He was the top rated player on the board, wouldnt have lasted past the top 10, so it was a valve pick. I liked Cooper more but he wasnt there.
-
I think there both studs. good info
-
I think if he has skills they will find a way to put him on the field. I have been reading as much as I can find about our draftees and like them more than when they were drafted.
-
He may be better, but not sure his talent level is going to upgrade the Oline all that much.
-
Everybody does their boards according to their grades, fact is NFL teams view some players differently and with a limited number of picks go after what they think is best for them.
-
Anthony Collins is still out there. He sucked last year but played well when he was in Cincy
-
there was no way we were going to trade up for anybody, we simply didnt have enough draft picks.
-
I think they will be good tackles but not all pros by there second year. They havent played a down in the NFL and not sure looking good on paper guarantees anything.
-
Collins is a good player and I guarantee, a good team with a late round pick(NE) would gladly give up a pick. It is there way of getting a mid first for a late round pick. We will have no chance of getting him. I would say he would sign with NO if he stays a UDFA.Its his home.

None of this means anything now but absolutely looks good going forward.

I agree he is an elite talent, or I should say was a great talent. Look at last year and that could be what he will get accustomed to now. Fact is he has never been to a playoff game, that is not all on him but it does say that having a great WR is not necessary the key to having success. Let's face it he is getting old, smart people get rid of players the year before not the year after. He is past history and considering his QB in NY will not have the same success as he did with the terrible Cutler. He is a memory now. I think if your a Bears fan you embrace this team and throw criticism when it is due not before the party starts. I just dont understand where living in the past doesnt anybody any good. People complain about when Urlacher was let go, Tillman, and now Marshall, there gone and there is good reasons there gone so embrace the 2015 Bears and let go of the teams that got us 4 PLAYOFFS SPOTS IN 19 YEARS.

I agree on most of your points but think this will take time to put everything together but think there is great upside for this defense. I think we will see a great improvement on player development. If everything or almost everything falls in place, could be a 10-6 team but more likely 8-8 and possibly 7-9. We just dont know how far, the coaches and of course Cutler can carry us on a new approach to a football team.

I think a couple of days at looking at our players before the draft, may have influenced some of our draft picks. 2 defensive players on one of the worst defensive teams in our history? What that says to me: We didnt draft an edge rusher, because we have them on the team. If Goldman is our NT that leaves Ratliff, Ferguson, McDonald and Jenkins to play L and R DT positions and that bodes well for our roster. Amos was drafted for depth, but see him taking some snaps from Rolle down the role, could be a sneaky good pick. Also would say still some hope for Vereen. CBs has plenty of depth past Ball, Jennings and Fuller. Hurst and Al L-J have upside. Also I think Glenn may stick. I think our RT is already on the roster, Tayo is a long range prosect,we will see how it works out. There are still some OT free agents we could still go get if they dont think we have that guy on the roster. I think Ola could be the RT or RG and move Long out there. Or long to LT and Bushrod there. FA Joe Barksdale is still out there to grab. Bennett is stuck here whether he wants more money or not, and think we have enough bodies behind him to be ok at TE. RB- Forte will have less carries as we give other guys snaps to keep Forte healthy. Rodgers and Langford could add some change of pace to what other teams are use to with us. Langford has some speed. QB- We are stuck with Cutler but dont think that is as bad of a spot as some seem to think. We run more and limit his TOs . We added speed and a true slot WR and I think our WR position is much better position to succeed than last year.

