McPhee, Foster, I think are locks to be most snaps, then I think Jones passes Bostic on depth spot. Not much said about Bostic all pre season, think he may be facing some problems seeing the field.

I fear with the time it takes from coming back from this injury that he will be lost in transition.If he's not ready for the start of the season then probably the PUP list and then poof he just wont be around anymore to get fit in the system.

There is a reason they drafted him, #1 - wanted more speed-#2- they must somewhere think the back to take Fortes spot as a starter wasnt on our roster yet. #3 They may think Langford is a difference maker. Every player with a new regime is in a (make or break year). Nobody last year was successful up the middle with Slauson hurt and Garza on the decline. After looking at tape of last year, Pace and Fox choose a RB in the 4th round which pretty well tells us, they didnt think much of our backups last year. I want everybody to be successful but adding a back with speed gives us a much brighter future than Carey does. Foxes RBC only comes into play when you dont have an outstanding RB to carry the load. We will use all three of our roster backs , not because of there ability but to keep Forte as fresh as possible thru the season.

I agree a smaller version of the Bear head on navy would be a nice look.

With the recent OTAs a few things we learned. Ferguson is lighter which puts him in play for LDT position. I think with McDonald's circus life, Ego,and Ratliff moving to RDT that those will be our starting DTs. Forte's here and Marty is not. Funny thing is both Bennett brothers are holding out for their respective teams.

He has length but technically we dont have DEs in this 3-4 , every where Fangio's breakdown is listed it is LDT and RDT. typical size for that position is 6-3 to 6-5, 290 to 310. He may be able to play it but the position is required to take up space and hold the line in rushing lanes. He just appears to light.

Fact is B. wants a new contract but still has two years on current deal that is not for small change. He has no leverage, he will be around when he cant get what he wants given to him. When training camp starts he gets fined and money comes out of his pocket. We dont have the money to throw at Wilks with out getting rid of some contracts, simply wont happen. we have 8 TEs on the roster because we need a competent backup. Hopefully one or two sticks out.

I just read an article on this kid and looked up some info, he had 33 PBU and 13 INT in his career. He didnt get drafted because of his small stature. My defensive line comments just took a hit today. McDonald was the foundation of potentially decent line. Now we have a hole, one less rotational player. We need to add one, someone with the L and R DT positional characteristics. I recommend going out and grabbing Fili Moala/DE last with the Colts, one year ago he tore his ACL, should be able to practice by training camp. Another would be Red Bryant. He is not the pass rusher we would have gotten out of McDonald but can provide the run defense. Not much options here but as SCS suggested moving Houston to DE.
