Its about this year and depth, not comp. picks.
-
I think Nagy wants to expand his offense and Howard limited his options. Howard has value to someone just not in our offense. He excelled under Fox but we we were a losing team. Now we're winning so let Nagy do we he wants.
-
This offseason is working out nicely. Something to consider is having Mack and Smith around for the whole year should have a uptick to the other players with their work ethic. We added a little more speed. A better SS, a more physical slot corner and a full year of Smith.

If they draft a TE in the 3rd or 4th, I would say they have doubts about Sheehan.
-
A 6th was all they got. So that is his value. They said last year they had an offer of a 3 but they a good record and didn't have his reply. This year they will add 3 new RBs and still have Nall.
-
There going to sign a OLB, and TE yet in free agency. I think they are focused on a RB, but if a OLB or OL are their at 3 , they may jump on it. Matching what Nagy wants , I would say T. Williams, D Henderson, Sanders all fit . Hard to say on how they grade them but they may like a lower rated RB they think they can get in 4 or 5. I think thinking ahead they need to replace Long (another injured year will decide his fate), or Trevathan as far as projecting the cap savings. I think Joel Iggy is designed to take over for Trevathan so OLB , could definitely be a target.

I think they know what their doing. You can not assume prejnjuries. What if they keep Howard and he got hurt? You can apply coulda to everything. It makes little sense to hang to someone you clearly don't want and let him leave with nothing in return.
-
There doing Howard a favor and at least getting something for him. If he gets X number of touches, it ramps to a 5th rounder. His touches were going to go down, so it created less value for jordon on the open market. Nagy wants to push the offense forward, he thinks Howard bogs it down.

He made many mistakes in his first few years but he is rolling now. Last 2 years have given us players that have us on the brink of the SB. The first year he had the old regime scouting dept. Also until last year he had Fox in his war while drafting. Anyone going to disagree those are 2 negative aspects of what he did.

The best safeties in nfl history was players that had turnovers and impact plays. Amos isn't in the conversation. HaHa can do this. So maybe he is a slightly less at tackling, how much does that matter. Although last year and in his career, he has less missed tackles. Haha

I like the website firstpick.com. it allows trades us using many different grading sites instead of just one.

I like that one, not sure we draft a WR .
-
2 years 24 mil and a starter. We were never in the mix.
-
They rated the best free agents left to sign. Another thing is he will be considered the 3rd edge on the team . I think he thinks he will be the best edge on the team where ever he goes. Ego probably comes in to play and it's always about money.
-
How many coaches around that may notice he is doing something wrong. I doubt he is the problem. I think the problem has to do with where we kick. The lakefront is brutal with wind patterns. I'm curious if I can find the stats for kicking here and away games. I'll check it out.
-
I agree but they may accept the cost for continuity instead of the unknown of a new punter. I'm for the risk but I'm not the GM.
-
The prize is Houston , I think we're waiting for him to accept an offer and his other options. There are a few other edges out there. Shane Ray and Derrick Morgan had some good years but injuries have produced very little the last few years. Then lynch could be back. I think the Houston signing could be problematic on the growth of Floyd who could have his much waited for breakout year. So I think it comes down to money for Houston.
-
He is here on basically a one year deal, and when your up against a cap, you can't always get first choice. I think his durability is a huge part of the signing. A C player for 16 weeks , or a B player for 10? Also its funny how everyone praises Amos mainly because of the PFF ratings and I noticed they gave a better grade to HaHa for last year. We may have our replacements already here in Tolliver and Joseph. They just may need another year of seasoning.
-
I think there are better TE choices that can block than Boykin. I really doubt Sanders is available. I think Henderson may make it to our choice, but my, be able to get, would be Pollard.
-
I totally agree and his play will prove that out.
-
There will be a rookie in the mix. Although I don't want to see Howard gone, if feels like he will be a draft day traded player.
-
Absolutely, but that's football.
-
Pagano has a more aggressive approach to the defense, Skrine is a more physical player that may be a little better at blitzing. The bottom line is Callahan didn't take their offer so they moved on.
-
There just waiting for Houston to take the one year 7 mil offer.
-
I would bet the orginal price was higher when Callahan talked to the bears, probably wanted 9 10 mil., it went down as others got signed, his price went down. So they looked at 9 mil not 7 mil and looked at his injury history.
