  1. Other than the first two names, the rest not much to aspire to
  2. I agree to go with Trev. I think with all the cap space they reup Jeffery, extent Long, resign Porter,Miller, and Jenkins. I think mid level players we could sign are: OG= Jeff Allen, Micheal Harris, Mackenzy Bernadeau OT=Donald Stephenson,Joe Barksdale,Ryan Harris OC= Will Montgomery (I think they resign him to give Grassu another year to grow) QB=Matt Moore ( I think they may bring in a vet backup and he played under Fox in Car) TE= Ladarius Green,Dwayne Allen (only if they let Bennett leave) DE=Cedric Thornton,Jared Crick ILB=James Laurinaitis,David Hawthorne,Zach Brown CB=Sean Smith,Prince Amukamara,Patrick Robinson,Sterling Moore S=David Bruton,Walter Thurmond,George Iloka Assuming we sign Trevathan, these are the players I would like to see up bring in Jeff Allen/OG David Burton/S Sean Smith/CB Jarid Crick/DE
  3. I did a Fanspeak using Walter's big board. Other than Wright in the 3rd, I took best player available. My criteria was a higher rated player than my draft slot. 11: R1P11 DT DEFOREST BUCKNER OREGON 41: R2P10 LB JAYLON SMITH NOTRE DAME 72: R3P9 OLB SCOOBY WRIGHT ARIZONA 107: R4P8 G SEBASTIAN TRETOLA ARKANSAS 150: R5P11 CB ERIC MURRAY MINNESOTA 188: R6P10 FB GLENN GRONKOWSKI KANSAS STATE 207: R6P29 OT AVERY YOUNG AUBURN 209: R6P31 RB TYLER ERVIN SAN JOSE STATE 228: R7P9 K ROBERTO AGUAYO FLORIDA STATE I think this draft would have all players contribute this year. With the first 4 picks as starters provided Smith is able to hit the field this year. Aguayo was on the board with the last pick and was the highest rated kicker.
  4. I hope your right but if we go by last year and what Pace says, there will be one big signing. So who between Jackson or Trevathan, do you pick? There will be a couple mid range ply r s, so who do you think that they are?

If were going to bring in a DL , lets just get a 5T instead of screwing with a rookie playing a new position.
  6. I read where the Colts will try to resign Fleener and let allen go, of which I think is overall a better player.
  7. Well its time to start trimming the roster and him and Ducasse is a good place to start.
  8. I agree, I think he has a legitimate shot at the third back.
  9. I think Cravens is a little light for a ILB, I would probably say Scobby Wright instead, but he has been going more in third round in mocks. the rest is solid.
  10. Pace has stated many times that he will go BPA and as much as I agree we need to go D with the first 3 rounds, I can see Stanley dropping to us and us taking him. I prefer Jack,Buckner, but not Smith as a injured first rounder. If you look at most ranking, the only other upper first rounder defensive players is Hargraves /CB and Jalin Ramsey/CB.
  11. I did a draft on Fanspeak (Matt Millers ratings) that is based on what I put forth in Free agency: 1------Buckner/DE/Ore-----I drafted on the base of PBA and he consisting gets high draft ratings on most mock drafts 2------Jaylon Smith/ILB/OLB---Smith was still there and even thou injured a top 5 player in the second round,I had to take him 3------Scooby Wright/ILB/OLB--Wright can play either position and going with the BPA position I felt the need to draft him ( With Trevathan-McPhee-Smith(when healthy) and Wright we have the makings of a great group of versatile LBs 4------Xavier Howard /CB/Bay--A big corner to add to the mix in case we dont retain Porter 4b-----Tyler Higbee/TE/WK--- this is the pick I traded with Atl for Bennett-a big TE with blocking skills 5------Miles Killebrew/S/SU--- another S in the fifth round with upside 6------Aaron Burbridge/WR/MSU-now I am trying to add depth to our WR corp 6b----Wendall Smallwood/RB/WVU---With the news on Forte, I feel we will draft another RB to add the mix 6c----Kevin Hogan/QB/Stan----I think at some point we add another QB prospect-Hogan averaged 66% completion percentage through his college career and great size 7-----Tyker Mathews/OT/BYU-- roll the dice on a large OT in our last pick what the team looks like with FAs and the draft QBs------Cutler-Fales-Hogan-------I think they may consider bringing in a veteran backup but will not pay much money for him(Matt Moore) a former Fox backup RBs------Langford-Carey-Smallwood-Perry-------Perry can play special teams so he may make the team again as the 4th rb WRs-----Jeffery-White-Royal-Wilson-Burbridge----This is a strength if we can keep everyone healthy TEs------Miller-Lee-Higbee------This is still an area we could use an upgrade but if they repair damage with Bennett it would benefit team OTs------Leno-Long-Fabuluje-Becton---Leno needs to take a step forward to make this unit up to par OGs-----Slauson-Allen-Omameh---I think we still bring in another low cost guard to add to the depth (Troutman) (Bernadeau) OCs-----Grassu-Montgomery----I think we may bring back Montgomery to give Grassu more time to grow DEs------Jenkins-Buckner-Ayers-Ferguson- Washington---This is a spot where I think they may have Houston fall back to this position OLBers---Young-McPhee-Houston-Smith( if he ends up coming back this year) ILBers----Trevathan-Wright-Timu-Anderson---this may be an area where we add another low end free agent (Joe Mays) (Audie Cole) NTs------Goldman-Gaston-Unrein-----I think Unrein may make the team playing both DE or NT CBs-----Fuller-Porter-Callahan-Howard-Browner---I think this starts to become a strength for our team S--------Amos-Killebrew-Burton-Prosinski ---I think they move on from Rolle and Mundy conclusion: I dont think we can address all of our weaknesses in one off season but with a good draft, I think we are well on our way to a big upgrade If we can get Trevethan and draft Smith and Wright, this could end up being a huge stength
  12. I think we are 2 defensive playmakers and some quality additions to the OL away from a possible playoff run. We still need to add two ILBs,. one DE, one S and another pass rusher. (two of those have to be playmakers.) If we can get one or two OLs our offense will be much improved.
