  1. I think 3 is to high to take Howard, but am trying to asset what the Bears think. Barrett will probably play OLB at the next level but is considered a premier pass rusher, of which we will value.
  2. Depending on how the draft goes, some of the players on the roster will not be here when the dust settles.
  3. I like the value at #3 is to picking all pro pass rushers, perenial LTs or QBs. No LTs or QBs in this group merit that. Pass rushers would be 1A , Solomon Thomas and !B would be J. Allen. The problem is Allen has a slight health question. So if we do not have a shot at Thomas, then pick the BPA on the board who will end up being an all pro. That is screaming Jamal Adams.
  4. There throwing darts at the board and hope something sticks.
  5. Im thinking Ed Reed.
  6. Adams is a physical, instinctive , born leader. Something this defense needs to put it over the top. The type of players that makes everyone better. He also was stated that he run bewteen a 4.3. to 4.4 at his pro day. The speed factor should boost his stock.
  7. No one knows how the Bears view the top players, there are so many so called draft experts that it can be confusing to actually figure out the actual value. If we go by Paces own words , we have to assume he goes with BPA. top ten big board: 1- Myles Garrett-no brainier here 2-Soloman Thomas- has been moving up and would be our Justin Smith if we could get him 3-Johnathan Allen- He was considered the consensus #2 going into the Combine but even with the concern over future arthritic shoulders, he will not slip much 4-Jamal Adams- a future all pro 5-Marshon Lattimore- the highest rated CB in the draft 6-Malik Hooker- He would be towards the top if not for off season surgrey, but upside is potentially the best play maker in draft. 7-O J Howard- He is a future all pro and a potential surprise pick at #3 8- Ruben Foster- As much as not a need, i think he is rated to high to pass on depending how the board works out 9- Mike Williams-Could be a futre A J Green type of player 10- Derek Barrett- do not under estimate the value of the pass rush Okay its your turn
  8. He is a highlight reel of Jamal Adams, you will be impressed.
  9. Because we have the numbers at safety with the hope some develop, grab one in the 3rd that is a SS. Other than two, most on our team are FS types. This is a deep class in safeties so grabbing one in third would be like taking a second rounder in most years. Grab a DL in the first Grab a OT in the second and then fill in with prospects in the other rounds.(provided they are valued picks)
  10. I would like to see the draft looks like that grabs those high scores. 10. Centro Bears 17764 4/3/2017 This is the highest Bears score I have seen. I would like to see how they rate players and the Bears needs they list, to be able to get that high of a score.
  11. I think with all those safeties , which one are difference makers? Most are FS types, I would say Amos and Bush are the SS so I think we may add one but probably not early. Since we have more upside in that position I think that tells us it will be a DL or CB. I think we expect quite a bit of upside to Cooper but Prince is only a stab at the position. With the upside of Bullard, it may say we are grabbing a CB with the first spot. On the long shot side, OJ Howard could be an all pro type TE that would aide in our running game and be a outstanding option in the passing game.
  12. In two years there would be 11 starters out of that group.

I have seen where Carolina may want to move ahead of the Jags to get Fournette, which may be good for us. They have two second rounders and two 6th rounders. So would you trade down 6 spots and get 8, they would have to throw in #40 pick-#98 and #147 to work out on the trade value chart. players that should be there at 8 will be O.J. Howard, Lattimore, Hooker,Ruben Foster players that are valued around # 40 are Cris Wromley/5T-Budda Baker/SS-TreD White/CB and Mahomes players that are valued around #98 are Rasul Douglas/CB-Demarcus Walker/5T-Brad Kaaya/QB and Taywan Taylor/WR players that are valued around #147 are Michael Roberts/TE-Peterman/QB-Corn Elder/CB-Josh Reynolds/WR and Ryan Glasglow/5T so would you make that trade?
  14. I forgot where but have seen Allen compared to Fletcher Cox Adams compared to Darren Woodson Thomas to Justin Smith Hooker to Reggie Nelson Howard to Julius Thomas Lattimore to Vontae Davis It was on the NFL.Com draft tracker post That should cover who we may be drafting, if they turn out to be those players I would say it would be between Adams and Thomas.
