Bears working out Mike Glennon, QB NC State
Stinger226 replied to Bears4Ever_34's topic in Bearstalk
The possibility exists we could draft a QB somewhere in the draft. Emery is good at not letting people know what he is going to do, so no matter who they look at, he will end up surprising us. -
If there is any indication by our private workouts, LB is a dominate position we brought in. Prospects were anywhere from 1st round types to 4th. Somewhere in our first 3 picks will be a LBer.
-
Draft Insider has him rated 10th at OG.
-
If he is a 4th round type, I find it hard to believe he is rated the worst.
-
I seen an article that we brought him in town at the last minute. He is Vinston Painter a OT out of VT. We like him at OG. He is very athletic, and with the new scheme on the OL the athletic guard fits it better. James Brown, Garza, not so much Slauson and Carmi. He is said to be around a 4th rounder and not many teams worked him out. He needs to learn more, good upside, and not well known.
-
He is not perfect but he has the potenial to be good there. He is rated the best cover LB, so in our scheme that would put him at the top of the list.
-
Your right it will take two years to define the comparison. I guess the point I will make is Spence will be known as a better player between the two. They are both DTs and for example Paea was stated he could play either spot. So the distinction is a mute point if one is a rotation guy and the other is an pro bowl type. That is like distinguishing bewteen a #1 and#2 WR, there still both WRs.
-
There going to jake with him wherever he goes. The cicus would be a little more extreme that most places, because it is so close to ND. If you take his personal shit away there are a lot of competent people that say he is going to be a good player. I dont see it, but Im not that smart. If we drafted him in the second, I actually wouldnt TT the move.

Predictions for upcoming draft. We will trade down and grab an extra third and 6th.(several trade partners, no need to go into detail.) 2 of our first 3 picks will be defense. We will grab a OLine prospect but not at top of draft. We will draft a WR. I also think we grab a QB prospect in 5 or 6. I have thrown out there the names I like Ogletree, Brown, Minter, Greene, Hodges: Stills, Swope,Boyd,Ausin: Fredirch,Swenke,Jones, Warford,Winters: Banks,Amerson,Ryan,Alford,Hawthorne.
-
Olgetree will never make in to the second pick, unrealistic draft. Schwenke will never make it to the 4th, like him thou. We need a third round pick from somewhere, the players we like we all be picked in that round.
-
Its not my first choice but I could grow into liking the TE thing you got going. As far as Evan playing TE, its Lovie? If first years, have you ever seen him make the right decision. As far as your draft I have been reading some negatives on Williams,If is listed by many scouts a high risk/high reward pick. There are safer picks at that spot in the draft to grab. Spence is a much more productive and athletic prospect. If you would like to make a gentlemans bet, I call Williams doesnt excel at the next level? you in?We can bet anything, Im sure of my opinion.
-
I totally agree, by far the best.
-
I have to admit, your really good at putting stats together. You should apply at PFF. I would not be upset if any of the front listed was chosen. In the next group, I would go Olgetree,Trufant,Fluker in that order. With the second pick, out of the first group only Hankins and Hopkins with make my mouth dry. The second list I would take any of the linemen or CBs. With the 3rd pick first group, Jones or Logan. The second set I would take Stills,Spence Bostic in that order. The first pick will determine the next and so forth.I would like Olgetree, Warford and Stills.
-
you cant trade comp picks.
-
Moving down two spots is only going to get you a 5th or a 6th, well worth it, and with Houston they have an extra 2nd and 6th so I suspect that would come to us. So Eifert, a 3rd,6th,6th. I would do that. It would give us 8 picks to work with.
-
Size is a concern, but not always a complete measuring stick. There are several smallish players in the league. His game is best compared to Randall Cobb, and as a weapon, he would get plenty of use in our offense. I think it is a mute point, he will never fall to us at 20.
-
I think I read it on PFT but that was the original source. Its a slow period so was just throwing stupid information out there.
-
TO wants to make a comeback and guess who he wants to play for? TAADAA Mark Trestman. Somebody give him a gun.
-
think it is just insurance if Gould doesnt come back quickly, its not a guaranteed contract.
-
So does this mean we are giving up on Evan Rod.? If we draft another TE in the first, our 4th round could end up being a wasted pick. It is not I dont like Tyler, but I dont think Emery is giving up on him yet.
-
Its 85% mental and unfortunately its Devin's head .
-
Its a little odd, because I heard they signed him to a 3 year contract. Also they stated Gould is still recovering from an injury that is going slower than normal.
-
Just so everybody knows someone else came up with that idea, I just posted it. I dont think he has it anymore, and I suppose we wont know until training camp if that is true. I was just showing options of a trade, a cut , or keep him if he's still good. I just dont see us keeping a roster spot for a player that just returns kicks, and there is the issue of his pay check.
-
I think if traded for him, they would force him to redo his contract. I dont think he has it anymore, and think the Bears are keeping him around for a trade option. We would save 2mil if we cut him and would create 833,000 in dead cap space. I just dont think we have the luxury of keeping strictly a KR-PR with that paycheck. Also you have 4 special teams spots that do nothing but kick, punt LS, and KR. I dont see us having him around.
-
He is not a WR anymore.
