Just so everybody knows someone else came up with that idea, I just posted it. I dont think he has it anymore, and I suppose we wont know until training camp if that is true. I was just showing options of a trade, a cut , or keep him if he's still good. I just dont see us keeping a roster spot for a player that just returns kicks, and there is the issue of his pay check.
-
I think if traded for him, they would force him to redo his contract. I dont think he has it anymore, and think the Bears are keeping him around for a trade option. We would save 2mil if we cut him and would create 833,000 in dead cap space. I just dont think we have the luxury of keeping strictly a KR-PR with that paycheck. Also you have 4 special teams spots that do nothing but kick, punt LS, and KR. I dont see us having him around.
-
He is not a WR anymore.
-
I was just being sarcastic.

I think we win the Saints game, they have never won here, and lose one of the Viking or Rams game on road. Otherwise right with you on your overview.

I dont mind the sunday nite games, but I hate monday and thursday nites. It just almost always doesnt go well for us.

Listening to the Score this morning Mully brought up an interesting point. Why is Hester still on the roster? Only a returner paying 2.8 mil, if you trade him you dont have 833,000 in dead cap space. Bragging him up and offering him on draft day for a 5th or 6th rounder? Makes a lot of sense to me. I see a good team taking a flyer on him to put them over the top. He has not been good for the last 1 and 1/2 years but teams still treated him as such by altering there kickoffs. I see that as a possibility.

Good comparision.

I like most of the names. Bailey was highly productive but I think he was a product of the system, not very fast. I dont think Dysert lasts that long. But like the first two picks.
-
Vernon Davis is 6'3 and Hernandez is 6'1, I think they do ok not being tall.
-
You could take him in the first and still add a OLine in the second, and a OC later. We can fix the OL and add Austin, It isnt my first choice but I would have no problem at all.
-
Brady gets counted in the skill players also.
-
When Trestman went to Canada his team went from worst in the league is sacks to 3rd best. His shceme will help his QB as long as the improvements we have made and still to make on the OLne.

I think we are probably on the same wave length, it is just sometimes you come across as ego tripper, saying you could do a better job. In a lot of situations, you might have made a better choice, but it all gets lost in transition. A draft choice a person made 3 years ago that failed, caused you to sign Peppers, a good player but played a ton of money. It is a snow ball effect, on one year to the next with all the decisions a GM makes. All of there choices are on record. I dont have the time or interest to go back and look at your opinion on something from a few years ago, so things get lost. It is just easier to criticize sitting in front of a computer than sitting in one of there chairs. I have never claimed there all brainiacs, just that you cant really compare our view to theirs. On here we all batter our opinions on who's smarter or made a better point, I think I could of did a better job than JA did, but if my job was at stake things might have been different. It is just kind of a mute point.

There is definite risk there, but he is going to be so good. He has not missed anytime in college over injuries and injuries can happen to anybody. You just have to roll the dice and see what you get.
-
I wouldnt bitch and complain if that happened, there is some logic to your argument, but like you said we dont know what Trestman wants to do, so he will get what his thinks he needs, whether that be another TE or a speedy WR. We simply dont know what he wants. He is a composite of eveything he has experenced, so we can say he is a WCO coach but may be many different schemes mixed together.

There are a lot of people on here that make informed and good judgement calls on different scenarios, and even include you in that group, but usually doing it from hindsight to say( look what I said). I could say I like 10 LBers in the draft and then two years later after the fact 4 of then turned out good, I could say how smart I was. Giving opinions and doing it for a job are way different. You get rid of Urlacher and get condemned and praised for it and then Urlacher never plays again so you say,( he would have did good if!) None of that matters. Gms get fired every year, bad ones make good decisions and good one make bad decisions. Timing is everything. For you to compare your suggestions over Jerry Angelos decisions since he was here, my grandchild could have drafted better. He was bad, everybody on here might have did a better job. When you make decisions that affects whether you staying working or whether you get fired, can not be compared to bloggers opinions. Its like having a Giraffe screw a rabbit, it just doesnt work. To say your the smartest one on here, I could live with that egoism, but your mixing apples and oranges.
-
He will never be there, they are talking about people drafting him in the top 10 now. I would love him, but noway he is there.
-
your very convincing on the fact you are smarter than most NFL GMs, I think you should go apply for a job, the owners will clearly see what we see here on your brilliant ideas , plus they could get you a lot cheaper.
-
I dont think they signed anybody to the roster in FAgency , just to practice contracts. They see upside in him more than who is on the roster behind the starters. The only way I dont see him making it is if Izzy resigns.
-
you are in a better negotiating position if a player drops that several teams want, I think unless its the first 5 picks, people will wait to see who will be there at 20.Doing it ahead doesnt make sense for either team at that spot.
-
I heard mentioned that according to the roster Biggs was given, he is listed as a FB/HB yet.
-
Those are both good observations. I don't understand how Unga is still around, but there must be a reason.
-
I have been watching a lot of tape of everybody talking during this mini camp and I get the impression all the players have respect for Trestman, due to the fact he's the smartest guy in the room.
-
The trades wont occur until the draft starts, why would any smart GM tell the rest of the league what there exact plans are? Atlanta's picks would be 30,92 and 127, if the player they want falls to us.
