He is a sure thing, anybody you draft has a little bit of ?????? -
How about grabbing the center from the Saints , but we would have to give up our 2nd round pick. That would give us the option and move Garza back to LG. Brown should be developed by the time Garza quits. Just a thought.

Rant Sports.com This a website I came across and this was its Bears mock draft done two hours ago. 1-Tyler Eifert/TE 2-Dallas Thomas/OG-T 4-Joe Bostic/LB 5-Nico Johnson/LB 6-Brandon MaGee/CB I think the possibility exists the top 6 OL prospects will be gone. So Tyler is a good alternative choice. Thomas can play a couple of positions and think he could find a spot on our line. I like Bostic a lot and Johnson could be a sleeper pick.

I think we resign Roach, and possible of Urlacher on the cheap(he wont be big on other teams priority lists) and we can draft a couple in the 4th and 5 to develop.
-
I got a feeling Patterson is going to end up being very, very, good.
-
Terrell Sinkfield, WR (6-foot-1 1/8, 199 pounds) Northern Iowa. speed in the 4.3s, vertical lift of 40+1/2, and 11-5 broad jump. sounds pretty intriguing to me.
-
I think we could say that for almost any FA guards right now.
-
I think he has a plan, I just hope it is a good one.
-
We can only look at it from the point we dont do anything but resign some of our own FAs. We dont even have the cap room to do all that right now. It will come clearer in the next few days.

If all of the top 6 OL players are gone at our 20th spot, who do we take? the top 4 OTs, and 2 top OGs I would suspect we draft our next need. Eifert/TE or maybe Austin/WR. If that happens I would like to see us move down in the draft to get extra picks. I still think AZ is a likely trade candidate. A lot of mock drafts have them taking a QB in the first round, but dont think any of the prospects merit that high of a pick. Which would give us a 39th our 50th and a 3rd round 69. (Warford/OG,Wheaton/WR and Kelce/TE would be my choices. The possibility of BPA would come into play. With the 6 OLs going ahead of us, someone real good would drop to us. DT,DE, or CB.

Some other interesting players at some pro days: Terrell Sinkfield, WR (6-foot-1 1/8, 199 pounds) – The prospect out of Northern Iowa showed off his speed this week at the University of Minnesota, clocking in official times of 4.33 seconds, 4.36 and 4.38 in the 40-yard dash. He initially turned heads when he finished with an unofficial time of 4.19, but his official best time would have placed him second among receivers at the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis last month. Sinkfield, who was not invited to the combine, finished with 40 1/2-inch vertical and went 11-5 in the broad jump. Johnathan Stewart/LB 6-3 7/8, 240) — Stewart ran the 40 in 4.57 and 4.55 seconds, and then stood on the rest of his numbers from the combine (the 40 time was an improvement from the official time of 4.68 he ran in Indy). Stewart’s positional workout was impressive. Ryan Swope, WR (6 1/4, 203) — Swope — who grabbed a lot of attention for running a 4.34-second 40 in Indy — stood on his numbers from the combine. Glenn Foster, DL (6-foot-3 5/8, 286 pounds) — Foster ran the 40-yard dash in 4.82 and 4.79 seconds, had a 4.45-second short shuttle and a 7.15-second three-cone drill. He recorded a 39 1/2-inch vertical jump and a 10-foot-9 broad jump. He also had 29 lifts of 225 pounds on the bench press. Foster was not invited to the NFL Scouting Combine. Foster had a fantastic workout, and he would have been the top performer in his position group at the combine in the vertical jump and broad jump. Foster will have a lot of scouts scrambling back to the film room to see why he didn’t have a better draft grade and wasn’t invited to the combine. Josh Kline, G (6-2 5/8, 307) — Kline ran the 40 in 5.12 and 5.19 seconds. He had a 4.59-second short shuttle and 7.66-second three-cone drill. His vertical was 27 inches and he had a 8-foot-5 broad jump. He performed 25 lifts of 225 pounds on the bench press. Kline — who was not invited to the combine — could be a possible seventh-round pick. Massive offensive lineman Terren Jones stood out during the workout, held on field turf outdoors. Jones (6-foot-7 5/8, 341 pounds) ran the 40 in 5.59 and 5.50 seconds, had a 24-inch vertical jump and 8-foot-7 broad jump, did the three-cone drill in 8.26 seconds and the short shuttle in 4.97 seconds. He did not lift, but his arms measured 36 inches.

I heard Bob LeGere on the SCORE talking about this, and from what he said, you convert it to bonus money and then divide it among the years left on the contract or add a couple of years and instead of the two years, divide it by 4. But the problem is let say we cut him in two years, you take huge cap hits because it all comes due the year you cut him.
-
they wont be re doing Pepps contract, it moves to much money out on the that will kill us in the next few years.
-
they didnt tender Collins, need the money. He will resign later for the minimum.
-
Because of the fact there new to us, they havent shown their hand. If it was Jerry and Lovie, we could pretty well figure it out. I think they have a plan, and they have a few days to get it done. I think we get a TE and OL in FAgency, and resign who we want left over from our own FAs. Its just a matter of getting the players at the price we want to spend. To be honest, the player salaries we need to fit our cap, is more of (after the dust settles) type of players. The type that could help the team but not flashy names. We get at reasonably prices. I hope they surprise me, but believe it or not, I like the same players you do, just think the money is going to be a problem.
-
thanx, I dont always agree with everything you say, but you are insightful most of the time.
-
Do you have any insight from your contact as to the REAL players we seek? Smoke and mirrors and plenty of sources post we want everybody, so what do you got.
-
We werent smart enough to draft well that year, so its a mute point.

Bears expected to be in the bidding for OG, Andy Levitre

Any OLine players will be an upgrade over what we have, the key here is how much. -
cap down another .5 mil, until we get creative, we will be only having cheap additions.I suspect they have a plan, of which bothers me a little because they havent consulted this board about it yet.
-
Just read, that I wasnt sure about, we cant sign players that put us over the cap. So that means if we dont start dropping players and re do contracts, were stuck on about 4 mil to play with, which aint getting us much of anything. It could be a quiet tuesday coming.

I think your probably right, but a good chance Idonije comes back. He played well last year, can play DT/DE and will come cheap. Sounds like a do for me.