  15. I would say add Allen to that list and will definitely be from that group.
  16. If you just draft the BPA and not worry about what side of the ball, then that will make us better. The top players are Ds so the first pick should be D. Thomas or Allen In the second if one of the top 3 OTs drop we must consider it, if not Baker should be that, or Oli M. Say Robinson/OT drops In the third grab Justin Evans or Markus Williams In the fourth we have two so look for a QB prospect and a CB Peterman and Howard Wilson In the fifth you take a TE prospect Kittle or Sprinkle In the 7th take a edge rusher Jimmie Gilbert/Colo
  17. Personally I would take Thomas over Allen but my point is , he is still a top 5 rated player in the draft. If the shoulder issues had been more damaging then I would agree with you on him dropping in his rating, but most view that as not a problem going forward. I think Thomas has more upside as far as being a pass rusher. I think Allen can be a 10 sack guy a year where Thomas has the potential to be a 15 sack guy a year. Allen can be a dominate 5T of which we have not added during the off season. We have Floyd and McPhee(when healthy) that play the OLB spot . So although Thomas can play the 5T spot, I think he will be used all over the field by Fangio much like Justin Smith was used in SF. Thomas may go at #2 so that would leave us with the choice of Allen or Adams. http://www.ourlads.com/top-32-college-seni...ft/2017/3063425
  18. Hey there, if you have time listen to this podcast that discusses who would be a better pick between Thomas and Allen. otim_newsfeed&spot_im_combearswire.usatoday.com/2017/03/28/solomon-thomas-or-jonathan-allen-who-is-better-for-the-bears/?spotim_referrer=newsfeed&utm_source=spotim&utm_medium=spment_id=sp_mR8DcUXj_401058_c_u74qkR The link didnt load , it is on Bearswire where you can find it.
  19. I think that means we mainly draft D players but we still need a upgrade at the OTs spots to help that philosophy. Also a TE like Howard would add to the blocking and be a major asset in the passing game.
  20. There are many so called draft experts but the ones I pay attention to are the former scouts. I have not seen any of them drop him out of the top 5.
  21. Allen, Adams and Thomas are all consistent top 5 players so all of them are in play as BPA. Even though we need to upgrade the QB position, there is a 90% chance we do not grab a QB with the third pick. There are not even graded as top 15 players in the draft let alone 3rd. Foster is a stud, but no way in hell we take him at 3.
  22. I think their are 4 OTs this year that wont be all pros but can be long time starters. Robinson or Bolles could be available in the second and would at least could start day one at the RT spot. They already tried to upgrade that spot with going after Wagner.
  23. Since we do not know Paces evaluation of the current roster, where do we go with the pick considering the talent on the team at this time. At QB- Glennon starts and could be the long range answer but no one has the answer to that question right now. I think him and Sanchez being added guarantees we dont go there in the first. At WR- Will Ashton gone now, it leaves us banking on White as being the player we drafted but still a big question mark. With adding Wright and Wheaton, I see us not going with a WR in the first. At TE- we added a blocking TE with catching upside, Miller will get less playing time and should help him stay healthier. I think they like Brown and Baunnecker enough to not pick Howard at this pick. (spoiler alert) At OT- we have a need to upgrade and all Compton is just a backup. No one is rated high enough in this draft to take at this spot, but if we would move down, could be possible. DL- we definitely have a need and only added a NT player in FAgency. Bullard was a high pick last year that will probably take a step in the second year but still is a strong possibility we grab Allen at this spot. Adding a all pro type 10 sack a year guy to your front seven seems like a good idea. Edge rusher- We need Floyd to improve and McPhee to stay healthy. If that happens with Houston and Young still here we are in good shape here but do not underestimate us grabbing Thomas if available that can help the DL plus be an edge rusher. Would be a great pick for the front seven. CB- Grabbing Cooper could be a sneaking good signing but Prince is only on a one year deal. We could very well use a stud CB even with the large group of DBs we have none are a true #1. STRONG POSSIBLITY S- With Demps we have a temporary starter but do not view him long term. Amos played Ok but is not a star. Bush has yet to show anything but with Hall and Fuller being moved to S, I can see use not viewing this as as great a need. Adams will be there and not only being better than anyone on our roster, a great leader , we could very well be calling his name at #3. Even if Hall or Fuller pans out at FS , Amos is who Adams would be replacing. Summary: Our greatest needs , in my opinion, are LT-CB-DL-SS. Who at #3 would have the greatest impact on our team going forward. Allen compares to Sheldon Richardson by several draft sites. Adams compares to Eric Weddle by a few sites. There are no all pro type LTs in this draft, so definitely see us not taking one that early. Thomas is more of a Justin Smith that would have a great impact on our defense. Lattimore has been compared to Vontae Davis by one expert. Since the draft is deep in CBs and Ss, I can see us deciding between Allen and Thomas. I would say Thomas, but if he is gone it will be Allen. One that makes a lot of sense would be Adams, but we could get a 10 starter in the second round in this draft. Spoiler Alert----Since we are going to add a playmaker at #3, one of the better impact players in this draft is O J Howard. With our WRs having some doubts grabbing a all pro type TE that can block(helps our running game) and catch 65 balls for almost a 1000 yards with 10 TDs , do not over look this as a possibility.
  24. getting a stud in the third even though he may not play this year is golden. He may go before that. I do not see us moving up in any scenario, we just have to many needs and not enough picks.

I agree that at BPA your scenario would work just fine.
