I heard they didnt want a bunch of different voices in Calebs ear. Joseph and Wadron were the only 2. Flus obvisously had some contact but took a minor role.
-
The only miracle this year was a Hail Mary(not ours). 4-4 would be considered a miracle at this point. CW is the secret sauce, if he starts playing well, we may be surprised at the number of wins. Always the positive thinker.

That is the way it should be, Im saying the Bears arent going to do that. Poles will be remembered for the great trade and drafting Caleb Williams, not because he screwed up sighing Davis. Talking about all of the regime being fired together, do you think that makes the case for Poles to keep him and ride it out instead of firing him? I would rather have a lameduck GM than keeping Flus.

He has 8 games to get something going. It beats leaving Waldrom running the show.

Year 3 of 5 year rebuild: Poles retains Flus ( who was still under contract) because he went 5-3 at the end of the season. He had the defense humming and the lousy offense got blamed on Getsy. Poles drafts Caleb-Odunze-(TRADED 2ND ROUND FOR SWEAT)- 3rd round T( coimg off an injury that would have went in 2)-Blue chip punter-future edge. Brings in Shelton-Bates-Allen-Everret-Swift- Pryor. Davis blows up, Borom-Bates-Kiran all not able to start the season. Jenkins proves he cant stay healthy and Wright and Jones get hurt. Bad spot for any team let alone the Bears. Waldron proves he isnt a good coach, reflects back on Flus for Judgement. Caleb struggles add in the OL chaos and bad coaching, we are 4-5. Now we have questions about Poles over allowing this coaching chaos to happen and mistakes on the OL/ Poles will not lose his job, he will get a 4th yr to correct the course. Need a new coach, and assets on the OL and DL. He has money and picks to make that happen.

Sunday will go along way from burning the year down or giving us some hope. I still think the main focus should be developing CW. If they slow it down and focus on running the ball, Caleb will look better and show greatness one in awhile. I doubt it will happen but I'm not good at prediciting the future. The 1st 4 picks need to be OL-DL-OL-DL Sigh Trey Smith/OG and move Kiran A. to LG. Bates starts at C and draft one.

With the train wreak we just experenced, this season still has 8 games left. We eliminated 2 problems so lets see the effect. We still have a good defense, high level weapons and a potenial franchise QB. This is not the time to give up hope. Flus is showing he is a problem with his hires, he will be gone at year's end. Stromberg has an upside if he can avoid injuries. As AZ said, Bates played well for his first action. Now if we can get back our OTs, our OL can be better. Brown could be an upgrade on simple fact he may focus on run game which limits QB mistakes by a rookie. Waldron gave to much responsiblity to Caleb that clearly didnt have good results. Calm the offense down , control the time and let the defense force Love into some mistakes, we may have a shot.

That is how losers think, I agree . Iast yr we were 2-7, this year 4-5 with 8 games left. The most important function is to develop CW. Last yr with a worsr team we finished 5-3 aganist a schedule that included GB, Detroit-twice Minny. We are not going into next year with a 11 game losing streak. Depending on injuries we still have a shot at going 4-4 which would be more wins that last yr. If CW does actually develop, that is doable. We changed one problem, so lets see what happens.

The only way Flus survives is if he's 6-2, odds of that are near impossible. You have to hope Poles makes the right choice because he's not leaving no matter what the team does this year. If you're your thinking of a Harbaugh type hire, that wont happen but maybe a Gruden, someone that got kicked out of the winners circle for an email.

With our 1st pick, I want them to take a LT, many start in their rookie yr. Move Jones to swing T and move Kiran to LG. We check out Bates for the rest of the yr. Still draft a OC and sit as a backup until he's ready to go. Draft a player than can play all 3 IOL and sign Trey Smith starting right G for KC. KC has cap issues coming and wont be able to bid on him. 3 rookies starting on the line could be a diaster. LT rookie- Jones as backup LG Kiran A.- rookie as back up. OC Bates - rookie as back up- sign Shelton for depth ( he can play all IOL) RG- Trey Smith- rookie as back up- Shelton for depth here RT- Wright- Jones as back up-rookie You have a mix of vets and rookies Kiran in his second should start to show his value and Wright in his 3d yr should dominate.

