Garza would start this year and Garcia take over next year going forward.
-
That works too. those are all good names.

The suggestion was 7th pick and a 5th rounder for Cameron-13th pick -3rd rounder Did anybody think they would trade Jimmy Graham? Did anybody think they would trade Kenny Stills? They cut several players for severe cap issues, could they dump a 6 mil salary in Jordan Cameron?
-
I seen one scenario where we trade with Saints who with trying to cut salary, our 7th and 5th round for Cameron Jordon/DE/6 mil-13th pick and 3rd round pick.
-
The brass is so quiet about stuff , hard to tell what they have on there mind. I dont think Garza will be around after this year, that was the thought with the draft pick Garcia.
-
I think the key to the rebuild will be with the OL and DL. We add a stud at LT and a future OC we have a stud line for several years to build with. Peat-Slauson-Garcia-Long-Bushrod(that could be a strong OL for the next 3 years) The DL needs a lot of work Davis-Ferguson-Houston could turn into a very good place to start in the next few years. As far as the drafted players, I was using GBND's big board to valve picks and pretty much took BPA.

I am trying to get into Paces mind with what his plan is , he is quite secretive with his decisions. So what we know: I think the draft will be his big day with several trade downs to acquire more picks. He targeted S,OLB and WR in FA and we made our splash. We will be signing several low cost FAs but there will be no more expensive FAs. projected acquisitions (Hakeem Nicks/WR-Red Bryant/DE-DT--Tarell Brown/CB-CJ Wilson/DE) I think, as they evaluate our roster that we have some prospects that can play.(reason for low activity in FA) As far as the draft: We trade down for more picks We target BPA(so many needs) We add versatile players like Karl Davis,Henry Anderson, Mario Edwards that can play either DE/DT spots. We add versatile players like Quinten Rollins,Eric Rowe,Josh Shaw that can play either S/CB spots. We definitely draft a WR and ILB high. We add a RB. Overall: We rollover our cap after we evaluate what we have and the players we brought in. This year is a rebuilding year and the only way we make a Playoff run is if we ended up having better talent on the team that we didnt see last year. We trade back in the draft to acquire picks. Teams with a need to move up Philly-they want Mariota Cleve-they want Mariota St Louis-with Foles that want a top WR NO-they bring in Mariota to be Brees replacement in a couple of years. So with this in mind our draft: (Parker did a good job with this scenario) 1st/7th-we trade back with Cleve and get 12 and 44.(Cleve grabs Mariota) 1st/12th-we trade back with Houston and grab 16 and 51 (Houston moves to grab Devante Parker/WR Johnson replacement) 1st/16th-we draft Andus Peat/OT (BPA) 2nd/39th- we draft Karl Davis/DE-DT 2nd/44th-we draft Nelson Agholor(draft BMs replacement) 2nd/51st- we draft Alex Carter/S-CB ( big physical player that can play either position) 3rd/ we draft Stephone Anthony/ILB ( team captain type and tackle machine) 4th/ we draft David Johnson/RB ( future starter) 5th/ we draft Garret Grayson/QB ( developmental QB) (we start grabbing one every year) 6th/ we draft Max Garcia/OC ( our center of the future with potential to start first year) We finally have a draft where every player contributes his first year.

You did a very good job with this and I agree the NT position is not necessarily set for the big fat guy. I think with an aging Ratliff and Ferguson we have a two man rotation set with maybe a mid round selection that can play both DE/DT. I also think with little activity in FA past the first few days that we are now bargain shopping and will be bringing in several cheap adds and may rollover most of our cap to next year after we get a good evaluation of our roster. I think because Pace is going to build more with the draft that they attempt to trade down and grab more picks. I think, in no particular order that we grab several DT/DE types like a Davis in the second and a Harry Anderson in the fourth. Add a WR with the first couple of rounds. A CB that could play both CB and S positions , Josh Shaw or Eric Rowe. I think we add a OL prospect, could possible be with our first round pick. I think ILB is also a mid round pick we target. Byrce Hagler and Taiwan Jones.

Matt Miller from BR gave his final big board for this draft. Think he does a good job. Everybody lists Winston and Mariota as top prospects and I dont get it. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2402178...tm_campaign=nfl

The only nitemare would be one of the two QBs at 7, otherwise you can make a case for any of the top 10 rated players at our spot. WR,OL,OLB,NT all can fill a need. My take is who are the special players that make the most difference on a team.
-
I didnt make those statements on the proposal that we draft one, like you said McPhee is that guy. I was referring to scs as NT being the most impactful position on defense. If Fowler drops to us, I see us taking him, but more think that Cooper or White will be there. Also could be a OT. We could make the case for any position on the team, we have so many needs.
-
They may draft Shelton, and he will be a good player, but the most impactful position on the 3-4 is rush OLB. That came out of Fangio's mouth,I will find the interview and post it. If Shelton is not the BPA, he will not be our draft pick. We simply cant draft for need , that's what bad teams do. Shelton will not be the BPA at 7, no matter what you think. He is a top 15 player not a top 10. We will see what the league thinks on draft day.
-
Oh shit, Trent Richardson signed with Raiders.
-
I totally think the BPA could be a OT. There are a couple that will go high and a good OL will help everybody.
-
These are just vet min. contracts, just more options to choose from.
-
I could see us doing some trading, but dont think Gurley will go that high, more of late 1st round valve. What other choices did you have at 15?
-
Inherently we disagree on the importance of positions. We do need some DEs,DTs, just dont think we will be adding them with the 7th pick and so far not in FA. In Fangio's past schemes, he has had smaller quick guys and has had fat guys. By who they bring in will tell us what he favors.
-
I think he adapts to what ever his talent is for that year. I seen a break down of his defense and he listed the lineman LDT-NT-RDT so for the players he had in those spots were 6'3"-6'4" types like 285 to 310. They stated that they will be in the 2-4-5 60% of the time and that they want the DTs to stay on the field instead of subbing. So if one of the DTs drops off to LBer that would be Houston. So the guys upfront need to be more mobile than the typical NT type.
-
Knighton got a 1 year 4 mil contract, if we really wanted him, I think he would be here. I dont think the big fat guy is the ideal guy in Fangio's defense.,Fox has already stated Ratliff is a NT, I dont think he is a big bullshiter.
-
Bears sign LS Thomas Gafford(hey its news)
-
That would be nice, but see him going in the 3rd which may be to soon for our taste.
-
No matter where he plays we need more DEs in the 3-4 scheme on the team, from Foxes mouth he thinks Ratliff and Fergeson can play NT. So I think we draft players like Davis and Harry Anderson that can fit in at either spot.
-
You know as well as I do the best at picking the right mock drafts are about 30%, so not many you can put a lot of faith in. It is hard for people to pick the exact drafted player, so I go by how many right they had that were picked in the first round.
-
I think the more we go forward with the brain trauma thing, the more this is going to happen.
-
The first week of FA is over paying for people. They judge there needs and pay accordingly.
