As I looked going into the draft was expecting Pace to get 3 backups at weaker positions. Instead he got a player that will make a huge contribution this year. The thing we have to keep in mind is now we have a coaching staff in place that developed players and we are not use to that. we all liked Howard but what they went out and did was improve the rushing game., adding Monty, Davis, and Patterson. What Pace is doing is building an offense that Nagy wants. Last year we were 21st in offense. I suspect that want a top 10 offense, which will make the defense better with less time on the field. If he gets 3 players this year that can contribute its a win win. How we get better: MT takes a step forward With Davis , Monty and Patterson we now have improved the running game. Robinson will be fully healed and be a big contributor this year. Miller will be improved. I suspect Burton will be more incorporated in the offense.Patterson will contribute. Smith and Floyd will play better. HaHa is a better S than Amos.

When they talk about vision, contact balance, missed tackles, this is the dude for that. I think Louie liked him. Thanks AZ this is a good tape.

We have no knowledge of how he will preform until he gets in games. What I do know is since Nagy became coach, we are a winning football team. He had a lot to do with this pick. 12-4, I'll trust what he wants. We were 11th in rushing last year in the NFL. I like the fact Nagy wants to be a better running team. Cohen, Davis and Monty gets us into the top 5 in rushing, its a win win, no matter whether we liked Howard and thing this is a step back. Pace has made many mistakes as the GM but for the last 2 years he has put together players that has got us to 12-4. We have one of the best rosters in the NFL now, a SB contender. As long as we get to a SB, I dont really care about how he gets us there.

He is never going to have a 60 yard run but will have a lot of 20 yard runs. If you liked Hunt, your going to like his twin. Both have the same long speed 4.62 and 4.63. Hunts combine numbers are almost exactly the same as Monty.Hunt was second in missed tackles the year he came out behind Monty, Monty lead the nation in missed tackles the last two years. Coming out of college he is more of a accomplished WR. Hunt weighted 216, Monty 215. same height. So will all of your negative Nellies be okay if he has Hunts numbers?

I hope Jason doesnt do something stupid after this pick. I would miss his arrogance.
-
I dont trust Chase if he plays half a season. Instead of 11 or 12 wins, more like 7 or 8.

Besides Pace, Nagy had a lot to do with this pick. If he is our K. Hunt, I would say all of this is a winner. Pace didnt grab a backup, he got a front line player that will have an impact on the offense this year. If he ends up with 2 or 3 players that make a contribution this year, I think that is the best we can expect. Buffalo took a RB with the next pick so I think he went after his guy because he wouldnt be there at 87. This means Mizzel is gone, thank God.

Antwaan Taylor/OT is ranked everywhere as top 15 player that is still there especially when 6 drafting teams need OL.

The Packers drafted potentially good players. Gary is the closest thing to Mack coming out of the draft. He is a boom a bust player. Has injury and lack of motor questions. Savage will be a good player but at best ranked 5th best for S. Highest ranking was at 58. Seems they could have gotten him in the 2nd round. The Lions took a good player a little high but fits their needs as the new regime let Ebron go when experts compare E.J they use Ebron as his upside. Minnesota made a good pick that will help them immediately .

Since we actually do not need a starter anywhere, what depth spot is the biggest priority? If we lose MT, Chase can cover a few games, last year we had this scenario and we finished 12-4. If MT is out for the year we are screwed anyway. If we lose a WR, we have M. Hall, Patterson, and Wims as backups. position is good If we lose Davis we still have Cohen, Nall and Patterson, that would work out. If we lose Burton- a problem, Sheehan would have to step up and fins some help. If we lose a OL we have Coward, Sowell, Larsen, Beavers, and Allen to backup, position will be okay If we lose a CB we have Tolliver, MacManis, Joseph, Franklin III, and Mincy, I would say we may need help If we lose a S we have Bush and Houston-Carson, definitely we need help. If we lose an edge we have Irving, Fitts, and Lynch, could probably need some help here. I we lose a ILB we have Kwit, and Joel Iggy, I think we would be okay. If we lose a DL we have HHR, Williams, Anderson and Bullard, probably would get by. The biggest depth priority is TE, S.CB and potentially edge and RB. I also think Pace thinks offensive needs are more important than defensive needs. D was tops in the league if they take a step back, they will be still top 10. The offense needs to take a step forward from rated 21 in the league. O will be more more important. So I think our 3,4,5 picks will be TE, S, CB, and possible RB if the BPA is in the mix. There are still several high ranked Ss and CBs left in the draft. TEs and RBs are in the mix depending on how the draft plays out.

