I get the desire to get something for a player that wont be here next year, I just dont think Poles is thinking that way.
-
This should be a 41-19 game but it probably wont. They won a game and only lost by 10 to Cincy. They have a good OL, can run the ball and Dalton is not terrible. they have only 1 TO in the last 2 games. So if we win , even by 3 points, lots of people will be saying what a terrible team we have. I dont care if we win 17-16, with a rookie QB and if he has a couple TOs, it could be close.

I see what you see but there are only a few OTs in the league that always have clean tape. If you look at all 22 on an average OT, do other fans say the same thing? If you compare him to Treat Williams he will always look like a failure but compare him to Brenard Raimann from the Colts and look at the results.

There is always a price thar would trigger Poles to trade a player but past trades show you get less than expected. Players like Sweat will always get a high pick but marginal players go for much less. On a team ascending, is Herbert more vaulable as depth or a 6th round pick next year? I expect Adams will be trades but a 4th round pick is probably what they get. Allen fetched a 4th round pick. Allen has a history of injury issues which lowered his price, age also comes into play. The rumors are always sport writers looking for a story, there are only a few that carry vaulable predictions. Rapport comes to mine. Poles needs to win this year and having Allen helps bring along the developement of CW, that wont happen.

I understand these type of dicussions on trading players when they arent playing but if your an ascending team why would you trade quality depth? No one is giving high draft picks for a backup RB. Allen was traded for a 4th round pick( an allstar WR). Fields was traded for a (now status) 4th round pick. You be lucky to get a 6th round pick for him. Herbert has good tape but also an injury issue. He missed 9 games in his last 2 seasons, and doesnt pass block very well. Homer is currently injured and Ian Wheeler is out for the year with a knee. RBs get injured a lot . THEY ARE NOT TRADING HIM

Does anyone have a PFF sub.? What I could find was he's currently ranked 31st OT in the league. Keep in mind there are 64 starters current with many getting other snaps. He has a 70 pass blocking grade which is above average. I have notice several plays that he lost the battle but overall is gradig out well. I dont use PFF as a bible but it does give you sometyhing for comparision.

Poles actions is all pointing to 25 and 26 to make a run. Now if we win this year its just a bonus.

I never said he was better than CW just the fact he was high in the draft because of his great yr. The committee doesnt care if he hit his first read or not, just that he was successful. As you brought up great stats dont always give you the best measuring stick. Experts are just labels people put on content creators. Some are smart and some arent, its based on our views on a particular subject. They just give their opinions just like we do but they inject their experiences into theirs that we dont have. We like or dislike a creator because it more aligns with our opinion.

I think its to early to make judgements on whether Waldron is good or not. As Adam said each quarter needs to be improved. We are 2-2 and the best projections were us 3-1 at this time. I think we are right on track for a winning season and lots of fans are just overrreacting to a slow start. Waldron has been a OC before and had imited success but had the experience. I think a better choice than someone that has never did it before.

Daniels was the best QB in college last yr statlisticly. and its a reality both could be great QBs. Daniels is limited on the playbook as CW has been given the whole playbook to develop him quicker. Bagent looked good in a limited role last yr because it was limited in what they asked of him. I think Poles drafted the best QB but we have limited games to judge him. After 10 games may be a better time to judge.

Kiwan, if not coming off an injury, would have went in the second round. He has a high ceiling potential. He drafted him in the 3rd round because of valve. He has a starter at LT so letting him sit and learn his first yr makes sense. He hasnt played yet because of his injury recovery. I would say with Jenkins injury history, he will get starter snaps. Every team is different , to say these later picks are starting as later picks might be because of injuries not necessarily because they earned it, Its a little premature to say he's a wasted pick. As far as drafting a OC not one of those mentioned were OCs. Only one later center is starting right now and that is because of injury, B Limmer of who we just played against. He had 2 starting OGs in Jenkins and Davis and brought in Bates and Shelton before the draft. Now in hindsight, Davis sucks, Shelton is not very good and Bates is injuried. Going in the draft, we needed more bodies at OT, so he drafted a OT. All of that made sense at the time but now is in question because of the results of the players he brought in. Scott isnt seeing time because he is the backup to Rome and DJ and those 2 are much more valuable as starters. Carter as got snaps bevause he is the backup to Allen. I suspect because of schems Everett has gotten more snaps because of schemes. Havent said that you would think Scott would have gotten limited snaps at this time. Because of our running game being bad up to this game, more snaps have had a FB in place. It just may be a scheme related reason. Everett was an inexpensive backup with a history of being productive, that wasnt a bad signing even if he has limited snaps.

Yes of course trade him to upgrade the OL room but what teams let starter quality OL go during the season? Bad teams with over paid OL might be the case but why trade for a RB that probably becomes a FA at the end of the season when you're having a bad season?
-
I think most coaches are like that. I think he is a good coach and we will see that as we become a winning team. If we dont become a winning team then it will answer a lot of questions.
-
I would totally agree with you but they got a new HC. That has more of a bump. There is questions about how good Waldron is but I think we need to see a whole season instead of judgements after every game.
-
I dont think because some players arent getting minutes, means they are going to trade them. Injuries happen all the time. At some point, Herbert will get some valuable minutes. Bad teams trade good players during the season, we are past that now. We are in win mode and we are not trading our depth. Herbert wasnt in their plans anyways, drafted Johnson and signed Swift, he has to much of injury issues and isnt a good pass blocker. Also Jenkins wont be back unless he signs a team friendly deal because of injuries.
-
Its never as black and white as that. Who was injured Last yr ? Walker missed 5 games. They have a new headcoach, if they drafted well , the upgrade of the roster. He may of had an effect on it, but to say he is responsible for the difference is a reach.

The officiating is inconsistent . In our last game Wright was called for lining up wrong but if you watch KC, their RT almost does it every play. Hopefully we get good crews bucause our margin of error is delicate until we get better.

Stats can be deceving at times. Its just a messuring stick but not the end all answer to everything. PPF is the stat king yet they're not always accurate.

Was it two yrs ago where Minny had the best record late in the season and fell on their face in the playoffs. Its a tough division but I find confort in we may have the best QB in the league more so next yr going forward. Love has played very well but still question how much the coach has to do with that.

I wasnt saying it was all the time but some plays he holds the ball to long. I remember 3 where he double clutuched the ball. I give praise when he deserves it and notice things he needs to improve on. I think he going to be a top 5 QB but he is not that now. Rookies have growing pins. He didnt have any TOs yesterday that was a big deal. -

I think he needs to see players open to throw the ball, you seen several times him hesitate to throw. Being a rookie he has growing pains. The key is no TOs. Coaches and players didnt just become smart or a good player in one week. Swift is a good back , yet lots of people were writing him off over the beginning of the season. Their never as bad as their worst game or great as their best game, you have to look at the big picture to judge players and coaches. -
On X lots of people mentioning that LA had a terrible D. I reminded them they were coming off a win over SF. Any team can beat any team in the NFL, many examples of that. The goal is to win and I dojnt care if its pretty or not. Carolina is not a good team but they are capable of beating us. We just need to win.

Its hard to win in the NFL, good stats doesnt mean you win the game, its to complex for that. We see in real time us getting better , its tied to CW and his growth. The one constant is we have a D that averages 19 points against. We expected them to be better out of the blocks but every game shows more what it can be. The OL was better, 131 rushing and held the pocket better. Come to find out this is what Poles seen in Swift. He can be a good asset.
