Since this is a slow time, draft sites, I respect are GBND,Countdown.com, and because of content Walters and Drafttex. A new one I found was NFL Mocks and interesting thing about that website is it projects where FAgents go. They have us resigning Campbell(which I dont see happening because of cost) I think the possibility exists due to OC ties we grab Chase Daniel/QB They have us signing Dutin Keller/TE (which I wont be objective to, is the better TEs become to expensive) They have us signing Gordon Cherilius/OT (which I dont see happening because he plays RT) my choices would be Beatty, Albert, Bushrod in that order) They havent released Defense players yet.

I dont think Kromer turned a late round pick into a starter in one season, we need the production immediately not a year or two from now. When means the first player taken in FAgency and the first or second round pick.
-
I think the possibility of Johnson being at 20 are slim and none, we simply have to get a LT in FAgency and take the OG in the first or second round.
-
The biggest thing all of these actions tell you is, not very smart. Anybody with a bright future that doesnt realize what he needs to do to get there, is a big red flag.
-
Im ok with all that
-
I like all the names but Faulk, but dont see Warmack being there at 20, wish he was . Also bb is right, Kelce will go in the 3rd or 4th.
-
there wasnt

I respect his opinions, and little that I know looks reasonable choices. Travis F. has been getting more acclaim lately, so another OL we can throw in the hopper if we chose to go that rout in the second round.
-
I think we will draft one(FB) in a late round, also think we should sign B. Meyers as a reasonable FA, and leave our first 3 draft picks to OL,LB, and a speedy WR. In what ever order makes sense.
-
It would be nice to have him, but not at an upscale price, to much inconsistency, everyone we might get in FA will have some questions so lets get a good deal and deal with an upgrade over what we have at a reasonable price. I am throwing my hat in the ring for B. Meyers, not great but can catch passes. He went to Iowa so maybe he wants to come back to the wonderful weather of the midwest. If we can get him for the same price as we paid our TE-Davis, I think we win. If money didnt matter he would not be my first or second choice, just a better choice considering we only have money to spend on one big FA and I hope that goes to Beatty/LT .

The key here is we have limited funds to spend, we need to spend them on improving the offense. At 2 mil, we can accept Urlacher at a less productive state. He will be mediocre. Did anybody think Ray Lewis played a good super bowl, he might have been a leader but his play was bad. We need a new OL, TE, a speedy WR, at some point we have to fix the defense on the fly, keeping Urlacher doesnt make sense at what he will want, and I believe the powers that be will decide the same thing; not us. I loved Urlacher, but cant do a Lovie and hang on to the past when he simply wont be close to the same. At 2 mil sign me up, if not on the cheap, then start fresh. Jerry and Lovie are gone its time to move forward not sideways. We can get an average FA for less and get the same out of him. OR draft a LB in the second round and run with him for the future.
-
Urlacher is going to want 4 to 5 mil. , we can get a better player for less.
-
Your assuming the first 3 stay healthy. Bennett and Jeffery had extended games off.
-
If your drafting a starter at MLB in Skov, paying Urlacher for two years at 4 mil. a year is a waste. He now has knee damage that cant be fixed. He will play mediocre and 12 games a year. Time to let legends go to pasture. A Saftey no way. Otherwise you address the OL and glad about that. Still want a speed WR.
-
they dont have a choice, they dont have the personal to run a 3-4.
-
We will be cutting Hester and we do need to address WR, but we can do that in a latter round. After OL,TE,MLB, we need to address that , just not with a high pick.
-
For every example of you giving me one slow guy made good, there will be 5 that didnt. I understand all that it takes to be a good WR, but almost all good teams have a speed guy. Speed is not the only thing, but it does matter.
-
I didnt say Jones would last to us, I stated the possiblity of getting Warford in the second. We would have to take him at 20 or move down and grab him. I dont think he makes it out of the first round.
-
Your right about the 40 time not being the main attraction, but in the NFL speed matters. a 4.55 guy aint the same as a 4.33 guy.
-
I agree with you, a latter round pick can get you a speed guy, for a 5th WR you dont need to use you first three picks as you have more pressing needs.
-
If you grab a guard in Fagency what if Lane is not there when you draft? You next option at LT will be a big dropoff and probably not start. then where are you at? I think with the money it will cost you for Levitre you can get your LT in FAgency and have better interior options in the 1st round. Cooper, Jones,Warford in the second, maybe Long? I would take those TEs you named but after signing a LT and Melton your money will drop off quit a bite.
-
I like the idea of Reddick over the speed of Olgetree, and might be gotten with our 2nd round pick. Leaving us to grab a OL in the first.
-
Your right the top 3 LTs will be gone. thats why I like the idea of Beatty, much better than Webb. Resign Scott, and let Webb be the swing tackle. Draft Cooper OG, he is the 2nd rated guard and worthy of a first round pick. He would start from day one. Hopefully Louis is healthy so you bring him back. You have Carmi compete with him or Scott and let the best man win. You draft a David Quissenberry in the 4th that can play C or OG. Groom him for Garzas job in the future. Brown can compete with Louis in the next few years if he takes a step forward. Beatty-Cooper- Garza-Louis-Scott. You have Brown-Webb-Quissenberry- Carmi as backups. Let the best men win.

