Heard the Bears at least expressed interest in Decosta
Stinger226 replied to Chitownhustla's topic in Bearstalk
I read a statement where he stated" as along as Ted Phillips was here he wouldnt consider the Bears." He wants all power in any organization he goes to. -
I am starting to look at the draft and Collins would definity have the biggest impact, have been checking out MLBs and none have valve that early in the draft, but seen the top rated is Perryman-Miami. (they compare him to Bolander-SF) and that may be a 2nd round choice. I absolutely think we need a huge upgrade at LB with only Jones hanging around at SLB.

I am trying to do my homework on GM candidates since I have today off. Record since Ross has been involved the drafts 2014- 6-10 2013 7-9 2012 9-7 2011 9-7 won SB 2010 10-6 2009 8-8 2008 12-4 lost division title It the last 4 years of drafts only 2 players arent in the league anymore 19% are primary starters 40% are primary backups Notable picks: Beckhum-WR Richburg-OC Pugh- OT Randle----WR Wilson-----RB Amukamara-CB Pierre Paul-DE Joesph- DT Nicks-------WR Brown------RB Beatty-----OT Until I compare with other GM candidates, not sure it stands up, but to compare to ours, tons better with his choices. He is well respect and was with the team in the Super Bowl year. A lot of the Giants success and failure has been tied to Manning as is for most teams, without a great QB. From what I have read he was the main voice in the draft, and has hit 10 of 14 first two rounds of picks. One pick is David Wilson who has started some games. Beckham, Amukamara,Pierre Paul,Joesph,Nicks(until injuries hit), Randle, Richburg are all blue chip type picks. The point is he has much success over our standards over those same years.

I think he is the best choice of all candidates but he is the next GM for the Ravens so he aint going anywhere. IF he shows interest at all he is just lobbing for is a raise. -
We definitely need those position up grades but If there is a stud MLB in the draft at 7 that has valve at that spot, I am for finding a leader for our defense as we rebuild it. Havent check out the draft yet so am at a disadvantage with my opinion right now.

preliminary - sounds like the same ole same ole
Stinger226 replied to Lucky Luciano's topic in Bearstalk
His drafts were decent until after the Super Bowl year, Lovie got his big contract and the won the power struggle and started throwing his two cent in the draft and it went to hell. -
They stated how the process will work, but when someone asked the question, they through out an answer. It will be the GM first and then let him hire the coach and then let the coach hire his assistants.
-
The good teams have good OL s. One of the main reasons the offense sputtered was the OL was not very good this year. They need to bring back De La Peunte, and add another OT. Ola played LT this year, I would consider him at RT, Mills did not improve.
-
I want the rookies DTs back they showed enough to have some promise.
-
Lets say Harbaugh called them. He wants his guy as the GM, actually I heard a name I cant remember now he is aligned with. So they hire Harbaugh and his guy tags along.
-
Ernie has game and is in the room. They didnt hire him as a figure head, his advice will be taken, it is totally different. George has accepted responsibility and let the games begin.

It is totally different, they made the decision before and screwed it up, Ted is in the room but will absolutely have no say. George was just being nice. Virginia is "pissed off", guantite at 91 she doesnt want this jacked up again. Sure George is going to say he has final say, he didnt bring in Ernie for looks. He will be told who to hire then he will decide that is the right choice. Nothing like this has been done before, the franchise has been embarrassed the the last two years and shit hit the fan, no matter what it cost them. Its totally different , the back network has been pissed since the Green Bay game. They may not hire the right people but it wont be cause the PR firm got it wrong, George has accepted the responsibility going forward. It might look the same but not even close. -
Just kidding

ON such a happy day, I dont want to throw in the insane possibility he could be our next HC.
-
I dont think its really going to matter, this is a minimal 2 year if not 3 year fix. When we get some draft picks that matter and some of the big money free agents are done, then we can worry about the schedule. Let me repeat next year is a wash, nobody is going to come in here and work a miracle with this roster.
-
After he got his big contract he had to much power and helped screw up the draft after the super bowl year.
-
I guess as a GM but have final say on personal, let the coach hire his own assistants.
-
We need someone whoever it is that has a presence in the locker room, make people be responsible for there actions. A strong personality. Ditka like, but hopefully not as insane.
-
your right my bad
-
Hopefully Emery is gone, I prefer someone else making the picks.
-
I loved Ditka when he was here, but he has turned into a bubbling idiot. He supported Ray Rice, Peterson, and says some of the stupidous comments in football today.
-
I think we need to hire Shanahan as our chief, and have him hire a defensive minded coach. Bowles, Ryan or Del Rio would do me just fine.
-
Phillips can keep his job as an account but have no say so on hires. The reason I want Emery gone is not his drafts but him choosing Trestman over Airians, paying Cutler, Marshall, Allen. Those 3 are guaranteed 38.5 mil. for next year. He has made some franchise killing decisions for the next few years. He hit on a few draft picks but has more bad that good.
-
his leadership this year doesnt appear to have an effect on a lousy team. He needs to be gone, De La Puente is in place to take over, 5 years younger and already signed for next year.
