Garza is all but done, DLP is a free agent. We have A below average Bushrod, Slauson coming off of surgery, Garza(all but done),Long, and we need a RT. Mills is not the answer, IF we resign DLP then: Bushrod, Slauson, DLP, move Long to RT, so we are left with needing a RG and hope the starters stay healthy. That could be decent going forward.

If he drafts 1 stud and ends up with 3 starters out of this draft, he will be doing well. We have too many holes. DBs- Jennings may not around after a DUI, so that leaves us a promising rookie-Fuller. S- We need two safeties LB- maybe Jones develops as a SLB, but the rest are failures. DL- We have Young coming back from injury, the two rookies, Paea if we resign him. The rest are busts. We cannot rebuild this defense in one year. period

The interesting thing is the trades we made Trade: #12 pick, 2nd in ’15 and 7th in ’15 for Bears #7 pick Trade: #18 pick, 3rd in ’15 and 5th in ’16 for Bears #12 pick and 6th in ’15 with the picks: #18- #18 – Chicago Bears (f/KC) – Alvin Dupree – DE – Kentucky This team has the look of entering a rebuilding phase. For that they need draft picks, which is why they traded back. The Chicago Bears stop to scoop up Alvin Dupree who is a gifted pass rusher that can become a complete defensive end if he gets stronger. #39 – Chicago Bears – Denzel Perryman – ILB – Miami (Fl.) Undersized but good range with keen instincts, hitting ability and standout leadership qualities. #43 – Chicago Bears (f/CLE) – Cody Prewitt – FS – Ole Miss Big, physical safety with great leadership qualities and a reputation for thunderous hits. they have only did two rounds will add the other rounds as they pick them. Evaluation: this is just speculation because we have no idea what Pace wants to do but were rebuilding so he may opt for extra draft picks. So far they address the right needs.

I dont think there will be any big money free agents this year. He will be build through the draft and add a couple of pieces. Lots of people will be gone, and keep in mind this will take 2 to 3 years to make us relevant again. Anybody thinking different is living in fantasy land. That is the ugly truth.

You are well spoken in your opinion and agree with you.Several things are different this time, Ernie had input, they moved swiftly and if you have read anything about Pace, he turned down several jobs because he wanted total control over the coach and personal. He took this job, so that means he got it. Everybody worries about Ted, but he is just a money guy, doubt if he even knows all members of the team. He doesnt have to get approval just to report his decisions too. Change springs hope, let him succeed or fail , we will soon be able to figure that out. The coach and first draft will tell us a lot.
-
We dont know how this will turn out, but going in, it appears his has total control, a plan, and knows what to prioritize. I like that this happened right away, had no Bears ties, and gave him complete control. Hiring the HC is the most important thing that will happen and sounds like he knows what he is looking for. With change, it promotes promise and my optimization is back.

there are several age and health issues to take into consideration. An example of this type of situation is Percy Havin being traded from Seattle mid season. He was a cancer to a Super Bowl winning team and they needed him gone. Now with things settled down, there back on track to go to the Super Bowl.

all the information coming out of the locker room is reports from writers and radio and television personalities. As he makes an ass out of himself after a game when everybody can see and hears him argue with teammates. It was not one report but many from different sources. I dont think several different people have formed a conspiracy against him. I agree a winning locker room would make his act more tolerable, but were an awful team and he doesnt handle stress very well. I have a friend that has similar emotional issues and when you spend a lot of time with him, it wears you out. If there are many reports of these antics, I believe them to be true, but you can judge information on your own, I believe them to be true. He has been arrested 22 times for abuse issues, that is a fact.
-
The fact is many of his teammates dont like him, his personality wears thin on teammates, with no leadership on the team. He is a self proclaimed leader. We dont have any strong personalities in the locker room anymore(Kuentz, Urlacher) to off set his craziness. He is still capable of being a good WR but you cant keep him around as he alienates fellow teammates with his craziness. I suspect if you have a strong personality as the coach it may work, but that would be up to the coach if he wants him.

As so many times before, you say things that make no sense at all.

Message Board Rumor: Pace to be Hired As GM
Stinger226 replied to DABEARSDABOMB's topic in Bearstalk
that connection was right, it wasnt officially announced until 2 pm -
He is nothing like Emery, he has came up through a successful franchise , not an egghead. Emery was a Bears chain guy, Ballard come from the same chain. Angelo.
-
I dont think anyone will give much of a draft pick because of his contract. Maybe a 4th if were lucky.
-
I wont object to any ELITE football player they draft at 7, its going to take 2 to 3 years to get us ready for a playoff run. The short term just doesnt matter, WE WILL NOT BE RELEVANT in 2015
-
A couple of media figures supposedly know someone in the Bears family that stated they are all done with him, just to much chaos that comes with him. The only reason I put some worth in the rumor, his contact started calling for heads rolling after the Green Bay game. He was ahead of all the fallout that was to become the situation which has occurred now. Personally I agree with money on here that let the new regime decide.
-
I have heard many mention that there sources state, Marshall wont be brought back next year, that they will have to eat 5.5 million and have no problem with doing that. I think he is a good football player but is too erratic personally that just keeps everything in chaos on a bad team.
-
After hearing everybody talk about Ballard on the Score today , he is sounding better to me, which I didnt want anybody that learned under Angelo. I think I would like it now to be the man.
-
kinda sounds like its a done deal, Ballard here , of which I dont like his ties to the Bears, seems to much like the same old crap. But I honestly think Toub will make a good HC if its a tag team special.
-
Your right, but its an unknown factor, we can get someone that has a track record and then decide how good he might be, we need to make less of a gamble, instead of an up and coming type, lets get someone who has done it before.
-
We need to let the new GM decide on the new coach and the new coach decide on Cutler. The fact is him being here might be our best option as we try to develop a new QB. Lets say you have a large nose, cutting it off doesnt improve it, just get it fixed.
-
I agree with you, we need to severe tying to the Bear connections. For the most part the Bears have not been good, so what keep the same connections going. Some that will put resistance up when doing business as usual , business has been bad.

During Del Rios successful years, Mike Smith was his coordinator, who was hired to coach Atlanta. He then hired Gregg Williams to coach his defense, as his recorded started to fail, Williams became the scape goat, Del Rio fired him, and thats when he hired Tucker, they were together for going into his 3rd year when Del Rio got the ax. He had only 4 years experience as an NFL coach when he was hired. I would say during his successful years he is more in line to hire Mike Smith as his defensive coach or Greg Williams instead of Tucker who was there when things fell apart.
-
I dont want a repeat of new,I want someone who has been an NFL head coach. Ryan falls in that category, Shanahan, Del Rio, also. Del Rio is my favorite to bring in.
-
From what Im reading there is elite QB prospects in the draft. I think we need at upgrade at so many positions we cant take a chance on a lackluster QB prospect. We are simply screwed at trying to draft or find a free agent at QB.
-
I agree, didnt look good, anyone seen Holliman/FS/Louisville play? He had 14 interceptions this year.