Bennett - Jones tie? are you insane, Jones had 14 TDs this year.

Top Athlete: Alec Ogletree – Georgia – 6’3/232 The former safety has been receiving criticism from my end for a long time. Each time I watch the talented but underachieving Bulldogs defense on tape, Ogletree jumps out at me in two ways. One good, one bad. Top end speed, agility, and reaction. Closes a 5-10 yard window quicker than anyone in this class. An easy, fluid mover in coverage with fast-twitch hips. Physical tackler that knows how to finish a play when he has his weight under him. Struggles mightily against oncoming blockers. Minimal physical presence. Gets locked on to with ease and cannot free himself. A liability against the inside rushing game. The decision makers will fall in love with Ogletree’s top tier speed and quickness they see on film. As much as I think he can’t handle the inside game at the next level, I’m confident some coach will be assured he can work with him. He can be a top 15 guy. He won’t be near there on my board, but in a speed game, I can understand the infatuation. Top Versatility: Kevin Reddick – North Carolina – 6’2/246 Watching Reddick on tape is a chore. He is all over the field. He does everything from controlling the inside running lanes to putting his hand in the dirt outside the tackle on passing downs. He can do it all at a high level. Quick and savvy. Moves towards the action right away, rarely fooled. Can dance around blocks to miss contact as well as take linemen head on to plug the hole. Creates a nice impact upon engagement. The best blitzing linebacker in this class, whether from the inside or out. Agile hips and feet. Does not bring that athleticism when he drops in to coverage. Tries to read the quarterback too often, loses track of the receivers around him. Will overpursue at times, creating massive cutback lanes. A big no-no inside. Teams love to bring in rookies that can fill multiple roles. Reddick is an inside linebacker but will have no issues playing outside. He is a huge mismatch for backs to block when he blitzes. He can be too strong for some, and too quick for others. Reddick is a guy always around the ball that will go higher in the draft that many think. He does too many things very well. Top Physical Presence: Kevin Minter – LSU – 6’1/245 LSU is always stacked with defensive talent. However this year a lot of their prospects are based on upside that need time to physically develop. Minter, however, stands out on tape with his NFL-ready body and power with surprising quicks and pursuit ability. Big time presence against blockers and ball carriers. Often the guy that send the joly to an opponent. Creates tremendous power from his lower half. Stays low and balanced. Has more lateral range than you initially think. Stable athlete that can play strong inside and out. Can retreat in to deep coverage fast. Not the most instinctive linebacker. Fooled by counters, playaction. Takes a lot of false steps, playing a lot of recovery football. May not be a three down linebacker. Minter will be sought after by teams looking to beef up with run defense. He will have no issues making an impact there right away. He can take on, and get rid of blocks. He can finish a play. He can play fast enough to defend the outside game as well. However with the NFL becoming such a passing league, that impact against the run may not be as important as it was 5-6 years ago. Top Instincts/Football IQ: Manti Te’o – Notre Dame – 6’2/255 The love for Te’o got a little out of hand by the media, and therefore public opinion, during the 2012 season. At no point was he a top 10 prospect, let alone top 5. His story has been well documented but I am keeping my evaluation based off of game tape. Consistently moving in the right direction as the ball is being snapped. Gets himself and others in to position. Had a lot of control of a very good Notre Dame defense. Great tackler that uses the combination of power and form. Strong hands that can get rid of blockers. Improved his range and ability to swivel his hips in coverage. Explosive in a five yard window. Still lacks the speed you want out of a three down linebacker. Heavy feet. Won’t reach the sidelines fast enough. Te’o is going to be a good linebacker at the next level. Physically, he does well enough. Mentally, he is very intelligent and diagnoses with the best of them. The problem, however, is he will be learning a new scheme with new players against faster competition. That mental advantage may not be there right away. Put that on top of his lack of top tier speed and quickness could force his grade down a significant amount. WHO DO YOU WANT AND WHAT ROUND DOES HE FIT IN.
