My point was a 1-2 record does not make a profound statement that all our coaches are bad. If this offensive trainwreak continues , I'll jump on the bandwagon of everyone is bad but it's still early. I've listen to about 20 podcasts discussing this topic and to me there is a communication problem between OC and QB. Did anyone hear Mercedes Lewis talk? He basically siad Waldron isnt calling people out for screwing up. Trying to be the nice guy. I think CW has shown improvement in every game but for anyone to say he is not part of the problem is misguided. The defense doesnt set until we line up , lets say they load the box and he is expected to change the play change the line call if necessary , if he dorsnt make the adjustment, the play looks bad which is on him. I credit the coaches for giving him everything and letting him be fully invested in the offense but if is in game adjustments arent being made, some of this disfunction is on him. They are not babing him so he is learning on the job so by the second half of the season the offense will look better as he grows. There are lots of stupid play calling going on like playing shotgun in the red zone. Flus had made some bad decisions also and as a whole, its dysfuncional. Flus, Waldron, and CW all need to do better to make this work. Then you take in account the player building by Poles and its a mess on offense. We have Bates coming back in two games and Kiwan should be ready so OL help is close. Pryor has a few crap plays but overall was a lot better than Davis. ( everyone was right on Davis where as I was hoping from the player he put on film in Tenn) EVERYONE is to blame for this dysfunction.

So would you say SF 1-2, Rams 1-2 , Denver 1-2 and Miami 1-2 have all bad coaches? In their past they all have a history of winning, a coach in his 3rd yr of a total rebuild has yet to build that resume. No one would have won the first yr here as Poles corrected the cap by getting rid of all the good players. In his second yr, he went 7-10 and finished 4-3 with two losses that one play changed could have given us wins. Plus according to you we had a bad QB. f you notice bad teams that always stay bad, keep changing coaches every couple of yrs because the owners get to impatient to win, and they always stay losers . In my Bear history , I never seen a complete rebuild except when Jim Finks was here in the eighties. This is what a complete rebuild looks like. It wont be pretty until 2025 when it is almost complete. Now that we have a blue Chip QB, Im going to let 2025 happen before I want to burn it down.
-
It works that way in any business . The key is are they interfering in any of the team decisions that Poles makes? Im not even sure Warren is interfering in the day to day decisions and he is in the position of power. If the team fails it is because of Poles actions. Do you think Harbaugh answers to anybody? Of course he does. If you hire smart people you let them win or lose on their own merit. If this all fails it says George hired the wrong person, not because he told Poles to keep Flus as the coach, or trade for Allen, or pay JJ.
-
I dont disagree but the 4th game of the third season is not the right time to talk about burning it down. IMO If they win the next 3 games 4-2 will be acceptable for me. Everything you stated could still apply sitting at the bye week with winning the next 3 games. Im on Twitter X all the time and I understand problems but I think it will straighten out. Im just not ready to have a lousy season in my mind just because of what I have seen so far, you're welcome to do so. Some people think the bus already run off the cliff. This place is mild compared to X.
-
I dont really disagree with you other than its kind of early to drive off the cliff, just saying 2 months will give us a better picture to discuss who stays and who should leave. You may be right about everything. If we are 4-2 going into the break will you have a different opinion? Or 3-3? 2-4 will definititly have me complaining.
-
I dont think George is running anything anymore. We have Warren, then Poles/Cunningham and Flus. So if this regime fails it will be on Warren-Poles not George. Poles came in saying it will take him 4-5 yrs to rebuild this team into a consistant winner, its yr 3. This yr will be the proof of his plan 7-10 or 9-8, 10-7, or 11-6. I cant say its not working in only the 3rd game of the 3rd season and Im Peter Positive, get back to me in 2 months. Yes some things dont look good but what do you think the SB contenders fans are saying in SF 1-2, Dallas 1-2, Cinn 0-3, and Miami 1-2? Because we choose the blue chip QB, I think we need to let the season play out. Typical rookie QBs look like CW right now, Stroud was the outlier.

In the general sense, overall, Poles has gotten a lot of praise for building this team from one of the worst rosters in the league with a hellish cap situation into where we are today .(The third yr) This is the year which will show if the job he has did turns into sucess. Has he made some bad decisions , yes. No GM bats 1000% , the key here is where we are at in the second half of the season with a rookie QB. He could have did the easy path to victories by keeping Fields (3-0) and trading the #1 pick into another draft haul, filled our weaknesses and have a winning team this yr. He has built a very good defense in three yrs, added talent on offense and could get us to third base but he rolled the dice with a potenial high end QB prospect that is going to have strumbles along the way. The end game is the hitting home runs , not tripples. We are 3 games into the season, 1-2 and were into the last minute of the two losses with the chance to win. The defense has looked good but the offense has 4 flat tires. We have a few weeks to get the tires fiixxed before I set the vehicle on fire. Poles- B+ Flus C- Waldron D QB no grade

