  1. great for a distraction. quite exciting tv.
  2. Did you get to watch the game last nite?
  3. Totally agree with that. I would like him to do well, just have some doubts but we have Mills in the pipeline so future looks brighter no matter what.
  4. I think any information can be useful, it is more about who is dissecting it more than who is giving it.
  5. Im kinda sorry I didnt jump in on this debate, all my favorite master debaters are involved in this one.
  6. hopefully you have a DVR to record them. That are quite exhilarating.
  7. I think there always competition for every job, but there is expectations for the RT position to be Webb's. Maybe it is just a way to boost his confidence. If he looks bad, it wont be his job. They set up people behind him to fall back on. There is no competition for Cutlers job,Marshall, ect. But if they fail we just dont have anyone to take there place, but with marginial players they have people in place. They welcomed Carmi back to camp and then traded him, everything can not be taken directly, kinda of have to look at the situation for each player.
  8. I believe I mentioned when he was born, he would one day be a TE, so that makes me first.(just kidding)
  9. I think Melton is good as a pass rusher but leaves something to be desired as a run stopper. I made mystatement on the fact I think Ellis can be more of a complete DT.
  10. I think we are replacing our depth with players that fit Kromer's type, since our O-line was so bad, I have no problem having changes everywhere.
  11. Upgrading positions is not exactly cleaning house, it is just the evolution of a team getting better.
  12. Bingo, I think the possibility exists for that to happen. It will only happen if Garza get hurt, but that could be a blessing in disguise. Although I think zone blocking will help Garza look better.
  13. There were no trumpets or bright lights welcoming the seventh pick of the 2008 draft when he unassumingly walked out to minicamp practice wearing a gray, long-sleeved T-shirt Wednesday. The expectations for Sedrick Ellis with the Bears are not what they were with the Saints. But even after five somewhat disappointing seasons in New Orleans, Ellis' promise has not yet reached the end of its shelf life. Dan Pompei Dan Pompei. The reason for the hope is Ellis fits the Bears defense the way your charger fits your cell phone. "They allow their guys to do what defensive linemen are supposed to do, and that's rush the passer and get sacks and put pressure on the quarterback while playing the run on the way," he said. "I haven't had the chance to do that the last couple of years, so I'm excited about that." In his first three seasons with the Saints, Ellis progressed and produced at a modest pace. In 2010, he had three sacks in his first three games, and he generated some early Pro Bowl buzz. He finished with just six. The Saints defense changed in 2011 from an upfield scheme to more of a read-and-react, two-gap scheme, and Ellis didn't change enough with it. Instead of a penetrator, Ellis was expected to be a stuffer. He put on weight, getting up to about 320 pounds. At USC, Ellis is a bit of a legend because he was so strong the school had to purchase 200-pound dumbbells for him to do incline presses. But he never played with that kind of strength. Ellis, who scouts say always relied on quickness and tended to play high, struggled with the Saints' new assignments. His athleticism — which was his best attribute — was minimized. The situation discouraged him. "(Those) schemes didn't quite suit my talents and that showed in production," he said. Ellis now carries 310 pounds on his 6-foot, 1-inch frame and plans to drop another 10 pounds or so before training camp. "He can excel in a penetrating, up-the-field, attacking defense," Bears defensive coordinator Mel Tucker said. With the Bears, Ellis probably will be one of the wave tackles coming off the bench behind starters Henry Melton and Stephen Paea. After the offseason losses of Israel Idonije, Matt Toeaina and Amobi Okoye, the team was lacking depth at the position. So Ellis is a welcome addition. He will need to play both three technique and nose tackle, but the Bears were attracted to him because of his ability to rush the passer as a three technique. If he can do that well, Ellis will spend most of his time at that position. As a result, Ellis said he is "almost guaranteeing" his production will spike. "A lot of times in the NFL it's not only about how talented you are, but the scheme you play in, the coaches you have, things like that," he said. "It all plays together. Players have to match coaches and schemes." Motivation should not be an issue for Ellis. He is on a one-year contract, so if he wants another chance at big money, he will have to earn it. He was passed over during the free-spending phase of free agency, and lasted on the market for nearly three months. And his contract is believed to be worth only a little more than the NFL minimum. None of that means Ellis can't have significant value to the Bears though. "It's the right place and right time for him," Tucker said I ACTUALLY THINK THIS SIGNING COULD BE AS SIGNIFICANT AS BENNETT AND BUSHROD WAS.I think he will excel in our scheme and end up being my best DT.
  14. Even if the defense doesnt have similar numbers as last year, I think it will be better because of the injection of youth going forward. It will be more aggressive and problems have more points scored against it but with an offense that will but putting up more points, I think it will not have much change in record.
  15. We both know the OLine sucked every since Cutler has been here, so rebuilding that is not change for sake of change.
  16. Now this is the epitaph of a slow period.
  17. This is a bad time of the year for me,as far as the Bears go, BUT they keep making moves that has keep my interest somewhat. We will look back as this year as a GOOD new beginning or a bunch of bad decisions. New coach New OL and OC No Urlacher New blood at LB Almost a new OL Some more weapons,a quality TE He is tweaking the roster big time New offensive scheme(again) Conclusion: We have rebuilt the OL(long overdue), got some new minds to actually give us a modern NFL offense, and continually remaking the roster. I think how this turns out will take more than a year to do a proper evaluation. I think the most important thing going forward is how well Trestman and Cutler get on the same page. We have a team that is close to making the playoffs, but if it doesnt work out with Cutler, it will all turn to shit. He is the key to how successful we do this year. He is at the end of his contract, so I think he will be motivated to succeed and Trestman will turn out to be a good NFL head coach. Points, we now have some more weapons to spread the offense around. Jeffery will start to excel, Bennett signing will be huge, and Forte will have a huge year. I think the OL will be a work in progress but will get better as the year goes on, and we slip into the playoffs with a 10-6 record. WHAT SAY YOU
  18. We have lot of questionable players for character on the team, I dont think that has anything to do with it. I think the fact they told him to cool it after the DUI and was out partying two days later, it just comes down to a control thing. He just wasnt making enough of an effort to stay clean, so they told him to (freak off). Just a power thing.
  19. I think although we are essentially playing the same defense, there will be some tweaks along the way. Kinda of hard to evaluate there moves until we see the NEW old defense. He is basically the same size as Paea and has experience so I think he will able to play either spot for us.
  20. So when do you start playing Rugby? Have no idea what kind of schedule that sport has. How is PFF going? Is that going ok for you? Glad to see you have a sense of humor, sometime that is in question.
  21. I dont think what we do on defense on any barring on letting Urlacher walk, his time had come. The fact everyone else in the league thinks that too speaks volumes. If he had signed for the 2 mil, we would be at the end of the season, saying that we should have moved on because he cant stay on the field due to a bad body. I think he would have been a liability for the defense this year, and he did us a favor by being stubborn. We hung on to Cris Williams to long, it didnt matter that he was a first round pick, because he wasnt any good. What I like about Emery is he has a plan, and is following it and will live or die with it. I have no problem with that at all. He isnt making popular decisions based on the fans, he is doing what he think is right.
  22. I think they did the evaluation and that is why they made those choices. Your right about our RTs but I think they must like Mills, so they are taking chances going forward with him as to someone who doesnt want to be here. This all could be mistakes they are making, but we dont know that yet. It is choices they are making and they will keep or lose there jobs as these choices come to fruition. He wasnt the new decision makers first round pick ,they dont have emotional ties as we do. They have change the blocking schemes, and I dont think he fits into that mold that they are looking for, so he isnt here.
