He talked to Dan Patrick today and said his agent were doing all the negotiating and called him with details. He was cool in the interview, didnt sound angry or be grudging, just said he thinks they didnt want him anymore. He has never been in this place before in his career and didnt know what to expect.

I would love that draft, just dont think all will be there when we pick. I realize you used there mock for an example.

Quizzed by the Chicago Sun Times, 12-of-13 NFL executives agreed the Bears' one-year, $2 million offer to free agent Brian Urlacher was fair. It was more than fair. "He’s an aging guy who can’t run," said one NFC personnel exec. "Bold move — and the right move — by [bears GM Phil] Emery. Better to get rid of a player a year too early than a year too late." Another GM suggested the Bears "could have offered nothing." The one executive who disagreed believes the Bears should have offered up to $3 million because clubs "generally pay a premium to keep a beloved, homegrown player happy." The Urlacher camp's final offer was a one-year, $3.5 million deal. They may have rejected that, anyway.

So your telling me, there going down a list and picking the trouble makers on the team and there plotting to get rid of them. You are way off base. It is simply, they dont think he is good enough anymore, and chose not to have him back.I can give you a webiste on (Conspiracy theory s) I can understand that you dont like it, but all this garbage for reasons of all this happening is lame.

thank GOD your not running the Bears.

They didnt want him back thats why it wasnt a negotiation, they made an offer and moved on, it is quite simple. The thing we need to realize (whether you agree or not agree) but Emery has a plan, in a few years we can judge how this all turns out. They brought up a offer to 54 and when he didnt take it, went to sign DJWilliams. Cheaper, will have a better year than 54 would have this year, and younger. An upgrade at a cheaper price. I like the thought that he is running this team and has a plan. Time will tell how it turns out. Lasts year draft still has question marks, but got us Marshall. Filled 3 spots in FAgency and we have to see what else he has planned. I like it so far. The SCORE had a beat writer on from Denver that said with the two off field issues , Denver thought about cutting him but keep him around because he is a good football player. They let him go because of his cost this year.

This is a stop gap,he is only signed for one year. If he plays well, we may get another year out of him. He came out the same year Briggs did, but is one year younger. Like BB said, if we get a draft prospect or another FA, DJ can play all three positions. It is a cheap option, that could turn out to be an upgrade. He has had several good years in Denver.

My right hand has numb fingers on it, so sometimes they hit the wrong keys, and I dont always proofread my posts, so you will notice my posts seem to have more mistakes than most on here. I just dont always proofread my stuff.

Emery has been here for one year, and Trestman is new, they dont have those emotional ties to the last 13 years with Urlacher. They happen to be running the team, the family is out of it now, there are making football decisions for the betterment of the team.

Its not my notion that he cant play anymore, the Bears and 31 other teams might think that, I dont see people knocking down his door to get him. I think he is still capable of playing, just not at a very high level. The notion that all the players left on the team are not going to play for Trestman, because they got rid of Urlacher, is quite hilarious. They actually will be pushing it , to prove there worth keeping around when its there turn to be shown the door. I am sure Pep at 16 mil, finds it hard to be motivated because 54 is gone. Tillman, and Briggs are both making over 7 mil this year. (Ill show the new coach, Im not going to play for you guys because they got rid of 54). Anybody thinking that kind of stuff will occur is quite simple minded. They play for a job, money, and teammates. I didnt see anybody laying down with Olin was shown the door.

I cant believe I was the first to post news on here, I heard it on that lousy radio station SCORE, go figure.
-
I heard they signed him for one year, at MLB
-
He is scheduled to make a couple more mil than Bushrod, I am not sure we would have did that.
-
I think the wild card is they think Brown can play and sneeks in at one of the OG spots.
-
I am sure they choose not to have Urlacher back because he played for Lovie, but didnt Melton play for Lovie last year? They must have missed that. I think the possiblity exists that they dont have an emotional tie to 54, so they looked at tape and (a wild idea) think he cant play anymore.
-
Who are you refering to, I dont get it.
-
I think Minter will be the best MLB out of that group. He doesnt have the off field issues of Ogletree, and is bigger than Brown to play the middle.
-
Jason does this mean I won the bet we had? If he never plays another day in the NFL, isnt that 12 games or less?
-
He started more in KC than Spaeth did hear, must have been doing something right.

You are right on the money, not in that order. Oh by the way, HAVENT YOU HEARD I AM A MORON. Wow it that all I have to do.

I dont think you get it; If your Peppers making 16 mil this year, you might be sad that Brian is gone, but tomorrow you wont care, you are still making 16 mil this year. Peppers left Carolina for money, he didnt give the home team a discount because he has a lot of friends there. What the management is doing is trying to put together a football team that might go to the playoffs next year,THE WAY THEY WANT TO, not doing what you or I want. If they end up putting together a team that wins something, we all wont care if Brian is gone. Thats life.

I have been watching the Bears since Dick Bukus and Gale Sayers got me interested. All football teams make bad decisions and good ones, in one year we will know whether this one was good or bad.

Check your sources because what I heard out of Urlachers mouth in a interview was (He made 17 mil the last two years, so he thought he was being fair only asking for 11 for two years) They never made him an offer until yesterday. They never discussed working for 3.5 because the Bears didnt negotiate , they made of offer of 2 mil and said take it or leave it. Urlacher said he would have took 3 or 3.5 after the fact. Those were words out of his mouth, maybe your source is better.