I seen him rated anywhere from 58 to 113. That shows you the amateur draftneaks are all a guessing game.
-
To be honest I do not think they think it is a weakness or it would be a priority . The draft will tell the story.

I just signed up for The Athletic and with that I got Dane Buglers draft guide. After everything I have digested, here is my last mock draft. 3 ) We trade back in the fourth with Denver and get 113 and 125 4) Edwards/S can play several positions and a physical tackler. 4) Hollins/OLB good quickness 4) Isiah Johnson/CB good speed and size 5) A.Mack/TE good speed and route running 7) Tony Pollard/RB good size and quickness, can make the splash plays, excellent receiver. 7) A. Bars/OG played for Harry so he knows what he is capable of going forward.

The comparisons don’t work. Goldman is a different position with different responsibility, and RRH is also subpar. Why I feel comfortable saying this is the fact that neither RRH nor Nichols ever really stepped up and/or surprised last year. At best they were the DE equivalent of QB game managers. As you say they are very average, you really think your going to get a difference maker in the 3rd round. I doubt that a middle round 5T is going to come in and beat out 2 developmental players already on the roster. you will see a step up in production as Nichols gains more strength and experience.
-
His highlight film looks good as do many prospects. I listed him because him and Sternberger were the only 2 TEs they brought in a private visit. As you said you didnt like him I viewed many draft profiles and he is more of a 4th or 5th round pick but has good catching ability.
-
Since Pace is going to go with the BPA, here is my list of players I would be happy with with draft value around that spot in the draft. Henderson/RB Sanders/RB Sternberger/TE Oliver/TE Howard/OT McGovern/OG Jordan/OG Miller/edge/Ala Walker/edge/Georgia Savage/S Hooker/S Johnson/CB/Ken Long/CB Obviously there are some higher ranked players that would be good, but I doubt if any of the top 50 would drop that far.

If we take Love , 5th at the earliest, prefer 7th.
-
The problem is you have to trade draft capital of which we dont have and also a 4 to 5 mil contract. Not likely.
-
NIchols is a player, there is usually a big jump between the 1st and 2nd year.
-
I think if Sanders or Henderson is there we take them in the 3rd. In the fourth Singletary, or Williams In the fifth I think they like Armstead or Weber In the 7th James Williams or Mattison. I actually think if we didnt draft a RB we would be fine with Nall moving on the roster and Patterson taking 40 reps.
-
The more tape I watch the more I get confusion. I have been watching some tape on R. Anderson and he looks pretty good, minus the injury worries. Also Mattison from Boise State, has a good highlight film.I am not sure why but I keep thinking R. Armstead will be our pick in the 5th.
-
depending on draft value for the round hes picked in but a nose tackle backup not as a 5T.
-
We have cap money, but someone like Suh would probably demand a 8-10 salary for one year. He made 14 mil last year.
-
I think he goes with BPA in the first 3 rounds , so anybody we dont get a depth positions we miss in draft we will definitely find after vets are released.
-
He is listed as a starter and started the last 5 games. There is usually a big jump from year 1 to 2 because of adapting to playing at NFL speed and the fact they get stronger on a program. Yes a stud there would upgrade the front 7 but there is no guarantee one will be there in the third round.. Anybody as BPA Im ok with. If LDT, or OLB, but I really dont see a WR or NT at that spot.
