  1. Agree with everything you said, except for the fact we could get a #2 for him. His age and past will prohibit that. If you look at past trades for a barometer, the valves are always less that what fans think. I would be elated with a 3 and the money that comes with it. If you look at the past of our new leaders, they have one BM like player on the team and their #2 is a slot/speed guy. Jeffery fills the BM spot and they will look for the #2. With two big not fast WRs we got to predictable . I think he is a top 5 WR in the league, but at his age, and disruptions his valve is less desirable. We need to go forward with youth no matter what it costs in victories, because hanging on to older vets just keeps us from leaping forward with a consistent winning team. We have only made the playoffs 4 times in the last 19 years, looking back, that just wasnt good enough, and everything needs to change and that includes letting go of still good older vets.
  2. If we keep the combine in thought but go back and look at production WHO DO WE PICK games-tackles-TFL-S-PBU-INT Beasley:2014 13 34 21.5 12.0 3 0 Dupree: 2014 12 74 12.5 7.5 1 1 Gregory: 2014 11 54 10.0 7.0 Ray: 2014 14 65 22.5 14.5 Fowler: 2014 12 60 15.0 8.5 Orchard:2014 13 84 21.0 18.5 Harold: 2014 12 54 14.5 7.0 Kikaha: 2014 14 72 25.0 19.0 Size and speed matter, competition, work ethic, attitude, tape, production If you take a closer look, if a player is on a real good team, there are usually other play makers that lowers a persons stats looked at some tape on all of the above and have to admit, Ray and Dupree kind of stood out. I threw Orchard and Kikaha in there because of there great stats, something to consider in the 2nd or 3rd round if we dont go with a Edge rusher in the first. I would have no problem if any of those names are on our team after the draft. CONCLUSION: On everything I have seen and read, I wouldnt pick Beasley at 7 and still keep Ray in thought. What I would do is try to drop back and get some extra picks and take Dupree. Let me hear your opinions (again in most cases, it seems to be always changing)
  3. For everybody that stills wants BM. Yes he is one of the better WRs in the league No, he was part if not the bad culture on our team last year. We dont know all the facts but the more you read , the more you realize , he created chaos that just cant be tolerated with a new beginning. I trust the new leaders to decide if he can be controlled or not worth the effort. The answer will come soon.
  4. This year is the start of a new era, new brass, you cant take a risk with the first pick. We have a chance to get a difference maker. Every QB in this years draft has a chance of being a bust, we need a concrete pick not paper mache. 4 years from now there will be maybe 4 from this class still in the league, no stars backups picked high that didnt pan out. As Jason said,NO NO,NO.
  5. I hope that works out, IMO, Houston is the only true 5T type end on the team. We will be adding 2 5T ends, hopefully those two can play there, makes us stronger.
  6. He's not a good QB, look at last year. As a backup, good place for him playing a couple of games a year but as starter? Leaves a lot to be desired.
  7. Matt Miller from BR listed his post combine big board and think he is a smart guy. I find it to be realistic on his rankings. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2377017...e-update/page/2
  8. Doubt it, there is rumor that Pace likes him. This is the time of the year you hear every story under the sun. Nobody plays there hand before the draft or FAgency. Ever since Pace came here, you have heard nothing of there plans, and their is no benefit to tell everybody.
  9. With so many needs dont see a QB being drafted before the 6th round. I think they will find a vet to be the #2 Qb, maybe a Matt Moore.(previous ties to Fox.)
  10. Im sure it wasnt much more than the minimum, so just another option for our rebuilding.
  11. I think if it happens, it will be a 3rd. If they are serious about not having him back, they save 9 mil and will not try to rob anybody. The Colts have a bad taste in their mouth over the Trent Richardson deal, no way its higher. Remember we gave 2 3rds when he was 3 years younger.
  12. With all that I have read about changing to the 3-4 , neither name has been mentioned as a 5-T end. So I am not sure why you assume they are.
  13. Rat and Ego are our NTs and they might translate to the outside, but doubt it.
  14. It would be easy to list the best FA at every position to put on a wish list, but that isnt realistic. I think there are strengths to the draft that we will look to fill spots with and weaker ones that will we look to bring in FAs In the draft we will grab a OLB, DE,CB,RB maybe a WR and probably a QB prospect. so in FAgency: FS: I think probably a Moore/Den or a Seachy/Balt----McCourty costs to much money. DE: WE only have one on the team(Houston) so I think Odick fits the bill at a medium cost. OG: I think Franklin comes in to solidify OL and Long gets moved to OT. TE: Virgil Green as a backup TE(Bennett starter),Thomas way to expensive RB: Hill bad idea-age and milage ,Moreno or an Ingram WR: Smith costs to much, Eddie Royal fills the speed spot-less expensive LB: Dan Skuta-familiarity with the system and will come cheap.
  15. Heard a rumor that had us trading Marshall to SF for Willis. Why SF would: Crabtree wont be back Cris Borland played well last year when Willis was hurt. Notes: contacts are almost identical with all most exact money on cap hit. Bowman is only 26 while Willis is 30.
  16. Washington recorded 76 tackles, 17 tackles-for-loss and 10.5 sacks, while starting 25 of the 51 games he appeared in. (that was in a 4 year career). Beasley had 34 tackles his last year,12 sacks--------------(not as impressive as I thought it would be) great athletes doesnt always translate on the field and these two physical specimens doesnt have stats to back them up.
  17. With all the love for Beasley going on, here is his stat line last year 2014 13 34 21.5 12.0 3 0 34 tackles, not very impressive
  18. That's a good name, but Ravens are smart business men, no way he leaves cheaply.
  19. Like you said, Williams will never slide past 4, he is the best DP on the board.
  20. to be honest with how well the OLBs did and how slow Shelton is, I see him dropping out of the top 10. Also Kevin White, Cooper and Parker will all be top 10.
  21. I kinda thought he would be ILB. but could be wrong. We will know what they think of our LBers as soon as Free agency starts. If we bring anybody in, probably dont have a high opinion of the group.
  22. He had a problem with Emery and bridges have been mended, so should be a good relationship going forward.
  23. With Young coming back from injury, and Jared not fitting the scheme, maybe? Also I have a feeling we might be seeing Dan Skuta coming here, a Vic guy with a high motor and wont be expensive.
  24. that would be nice to get a deal with cleveland and get a 12 and 19 and could still get a Dupree or Ray at that slot. 19 then could give us the big fat guy.
  25. Lorenzo Maulkin/OLB is a guy that has a connection to Hurtt/LB coach. A father figure to him, has size , motor, good stats. a little slow. projects to 3rd or 4th round. maybe if he drops because of speed,,,maybe
