I will try to watch that, Im a plumber, valve comes into play much more that value in my life and I dont proof read my threads all the time.

I dont agree with a lot of things he says but he is not clueless. He was talking about how bad the Bears WRs were two years before anyone else was saying it. He doenst like Donald because he is small. If he is a stud pass rusher, no one will care if he is lacking in run defense. The valve thing is stupid because he assessment on valve is compromised because of draft guides he was pushing. He thought Long was a huge reach he has since recanted but that shows you all valuations has flaws. We dont draft a OT because one of the top 3 dropped to us. We are not in need at that position and there has to be stud D player on the board of equal valve . TE is the one position where if we grabbed Ebron, I wouldnt be complaining. He is a stud and adding another weapon to our offense could only make good things happen. BUT Im not pining for that. I all in on one of these 3 Donald,Pryor, and Haha. I have a secret wish to draft Mosley but that is because I have been spoiled with the likes of Butkus,Urlacher and the many of other stout MLBs we have had along the way. I cant see me being un happy with our pick at 14 any way he goes, but then Im easy. Most of you arent.

I think the first two will be instant starters but the next two Ward and Bucannon are question marks as starters there first year. The rest of the class is way back.

I think if our roster was done as of today, where would our weaknesses be? Offensively-I think the Bears are ok with Palmer as our backup QB-I trust Trestmans judgement. IMPORTANCE-LOW We definitely need a another RB and TE prospect to add to our depth. Those can all be obtained after the 3rd round. IMPORTANCE-RB-high----TE-medium. Defensively- We have a our starters back at CB but little depth. Definitely a need but can be gotten in the first 4 rounds. IMPORTANCE-medium At S I think the only quality starter among us is Mundy. Conte may be able to get back in the picture but that is a big ? mark. They jumped on Mundy right out of the blocks in FAgency and I think they judge him as an upgrade over Wright. They have to address this position early. 1st or 2nd. IMPORTANCE- high At LB we have starters two positions with a big question mark at SLB but have some bodies to throw there. I think Williams is a injury waiting to happen and deem a must address spot. IMPORTANCE- high At DE we added several FAs and have no need to even go there. At DT we have two starters back. Ratliff and Paea but depth is lacking. Collins is well liked by the Bears and Houston and Idonije can play the 3 T spot, so I think we add possibly two prospects here. IMPORTANCE-high So our first 4 rounds will be S-DT-LB-CB. not necessarily in that order.

Almost every thread refers to this years draft, so my last thoughts on what's going to happen. DT and S are our two most pressings needs. We wont be drafting a QB. Emery stated QBs drafted after the 3 rd dont stay on NFL rosters very long. There is a few exceptions to this rule but since our first two picks wont be a QB , we simply wont be grabbing one. Emery will address the depth at RB and TE and dont discount a OL prospect somewhere at the end of the draft. At the first pick, he will take the best D player on the board. Whether that be Gilbert,Donald,Haha or Mosely. I have no problem with any of those names. If we trade back, Dennard,Pryor,Fuller, Hageman,Truitt, Nix all come into play. I think our surprise pick will be Mosely because everybody thinks this isnt a need, but if he is the best D player on the board,it could happen. Nix could also be a surprise pick. IF he didnt have his injury he would be rated a top 10 valve in this years draft. S position is weak after the first two picks. CB is deep and could see us waiting until the 3rd or 4th round with that spot. After Donald (and I believe he will be gone) there are several 3 tier Ts to consider, Quarles,Easley,Hageman,Truitt,Johnson,Reid. We could wait until the 3rd or 4th round to address this need.

That is very possible. 3 OTs-1-QB-2WRs-1TE thats 7 offensive players. Now with the 7 picks left you have Clownery-Mack-Barr that leaves the next best defensive players as Gilbert,Donald,HaHa, and Mosely. Pryor is the only one that could be left on the board, and some like him better than Haha. Do not be surprised if we see names like Fuller,Hageman,Truitt,Nix get taken higher than there valve spot dictated to them. I dont think there is anyway we can screw up our first round pick. I would be happy with any of those names mentioned above. We have to find a S starter in this draft,DT depth,CB depth and a MLB prospect. Ideal picks-Donald,Pryor,HaHa,Gilbert----valve picks at 14 I would have no problem if we draft Mosely as he is a top 10 talent and love all pro MLBs on my Bear team which he will be. A team leader would add a lot to stability to our defense.

Aikens is an interesting prospect. He was an all big 10 rookie CB at Illinois and got kicked out of school and ended up at Liberty to continue his college career. A major college recuit, who fell off the radar. Definitely someone to keep an eye on. That would be a excellent draft for us. Grice,Lyerla,Desir, all names to pay attention too.
-
What were all doing is addressing needs of the teams were picking for, after the first round, its a crapshoot for GMs and we arent any different.
-
I like this article and the names it uses for potential players we may pick and where. http://chicago.cbslocal.com/2014/05/01/dur...round-by-round/

Mosely will be a all pro type LBer and would have no problem with him on our team. When Donald.,Haha,Pryor and Gilbert are gone, he is the next best Defensive player on the board.
-
What if Donald,Gilbert,Pryor,HaHa are all gone? I think the possibility exists that there is not the run on QBs that some are predicting so that will pull stud D players we all cherish. If those 4 are gone I think the next best defensive players would be Mosely, Dennard. I would not object to those picks. Fuller, Ward, Hageman, and Truitt are a bit of a reach at 14, but I think all will be good players. Hageman seems to be the risky player of all those names. Didnt have production to back up physical numbers. I would prefer Fuller to Dennard, seems to be more instinctive to me. I think we probably trade back some spots and grab Mosely, Fuller, Ward, or Truitt. So that is my call on the upcoming event.