Brandon Marshall is 31 years old and soon to be 32. He is starting to have nagging injuries, this is last years stats: 2014 CHI 13 13 61 721 11.8 47 8 PLUS his personality wears on players (4th team in career) he creates chaos where ever he goes. I dont give a shit about all of that, but when Pace and Fox were interviewing players, there were only a few that didnt want him to leave. You have to read between the lines, old, nagging injuries, creates chaos. We have a new regime, trying to rebuild a bad team. What great things did we do with Marshall on the team. 8-8 and 5-11. I dont think he was the great player you think he was. White brings an aspect we didnt have on the team last year, a big WR with speed. We were going to add that element whether Marshalled stayed or not, so that would have detracted us from grabbing someone else in taking a speed WR in the draft, because FAgency didnt have that person to grab. Conclusion: Marshall needed to be gone whether you agree with it or not. He saved us 4 mil and that money was used to upgrade our defense which totally sucked. Wait and see what happens in NY when he doesnt get 150 balls thrown his way. Watch that party. Rolle is a durable , leader type player that sevres several needs. Better safety play, leader on defense and a great work ethic. He basically took Peanuts place but has a history of being healthy, not something you can say about Tillman the last two years. Tillman is two years older. We cant predict what the difference between Marshall and Beasley is worth compared to White and Pernell, because it cant ever happen. If we become a winning football team that is all I care about, I dont care how we get there. 4 playoffs spots in the last 19 years is just not good enough.

There is a lot to like about this draft, of course we wont know for 3 years. White, a potential top 10 WR, stud with speed and work ethic. Marshall with speed, youth and wonderful attitude. Larry Fitzgerald type upside Goldman, an anchor for a new 3-4 will be the starter by the end of the year. He will end up being B J Raji type Grasu, a future Olin Kreutz, born leader and go to war mentality. tough and gritty. Olin Kreutz for his upside Langford, didnt like this pick at first, but could actually be our RB of the future. Has speed and work ethic. His upside is CJ Anderson, the Bears now have the zone blocking scheme that many one cut runners excelled in. Amos, a sneaky good pick, I think he could possibly be Roller replacement in two years with him playing a lot of nickel corner this year. Tayo is a huge OT with core strength, I see him developing into Big Cat Williams type if he can keep his weight at 325. Moves well for a huge man. UDFAs Glenn and Timu could be sleepers and at least make in on the practice squad.

There were some picks I thought there were better choices for, but the more I read about these prospects the more I like them. Amos and Langford stick out the more you read about them. The 6th round tackle, if we control his weight could be a RT starter for years. Has great core strength, and if he stays at 325 could be a Big Cat clone. Glenn and Timu could stick with this team also. There lack of speed caused them not to get drafted, but are hard working, tough football players that could eventually find a place to play. Glenn needs to add 10 lbs but would be a good nickel corner. Goldman will shine,White is a total stud, with work ethic, will be a top 10 WR in three years. He will surpass Jeffery in a few years. A better Marshall with speed and a good attitude. This draft could have 6 future starters in it, how cool would that be.
-
He was drafted one round sooner than he should have, been he wouldnt have been there one round later. He is Olin Kreutz and once he takes over the center position and stays there for 10 years, you will be praising this pick in four years when he goes to a pro bowl. Probably my favorite pick of this draft.
-
Your right, I havent been doing my homework, but am trying to read everything written about all of our new players and am finding more things to like about some of them. Langford, has some scouts saying good things about him, they originally having a lower opinion about him before. Amos is a very interesting prospect and Rob Rang has him listed as his 2nd rated FS. Jacoby Glenn has really good upside. Had 11 PBU and 7 interceptions in 2014. Needs to add strength but could be a diamond in the ruff. Kevin White may have the greatest upside of any player drafted, speed, toughness, desire and work habits are huge. Grasu may be my favorite pick. He was drafted one round sooner than he should have been, but has Kreutz written all over him. Born leader and having Long as his best friend, they both have that go to war mentality. Timu is a slow afoot tackle machine, who I see making the practice squad his first year. Just a bonehead football player in the mode of Bolander. Goldman has everybody saying good things about him and in the second round making him one of the best valved picks.

What is one trait you find in all great people that succeed in life and particularly in sports? They work hard and have the desire to be better. That is a trait I think Pace is looking for.
-
He started the last three seasons (39 games), compiling 11,991 yards, 86 touchdowns, 30 interceptions and a completion percentage of 66.6. As a senior, he completed 63.5 percent of his passes for 4,736 yards, 30 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. I think that is one of his strengths, the accuracy thing.

His highlights look good, but he has a lot of work to do to be a starter in the NFL. Speed is not taught, so he has that going for him.
-
One of the scouts must have pushed to grab him. They just dont pull names out of a hat.