  13. I think if Pace addresses free agency as last year, he wont be with heavy laden contracts that cost us down the road. So if a scenario pans out similar to what I laid out: We resign Jeffery say an average of 11 per year We subtract Bennetts contact and resign miller for an average of 3 per year that picks us up 2 mil. Tervathon goes for 8 mill You should get by for the rest of the names I mention for around 18 to 20 mil so that would only cost against our cap maybe 38 mil which leaves us in good shape.
  14. The only history we have to look at is Paces moves last year and what he is saying about this years FAgency Last year he signed 15 free agents. McPhee got 5 year 39 mil. ( the only large money deal) I think he does the same situation this year. One big money guy and several 3 year 15 mil. type deals. I think he grabs Trevathan for like 5 year 40 mil deal. I think he grabs Jeff Allen for 4 year 20 mil. I think he grabs David Burton/SS/Den ( he played under Fox and has played well in a backup role, a ascending player) I think we resign Jenkins as a rotational DE player. I think we sign Robert Ayers/DE ( he played under Fox and can be gotten for low end money) I think we resign Jeffery and with White and Royal being healthy, we just end up drafting a Wr in later rounds. I think we end up trading Bennett on draft day and get a 4th round pick from Atl for him.(Pace and Fox aren't much into players with issues) I think we resign Miller to a team friendly deal and draft one in later rounds.(remember we traded for Lee in midseason) I think we resign Porter to a team friendly deal.(also sign Brandon Browner/CB/No) We fill some needs with FAgency and will support other weaknesses with the draft.
  15. What would you like to bet? I think he makes more than the 7.5 you suggested. Also I may be reaching for Allen, maybe 5 mil a year would be the top of the pyramid. My point is Pace will make one player with larger money. I think it will be on defense. Hopefully Jackson or Trevethan. I think do add a FA to fill the RG position, maybe J. Evans, he was just released by NO.( he is older but good stock for a stop gap)
  16. I think this tells us much about where the Bears think they are at this point in time. If they thought they were a potentially a playoff team next year, they would have made him an offer. If they think it will be 3 years from now to be a SB contender then they are doing the right thing. He was a very good player, but the Bears are looking for the future and we are all in the now. It is just a fact of football to start going young at every position. I think this means we will draft one in one of our 6 th round picks. I think we will be just fine with a RB by committee scenario.
  17. You keep throwing out these big contract players, I just dont think Pace will do that. Last year he signed one player to real good money. McPhee got 5 years 39 mil. Osemele will command more money than that contract. I think we end up getting someone like Jeff Allen/OG/KC. He played well last year, came from the area, and will be get paid 5 to 6 million. I think if we sign a bigger contract it will be on defense. I think we will go after Jackson or Trevathan ,one of them will be a Bear this year, and not Osemele.
  18. I think Norman is going to be a high priced free agent and Pace has already mentioned that he wont be chasing any high dollar players. Many middle cost players will be more realistic .
  19. I still think Cravens is to light for an ILB. At 225 lbs he may be effective but with the abuse of the position,it will take its toll. Buchanan has did quite well, but that is a rarity.
  20. I agree, Cash is the only head scratcher. but like the rest of the draft .
  21. I would like Ragland if Jack and Smith are gone. He is going to be a long time starter with leadership qualities. Not as studly as the first two LBs but no complaints. I think we address Safety before we grab a CB but then that would depend on the board plays out. Otherwise a good job.
  22. I did a fanspeak draft using Drafttek's rankings. 11: R1P11 OLB MYLES JACK UCLA 41: R2P10 OLB SCOOBY WRIGHT ARIZONA 72: R3P9 G VADAL ALEXANDER LSU 103: R4P8 DT CHRIS JONES MISSISSIPPI ST 138: R5P11 QB BRANDON DOUGHTY WESTERN KENTUCKY 167: R6P10 S SEAN DAVIS MARYLAND 186: R6P29 TE DAVID MORGAN II TEXAS-SAN ANTONIO 189: R6P32 DT QUINTON JEFFERSON MARYLAND 198: R7P9 WR KEYARRIS GARRETT TULSA Jacks and Wright can both play inside and out and both provide pass rushing skills Alexander is huge and can start from day 1---him and Long on the right will be engaging Jones and Jefferson both lineup at DE and provide depth with upside Morgan reminds me of Zack Miller and was way productive Doughty is a quite an interesting prospect
  23. Explain the love for Nkemdiche? He is a stud but produced like a end string Penn State lineman. I dont like players that have effort and lack of production. To be a risk for that high of a pick. Many better choices at that spot.