"I will be mad if the Bears take/don't take . . . "

I will be mad if we dont take the BPA at a defensive need. Pryor,HaHa,Donald,Gilbert,Mosely are all valve picks at 14 and wont have any problem with any of them. Hageman, Truitt are rated as more of later in the first round picks. If we trade back and grab one of them or a Kyle Fuller, Im good with all that. -
At 78 Dallas selects Will Clarke/DE, a little reach but has upside
-
With the 71st pick Cleveland takes Carlos Hyde/ RB- THE Ohio State u
-
With the 68th pick, Atlanta takes Kareem Martin/DE---the need to upgrade the passrush.... Who's next
-
I watched 3 games of Borland, he didnt stand out for me. Im changing my position on him. I think I would rather see a more athletic player for that spot Zumwalt or a Bullough. Mosely is the best MLB in the draft.

Briggs needs to be healthy for us to be legitimate on defense. His health has been brought up before. Actually the shoulder not being up to par came from his mouth in an interview. As you stated before, he was cleared to play and play like dog shit he did. There is plenty of time for him to get where he needs to be but it does raise the question of when he falls off the ladder, physically. He is at that age where it can be overnight. With all we have added to the defense so far, LB doesnt have much depth. With Williams injury history and poor play of the rookies, Briggs needs to be playing for a new contract, and I hope he is what he use to be. Our first two picks need to be S and DT in any order. S is a weaker position so Im up for Pryor. I honestly dont think Donald will be there, you have the Giants, Dallas moving up, and dont put it past Lovie to grab Donald. If the QBs dont get a run on early, we are talking about Gilbert,Donald and HaHa being gone. There is no other DT worthy of 14, if we trade back, Hageman, Truitt come into play. I dont see Jerringan as a viable valve at 14. I think we end up trading back and grab, hopefully Pryor,or a Ward, possibly Bucannon late in the round. I think by the time 51 gets there the only 4 potential starters at S will be gone. You like the 5-8 safety, but I dont think he is a starter. The only other way we may go for a starting S is grab a CB/S like McGill,Exum or a Huff that could be a later round surprise that could play there.

I dont think Emery is broadcasting to the NFL what he's doing in the draft. I like all the names, but Donald and Quarles would play the same position, so if he got another DT, I think it would be a NT type.(Justin Ellis)?
-
With the 63rd pick Denver takes Jordan Zumwatt/ lb----- they shore up the middle of there defense.

Every year there are (football players) that dont get there accolades because of the premium people put on the athletic traits of a player. There's many more examples where the (football player) has made it in the NFL instead of the stud athletic. We do need to add a MLB to the mix. Williams can fill the position but hasnt been a full time starter since 2011 due to injuries and suspensions.Lets say Briggs is still hurt and cant start. Can we feel good if Bostic, Williams and SCM are our starters on day 1 one of the season? S and then DT are our major needs, but dont discount our need at LB. If the surprise pic that Emery delivers to us this year is Mosely with our first pick, it will not be received well by this group.I will have no problem with that pic. I think he will be a tackle machine for years to come, and once the rest of you see him play for a year, there will be tons of fans on this site. I think we need to go S first for the sake of a weak class, and as Emery stated he wants to draft a starter with that first pick. A CB as a high pick wont start day one unless there is injury. DT will be a rotational guy, Safety almost is a guarantee, but a MLB could fill that spot. Borland would be a sneaky good pick in the 3rd or 4th round, but Mosely is the only bonified starter we could draft and that could be the first day.

The Colts have some weak spots on the offensive line they need to address. So The Indy Colts pick -----Travis Swanson/OC---they need to upgrade their center position as a 4th round rookie played the position last year. Carolina(Adam) is on the clock.
-
Today at his news conference Emery talked about he was comfortable with 6 players to take with his 14th pick. so here is my list, I think he has Donald- no brainer, but the best DT in the draft probably wont be there at 14-history tells us that HaHa and Pryor are two high rated Ss that fill a need Gilbert and I believe Fuller are the CBs that is on his list. I think Fuller instead of Dennard because he is closer of a Tillman like CB. And the last is C.J. Mosely-He is a high rated LB that I think Emery will consider taking with our 14th pick. I personally think we will trade back and get a couple of extra picks So my later in the draft list: Fuller Pryor Ward Hageman Truitt So its your turn
-
The one out of that group that has any shot of being a starter, would be Exum. His injury took him down but is a sneaky pick to succeed.
-
You could live with it, everything with you is predicated on Donald. Chances of him being there are pretty slim. So I guess you will turn off the draft if he aint there.
