. Bridgewater looked good his first year and not so hot last year. the other QB that is ascending is Derek Carr, but look at all the early picks in QBs in the last few years, not a lot of winners.

I think Fleener( I like Dewayne Allen better) would be a mid priced FA. There are several OLs that will fall in the mid priced FA slots. I think Jackson will draw 10 mil, or maybe a little higher, and the Bears wont be paying that . If we go by what Pace states and with what he did last year, He will have one top tier player so no way we grab Jenkins and Jackson. I think Jackson will be over paid because of the SB performance, but look at his stats, he is not a 10 to 12 a year player. A very good player but I dont see that happening. I think we target one upper tier player and then grab a bunch of mid level players. I think they would rather pay Trevathan 8 mil a year than Jackson 10-12 , that would leave the money for another upgrade somewhere else. The strength of the draft is in the defensive line, so if anything we grab two guys for the front seven in the draft. I think we could sign Trevathan and then grab another ILB at a mid level price, like James Laurinaitis, or a Rolando McCain. I think the only way they add a TE is if Bennett is chased. I prefer Allen to Fleener, but there is also Ladarius Green as a possibility. As far as the money goes you give AJ 15 mil, save some money to get a deal done with Long later this year that wackes a big chunk off. Add an 8mil player and between the 3 you knocked off 30 mil from that large cap space. I am like everybody else on here and want all the big names but that just isnt going to happen. So one large and many mid level FAs.

So does it look bad for Washington to draft RG3 and then take Cousins in the third? It paid dividends for them. You have to draft BPA with an eye on need. We need OL or any defensive players so the BPA will fit one of our needs.
-
This isnt a great class for QBs, everybody blows up the prospects and hope they turn out well. There will be a few that succeed but there is no stars in this group. We are better off drafting a Prescott or a Hogan and try to develop them. We need playmakers on defense or a stud OL before we address the QB position.
-
Any GM that just drafts for need doesn't usually keep his job long.
-
That is realistic view of our potential free agency
-
Sure it would be nice to have him but if your drafting a RB that early you wont be having a RBC approach, which we have to many other needs to draft a RB that soon.
-
Last year Grassu shouldnt probably even played, but they like him alot. This year will end up being ok, but after a couple of years he should be up to speed. He is not physical enough to play guard. They have to many holes to fill, to pay a center big money when they drafted the future starter last year.
-
For CBs I would say Alexander has more upside. What say you
-
I dont have problem with any of the names, except for Lee( a workout warrior) that boosts his draft position. Elliot just doesnt make sense. We are bringing back AJ, with White looming, putting that much of an investment in a RB with Langford is on the team would be dumb.
-
Those reasons all make sense, but if you could get him for a vet min. it would be fine. I dont think Royal is going anywhere, he still has money coming, there will hope he stays healthy. I think the 4th and 5th WRs will need to contribute on special teams, so I would say they wont consider him.
-
I think you can get a good starter with your second pick and dont think he will be there for our 3rd. So is he worth the risk? I think with White being injured last year, I think Pace doesnt take the risk of him not turning out a stud.
-
Why would you not get their first back? 1/one of the seconds and maybe a 4th. You have to get their first in any deal and that would be a perfect place to draft Ragland.
-
Wentz will not be there, but that would create a great trade scenario if he was.
-
Incognito resigned with Buffalo, so that doesnt matter
-
Aldon Smith is an interesting name. He is currently suspended until november, so he wont be around for most of the season, but going forward could be interesting.
-
Wow did a good job of putting that together.

Pick 8 free agents we bring in and you get 1 in the 8-9 mil range 5 in the 4-6 mil range 2in the 1 to 2 mil range Guys be realistic, we will not get Jackson, Trevathan and Kelechi Osemele. We will get one of those choices. my list Trevathan for 8 mil Jeff Allen/OG for 5 to-6 mil Jaye Howard/DT for 6 mil ( he has reported that he wants 8 mil, but I dont think he gets it Prince Amukamara/CB for 5 to 6 mil Dewayne Allen/TE for 5 mil ( I think we trade Bennett on draft day and get a 5th round pick) Jarid Crick/DE for 3 to 4 mil David Burton/FS for 2 mil( ties to Fox land him here) Blair Powell/RB for 2 mil (competes for the #2 job) Our own free agents we bring back Jenkins/DE-Porter/CB and Miller at TE
