IMO I have mentioned that I thought Bushrod would be a good addition to our team, and I thought it was time for Urlacher to go. Both of those things the Bears agreed with. Now the next thing I think will happen is they will ask Hester to take a pay cut or they will cut him. We will see the Bears agree with that too.

Boldin was trade for a 6th round pick, there is no way anybody is giving anything better than that for a lost a step ST guy
-
I heard on the radio they offered him a one year 2.5 mil deal and he refused it, so the Bears moved on. Wheres Jason so can here about all that disrespect everybody is giving him.
-
I think someone will give him more money than the min. vet salary of which I think we looking at for most additions going forward.
-
He was one of the fastest DEs coming into when he was drafted. Played decent while in Det, was KCs 2nd round pick in 2007. He is 5 years younger that Idonije, and will be a rotational guy at both DT and DE.(I suspect) Was a DT in college.

Well I guess the Bears have the same opinion of 54 as I do, he's GONE.
-
Bears just announced they cant reach terms with 54 and both are moving on.

Rarely do you find a NFL player that doesnt have a big ego, just stating that a way for him to save face by saying he wants one more run at it. He is only worth what the market bears, but then we should RESPECT HIM by giving him more than hes worth He should have went to the Bears and said how can we get this done, but no (I want 5 mil). Now he faces the fact nobody wants him , so that tells you a lot about what people think of his abiitity after 2 injury laden seasons at 35 years old. I think its time to move on, and find someone that we can live with for the next several years, instead of a 12 game season out of Urlacher.

2 outside LBs doesnt really fit in what we need, and we will be signing at least one in FAgency. LT is probably a given? you need to get some sleep.
-
So the Ravens won because Ray Lewis is a good chearleader? give me a break, they won because of Flacco, Boldin, and many others not named Ray Lewis
-
the players like Brian but is the not the emotional leader that Lewis was with the Ravens. They paid him to much money for the play he gave, they didnt win the SB because of Ray Lewis, he was just along for the ride. Watch the tape, he didnt play well at all. Just because they were stupid to pay him doesnt mean we should.
-
Why would they pay that much there isnt anybody to bid against. Why pay him more than you have to . The best way to respect him is tell him you dont need him anymore so he can retire with grace. He is a big ego guy that thinks he has great valve, well it is time to look in the mirror,NOBODY WANTS HIM. He should say (give me two mil and lets try to win a Super Bowl on my last year), but he wont do that because he is to full of himself.
-
Long only stays a elite LT if his injuries arent a problem going forward. Bushrod is just average but we had to over pay to fix a problem that has been there since we drafted Cris Williams. We just needed to fix it PERIOD

I think Lovie influence our first round pick.Emery was new here and Lovie pushed for defense like he always has.

I think things will be quiet now for awhile and we are working on trying to resign our players in FAgency. I think we resign Idonije, Loius, McCown, and Scott. I think we still get a CB in FAgency because there is a surplus and as time goes on the players get nervous and grab on to a job. I would like to see them grab a Sheldon Brown/CB played for the Browns. I think we still get one of our LBs in FA due to having to count on two rookies to start might be a stretch. I would like to seem them grab Daryl Smith/OLB from Jacksonville, just due to the tie to our DC and played at a high level last year. There is a chance Urlacher comes back, but the longer it goes I think the farther we get away from that signing. I would like another OG like Brandon Moore but dont see that happening if we resign Louis.

I dont think its a bad idea to draft a QB, just think this is a bad year with less picks to add that as a choice. With Cutlers contract coming due it is the perfect timing to do it, its with all the voids on our roster and the guys are getting old that the draft should address, it would just be to much of a luxury to address that this year.
-
You could say that about any signing or draft pick. Its a 3 year window to judge stuff like this. I wish it to be a good signing so I will look optimistically at it.
-
I think the possibility exists that if he doesnt take our low ball offer to him, he retires. Other teams look at tape and see what he has to offer and find out he isnt worth the risk. If he decides to come back here at our price, do you think he becomes a problem in the locker room because he didnt get his price he wanted? I think he is quite a selfish player from the point of view of what he thinks he is worth. He held the franchise at bay when he demanded an extension a few years ago at about 10 mil a year. I always admired him as a player on the field but I think he has a big ego, and isnt going to give the Bears a discount.
-
I think the only way drafting a QB happens is if we acquire ,more picks. It would be a wasted pick if we take one late in the draft, you pretty have to get one prospect by the 3rd round or it isnt worth much. How many late draft picks at QB make it in the NFL? Maybe a few, but most get lost in space. Ideally it would be a good idea to have a top prospect in the mix, in case the Trestman-Cutler relationship doesnt work out, we could have someone in the wings to take over, but the lack of picks throws that idea out the window.
-
We have to see how it plays out. If he is injury free, that would be great, but I think somewhere along the way, we made him an offer and he rejected it, but he settled for less because of the lack of interest. The first day you sell a car, you want top dollar, after a week, you find out it isnt worth as much. The one thing I like about Emery is he figures out our needs and jumps at trying to fix it. He doesnt dick around and let all our options fall away and end up with nothing. He addressed the OL, TE two huge needs and got it done. There were better names out there, but if they werent obtainable at our price, it isnt an option.
-
I think his time has passed, I think he will struggle to be average, but like you said we dont have many choices. I would prefer someone else but if we bring him it is not the best interest of the team to pay him the 10 mil he wants for two years. I would give him 2.5 for one, but I guess that means I disrespect him or something. I think you pay players for what there worth, not on past laurels. He use to be my favorite Bear for many years, but I think it is time to look to the future, not live in the past.
-
I'm ok with all that, but if he plays somewhere, its still the fact he is playing?
-
Mike Wallace will be the biggest bust in this offseason. He will have ok numbers but nothing to what he will be paid. Its all about valve.
-
I didnt do proper grammar on that. Our first pick wont be a CB, (LB or OL). I meant it to say that is what we will be drafting.