Of course they will, even thou teams are running on us, other than AZ, the defense isnt giving up a lot of points. I kinda like the track record of Brown , he was in LA and McVay thought enough about him to make him AS HC to not lose him. I think he was there 4 yrs. In Carolina, he became the Panthers play callers the last 6 games. He interviewed for the HC job in Tenn. We may have a diamond in the rough and he might be good at it, future HC?
-
They havent posted the Wanny interview yet. Here is another that says good and bad about the Bears offense
-
It was the Score talking to Olin Kreutz and later in the day with Dave Wannsted. Here is a video that explains some of the problems in the game.

We wont know the effect of the change for a few games, but at least they are admitting, its jacked up. From what I hear, part of the problem Waldron was giving to much responsability to Caleb, allowing he to change plays and call line adjustments. You cant give him 4 options every play , he keeps trying to go downfield to much with a bad line. Keys: run the ball-30 times 2 TE sets to help with blocking / RPOs Only give him 2 WR options dump offs to TEs, leave back in to block. Roll outs and designed runs
-
Does anyone like Gruden as a new HC option?
-
I think we just need a fresh prespective changing what we do.Morton came from Seattle with Waldron, at least Brown was not in that clan. Morton has never called plays, Brown at least has experience and being from Carolina, knows what doesnt work. I went to look up Browns history and he is not listed on the Bears website listing coaches. We keep talking about everything coaches fault but if players exicute better the play calling would look better. When Caleb misses a WR on a throw, its not the play callers fault. When a OL misses a block, it blows the whole play up. When you run the same play call 10 times in a game, that's a pay caller screw up.
-
It seems the Hail Mary and chatter after the game forged Flus losing the team. Compound that with bad play calling, injured offensive line, we have bad QB play. I expect to see progressive but where is it coming to change the tide? Obviously the OL getting healthy would help, change of play caller and a simplier game plan for CW. I would say maybe 3 or 4 plays during the game to the deep zone, and the rest on 2.5 second drops, the 3 to 4 second drops have to go. AND RUN THE BALL
-
I was dumb enough to think we could have won 12 games, the truth is even thou we expected better because of getting a generational type QB, in truth he is a rookie with a learning curve. Everyone knows the OL and DL arent finished yet. Are we one year away from getting results for high expectations? No way we are going on a 11 game losing streak. We need a play caller that commits to runnibg and simply what Caleb has on his plate. The D is a couple players coming back from injury away from being good again.
-
I dont think Caleb and DJ are on the same page, doubt if its personal, Caleb misses him at a 44% rate. From what I hear, Caleb does a lot of play calling in no huddle and is blowing off runs for passes. He was told to throw to Cole and did 3 times in a row and blow him off the rest of the game. They have given him to much power for a rookie still trying to learn the NFL. I believe tomorrow morning Waldron will be demoted or fired. ( Tom Brown) Flus will turn over DC play calling duties to Williams to address his job better as HC. There is no fix for the OL until people get healthy. Jones- Jenkins?-Shelton-Pryor-Wright is okay. Bates is main backup at all 3 IOL positions. Kiran will be swing T.
-
Actually the best we have ever had. Ditka did get us a SB but lots of baggage with him. should have won 3 with that team.
-
Having been in a depressed state for 40 yrs? minus our SB appearance and 2018. The only way to be sane is to change teams, Im not doing that but it appears many of you are disgusted enough to think about it. I have always kind of liked Denver -like the state-cool uniforms-they have a great coach? I have always admired Pitt, great coach-kind of the mind set similar to Bears. Pick a winner- just be a KC or Philly fan
