This wasn't a pretty win but winning is all that matters. Defense played well with only a few breakdowns. All the breaks seem to go to the 49ers. We never seem to be in a rhythm in the first half but the second half was better. On the road we are at least winning now. 49ers play LA next week and if some of their injured players are back they have a shot to upset in the game. I hope Gurley is still out. A bye and the 2nd seed would be huge going into the playoffs.

Im fine with that, if your going to run with the big boys get it done during the season. The thing you have to remember they have to play us.

I think we have no problem with RRH, Coward,Bullard and we give Floyd a contract. As you I think it will be between Amos or Callahan, with one of them gone. I suspect Callahan goes.

Here is some good Karma

I think it is wonderful that we have a team we are worried about staying together. first of all, Pace has gotten players in the later rounds. Jackson, Cohen, Amos, Howard., Nichols. He is on a roll the last two years with his drafts. This year is the first of the successful years to come, until we have to pay MT we are in good shape. For example, We have Massie probably leaving but we have Coward in place on a cheap contract. We also picked up Beavers that may lead to a fill in spot. If they do not trust those two, we have Bradley Sowell around to fill in until we develop someone., I do not think Amos will command a big contract but I could be wrong. We will have to trust Bush or a new draft pick. We also could grab a FA for a cheap contract over 30 that most teams wont get a big contract too. Callahan is the tricky one, he will probably get a big offer, so if he leaves we have 4 on the practice squad that has been in this system that will have to step up. ' We can stand to lose a few each year because our core is here for at least 2 years and then we have to pay MT, by then contracts like Trevathan and Long will be gone. It will all be fine the key to all of this is being this healthy in the next few years. May I suggest we enjoy the ride, to worry about our future when we just won the division, beat the Packers and are the 3rd seed in a season everybody predicted we might get to 8-8 would be a good year is a blessing. Pace is hitting on everything right now. Nagy is a blooming star as a coach. Fangio is here and chances are of him leaving is slim with the move of teams going after offensive minded young OCs. We have our star in place on defense and MT is developing quite nicely, 9 of our starters on defense are under 27. 9 of our starters on offense are 27 or younger. NO WORRIES---GO BEARS

I picked 10-6 but honestly was hoping for just respectability. Its the positive thinking thing.

It will be so sad, all of these pro bowlers and they will not be able to play in pro bowl. They will be playing in the SB.
-
After you get by Goff, Rodgers and Brees, who are on the team, then who? Wilson is the only other one to come to mind.
-
Actually if he improves that much, I would have to say we would have 2 pro bowl OLBs and probably made it to the SB.
-
5 Pro bowlers. Hicks Jackson Mack Fuller Cohen In addition to the five voted onto the roster, seven players were named alternates: Mitchell Trubisky, Roquan Smith, Trey Burton, Danny Trevathan, Cody Whitehair, Leonard Floyd and Charles Leno Jr.

I am not sure it was you but some remarks were made about us not throwing downfield in the game. I am not trying to find stats to make or break an argument about how good MT is. Out of the top ten in this stat we are 4th with %, so even though it does not sound good, it is compared to the rest of the league. KC has the best % with 44%. I was just making a point that we are high in the league of downfield throws.
-
Remember a couple of those games were with Chase at QB, so you can throw those out as an example. I think Nagy attacks other teams weaknesses and different players are called upon to show up. I think MT had a bad game and then this week did not throw down field so Miller number wasnt called as much.

That would be the best case scenario. Hopefully this team feels communal in their conquest to be better and not to many teams chase them, they want to be here. He is not worth 13 million now, but might be if he keeps improving. With the big money contracts we have on the team, we need some cheap contracts to keep this team together. Coward? RT next year. If Callahan ends up getting a big contract offer somewhere else. We got 4 DBs on our PS and hopefully someone steps up. McManis is playing well but at 30 can not count on him to be our future at that position. If would be nice to get Amos back but anything more than 4-5 a year will be out of reach. The problem is we have no depth at S. That is why seeing Bush play is a good spot to get a good reading on his improvement.

A few game notes: Floyd is starting to become one of the better players on this D. He is all over the place, Since he got the cast off, he has 4 sacks, 1 interception for a TD and plays the run exceptionally. MT was calm and consistent, his running skills are amazing and keeps drives alive. One of the reasons for this run is the fact we have good luck with injuries, the best in the league for lost starter games.

The reason I became a Bears fan was in my teens watching Sayers and Butkus and the asshole neighbor Packer fan. Cohen isnt Sayers, but a very good player and is the most important weapon on the field. Dont get me wrong, A-ROB is a #1 and we have good skill players, but he makes all DC know where is on the field. He makes the rest of the offense go. Very important to this offense.
-
All of this was suppose to be next years results. Since we have come this far, puck it, might as well make a SB run.

I know when these gadget plays fail it makes Nagy look bad but Nagy's play calling has given life to this offense and a few misses isn't going to be a big deal. It will come in to play that ones of these type of plays might lose us a game but some of those type of plays have won us games to. He is way ahead of the curve on those fluffy plays. MT was quite back in the groove, not great but consistent and no TOs. My only complaint(we won) is he is using Mizzell to much, I dont get it. Cohen and Howard both are much better players.

Next year we have 26 million if we just cut Sims. Enough money to bring back Amos and Callahan. I would say Long comes back but they will have someone in line to take his pace because of his injury history. Along the line we have Sowell, Coward, and Willie Beavers to take Massies place. They are all signed for next year(Beavers is on the PS). With Long back we still have need a backup which may be Wizzman comes back but that would be cheap. Also Dejoin Allen is on the PS, he may be a starter after next year for Long. I think they are grooming him to possibly be a starter, I heard they like him but needed to put on weight and get stronger. We also need to resign Lynch for a backup which will have a low salary. I think next year that Nall could get boosted to take Howards place and they trade him at the draft for a low round pick.(we dont have a 6th, that may get it done) The draft will get us some needed depth at S and OL, and maybe another OLB. They could also grab a RB or CB, although we have 4 CBs on the PS plus Tolliver, so the backups may come from that group.