CW is a rookie QB , if he sees 5 or 6 players on the line ,he is suppose to make a line adjustment to pick up the extra pressure, if he doesnt do that, that's not the OCs fault. My point is we dont know where the mistakes are being made, as fas as I'm concerned everyone gets the blame not one person.
-
There are clear things you can see in a game that is a direct right or wrong decision by a coach but a lot of what we see could be blamed on a player, coach, HC. When CW throws a pass to an area and the WR run a different route, is that the WR or the QB fault? We dont know the answer to that. If a DE has no one blocking him, was it a bad play call or did the QB fail to make a line call adjustment? What we do know is the play failed. First it is obvious breakdown , player didnt execute, bad play call, or QB failed to call the play properly? We dont have to answer to these questions. When we lose everything gets picked a part and when we win, we look at the good plays and praise them. I think Harbaugh is a really good coach but hr plays old school as Pix stated, tough defense, major running game, and controlled passing. That is a winning combination . He has one of the better QBs in the league and they're throwing 22 passes , 135 yards a game. If Harbaugh was here we probably would have won the 3 games because he wouldnt have put the QB in the position to make those mistakes with 22 passes a game and 135 yards a game. Eventual he would get hammered for not having a modern day passing game, he would be critized for wasting a high end QB. I thought everyone wanted the modern day passing game instead of what the Bears have always did in the past? Our coaches are developing CW and letting him make mistakes to hurry the process, unfortuinately that results in some losses until the QB grows past that. They could have dumbed down the offense and limited CWs effect on the game for sake of winning but they are doing exactly what they should be doing letting CW develop. The coaches are being hammered instead of being praised for doing the right thing.( develop CW)

The QB should be communicating with the OC , thgat's how they figure out what works best.
-
With 3 good teams in our division , we will have to pass at least one of them to make the playoffs
-
Both Arizonians had good posts. I will say it's early, and with the progress of CW, we could be a contending team in the very near future.
-
Exactly, Kiran Amagonnalearnyourelastnamewhenyoublocksomeone. As much as everything isnt working, they are giving him the full playbook, he is responable for line calls, making adjustments. As much as its a mess, it will make him better later in the season as he learns. The other option is keep it basic and it would look better. I think their doing the right thing. The second half of the season will surpeise everyone.
-
I think we would be running the ball much better right now and have a strong defense. We are doing one of those.
-
He deserves to take heat on several moves but no GM wins on every transaction. I look at the overall picture and it is in a plus. We had deep cap issues and one of the worst rosters in the league. In his third yr, he has us on the brink of a good team. This yr will be his good/bad GM season. If we have a winning season, right on schedule, if below that threasehold, he will deserve to be hammered. He siad 4-5 yrs to remake this team, year 3. I think we are in an early season over reaction. We are 1-2 and every game came down to the last series of every game. Be honest , who thought we were on schedule to blow out teams and be undefeated at this stage? No one but maybe me. With a rookie QB this will take more time to get up to speed. Basically groomming CW should be the biggest goal. Winning is the second goal, and thirdly develop the roster. At 1-2 none of those goals should be considered a failure just yet. I want to see what the record is at our bye week, not now.
-
He did not practice last week, I think he has an injury issue.
-
If the last game did anything for us, it showed that Johnson needs to be in the goalline offense.
-
Lets see how he does after the offense gets rolling, everything is out of sync now. I guess Bates coming back might be the answer at OC, it cant be worse.
-
I think he can progress as a QB and we can still win but along way to go.
-
Watch his tape from last yr when he had a good OL.

Finally you got my attention, the Coleman Shelton revenge game. Actually they tried to resign him but we offered more money. -

This game is going to look like the first 3 games, a close low scoring game with us winning or losing on the last series of the game. Watch this video and it will explain the status of this team at this point in time. Good talking points IMO. -
He's not a power runner, he is the type back Poles envisions to go with the modern passing offense. There is to many OL break downs and play calling mistakes for him to be used properly. Johnson is a better fit right now on a stuggling OL.
-
I think Poles obtained OL in his own eyes. Medium talent, hard worker, good character and to be developed. He has a 2nd round draft pick that has good tape but has an injury history, (Jenkins), a 1st round RT that everyone sees a high upside. Then his( I can develop him player).Brandon Jones (has played above his draft position), Nate Davis (above average play history) but coasting( bad choice). Bates (over achiever with an injury) jury still out on him. Shelton is a journeyman that I think was brought in as a backup. Kiwan has high upside but came back from surgery and isnt ready yet. Booker is injuried but not looked on as a starter. Ironically our worse players last yr are playing well. Patrick as a OG on a high level offense. Whitehair is an average starter for Raiders that is backed up by JPJ, someone everyone wanted us to draft. Everyone wants 1st round starters on the OL. You never see that. Last year part of Texans success was 3 1st round starters already on the line. Everyone has to develop players and we are not there yet. As of now he gets a C- as a grade. Watch this video.

No where did I blame CW for all our woes, he is a part of what is wrong but as a rookie that is to be expected. Never stated JF should be here instead of CW but I do think a dumbed down offense would get us more wins right now and that is what everyone is talkig about. When you lose, everyone picks a part every play to find answers. When you win , those never get the same mileage. Alex Smith was an above average QB when Mahomes was drafted. They never had any problems with Smith and Mahomes on the same team for that yr. JF is a more productive QB right now than CW as a rookie, but CW has a much higher ceiling. This team is built to have big yrs in 2025-26, its not complete yet. I think people are projecting higher expections because of the better talent but the rebuild needs one more yr to hit. A couple more OL, edge, DT, we will be ready to play with the big boys every week. I think we will be a real good team once CW is more comforable as a pro, he clearly isnt there yet. The whole season will be littered with this late one score games both wins and losses. We would have won the game if we had run for 150+, less pressure on CW but instead we got a Hail Mary Pass that was one yard short. Throwing 360+ with over50 throws means your playing from behind.
