Dan Durkin / Brad Biggs Indicate Ratfliff Might be Gone
Stinger226 replied to DABEARSDABOMB's topic in Bearstalk
He was an all pro at NT in Dallas, all new coaches, why would u assume he's gone? -
I see us maybe signing Culliver/CB from San Francisco, a farigamo guy and draft Shane ray at 6T spot

Bears request an interview with Vic Fangio DC of the 49ers
Stinger226 replied to 'TD''s topic in Bearstalk
Its just media speculating. The problem would be Snyder could just offer him twice the money we would, and that would be a no brainer for him -
He has never said he wanted to coach? Probably he should have the interest first, instead of people assuming he would do that.
-
You got that right, he was referring to having his name associated with the Bears again instead of the former whinny little ex player that acts like a baby. Urlacher deserves to be part of the traditional past , he is not going to be a coach, just the figurehead of a tough football player the Bears use to have play for them, not so much lately. What his administration will aspire too.
-
He answered it honestly, he will figure out what to do with Cutler, but until he gets an upclose look at the situation, he shouldnt have an answer yet. We got to watch every play,he was busying watching his team.,
-
Im not sure Lynch is a good comparision, he had over 1000 yards his first two years in the league, Richardson has 617 in his first 3 years with a robust 3.3 yards a carry average. Yes Blount had 1000 yards his first season in the league, with a 4.6 yard average. Being kicked off a team for being a cancer is not the same as being washed up.

Quinn cant be named a HC until he is done with the Super Bowl so how are they hiring a OC until the coach is there? That doesnt make sense.
-
What have you seen that shows he could be different? He is playing on a team desperate for a RB and is not even dressing.

Bears Hire Josh Lucas as Director of Player Personnel
Stinger226 replied to bradjock's topic in Bearstalk
Lucas left in 2004 and Tucker didnt go to Jacksonville until 2009, so the point is not only wrong but pointless anyways. -
Indy would definitely get rid of him, hes is being paid 3.1 million on a guarantee contract. What is a terrible RB worth?
-
If we get rid of Forte , I doubt if it brings a high draft pick, I suspect maybe a 3rd, not worth the valve of losing him.
-
I agree but they can add some mid priced FAs and improve the team without big contracts. Most people think we can add a few expensive FAs and live in the rose garden, but that is what we have lived with for so long. We added people like Young, Slauson, Ratliff without paying large contracts. Eddie Royal/WR---- he has speed we could use to give us a down field threat Virgil Green/TE------has upside and a connect to Fox Carpenter/OG-------Seahawks have some big money to dish out this offseason and wont be able to this starter. (my thought-move Long to LT, Bushrod to RT, bring Carpenter to RG spot De La Puente/OC----we need to resign him and get rid of Garza, wont cost alot Moore/FS-------------is an above average S with connections to Fox Culliver/CB-----------if Fangio comes our way, maybe we can get Culliver here, better than Jennings and younger

I dont know if it all is going to work out but sure does look good from this chair.

2015 Denver Broncos Free Agents Wes Welker Demaryius Thomas Terrance Knighton Jacob Tamme Will Montgomery Mitch Unrein Rahim Moore Orlando Franklin Nate Irving Quinton Carter Julius Thomas Virgil Green Steven Johnson Aaron Brewer Tony Carter Brandon Marshall Ben Garland We could use a backup TE and all of there TEs are free agents--Virgil Green Brandon Marshall is a no brainer- a stud better than any LB on our roster Rahin Moore he wont command a big salary and is a competent FS We will not be making several big spending free agent signing, so those 3 would add some nice additions to our team with not great expense.
-
I think Ego and Ratliff can play the NT position, but we are staving for 5T ends. Houston, I think could but not sure Sutton has a spot. Allen definitely not. If they switch, and I doubt that, we need two more 5T ends that you didnt address.

I have an off the wall sense of humor so I reflect that in my use of words. Sometimes I succeed and sometimes I dont. -

I think one of his (Fox) strengths is getting good ass. coaches. The list is endless on future HCs he has hired in the past. I hope he gets who he wants. He is a better judge of that than me. -
I dont think there is anyway Johnson lasts until the 7th. If he goes by BPA I doubt if a CB is our first choice. In this years draft DE and WRs are the strongest positions. I think our first pick will be a pass rusher, it will have the most impact on the defense in year one. Here is my take as to the draft. RD 1- Fowler/DE Flo (there will be several choices here at the DE position to choose) RD2- Perryman/MLB Miami we need a leader on defense to stabilize our future RD3- Jalen Collins/CB LSU a big CB who will measure up in man to man coverage RD4 Tartt/SS Samford another body added to a weakness RD5 Shead/OG Okla need more depth at OG RD7 Smith/OC Lou added depth to OL
-
He should hire who he wants , he's captain of the ship now.
-
Pace said he will take BPA over need and we have so many needs anyway. At the #7 spot one of these three will be there and be our choice. Shane Ray/LB-Cooper/WR- or Shreiff/OT
-
He might bring him in, the good thing with Fox is he will have good coordinators with him who ever he hires.
