  1. I always surf the web to find stories about the Bears and found one that does that for me. Topix.com/Chicago Bears ( I dont know how to link it) It searches the web for any stories on the Bears and posts them everyday. It makes it easy for me.
  2. the problem is the roster is full and they did not sign him , the tryouts are over and he didnt make it, no matter how tall he is.
  3. I remember the disagreement and the facts you stated were true, but my point on all of that was if he is so talented I would assume he would have found his way at the most important spot on the OL , and not have been moved around so much. When Carimi got hurt last year, I would have thought they moved Williams in that spot, instead of a inexperienced guard. I think he is ok of a player but I would consider a bust as a #14 LT that hasnt been able to secure that spot.
  4. He was ranked by one guy 54th, there are tons of people ranking players. The only ones that matter is how GMs rank players, and they get it wrong more that they get it right. I hope he turns into a good player, but odds of that being this year are very slim. Not because of where he was drafted, but because he needs to gain strength and experience and you dont get that in a couple of months.
  5. We are on the same page with Webb. He just hasnt progressed in two years of starting, no matter how long his arms are and quick his feet is. I just dont see it. Maybe this is the year he makes the leap, but to where? average. I think the LT spot needs a better than average player there and we just dont have that guy on the roster. C. Williams, give me a break, if he was so good he would have siezed the moment and grab a OT spot, instead they made him a guard.
  6. I think the OLine goes as follows Williams, Rachel, Garza, Louis, Carimi. I think Dline will be McClenin, Melton/Idonije(rotation), Paea/Toeiea(rotation), Peppers. Idonije is 10 to 15 lighter than he should be at DT but with his experience and having played there before, dont see it as a reach. All of this is based on Shea being able to handle the run well. With Shea and Idonije in there at the same time, it makes the left side of the line light. If McCargo shows anything, Idonije will stay at DE.
  7. You are right as that PROBABLY being our strongest lineup, but think Rachel could come into play. He was a high rated prospect that dropped off for a reason. Didnt get along with the new coaches? Had a personal issue? Got lazy? I think when some players change teams, they have to reprove themselfs and get motivated, so they get it on. If that is the case, then maybe Rachel at LG and Garza stays at center. Just a thought.
  8. Melton and Idonije both will play the 3 tech spot, so they wouldnt be starting at the same time.
  9. The way I measure everything is Brady was a 6th round pick. The system is flawed and every once in awhile a player makes it threw. It would be nice if that was Brown, but odds are against him
  10. I think the possibility exists that Idonije moves to DT and Davis, Wooten, Shea and Peppers are our DEs. Totally bases on how well MeClenin starts out. I would say Louis is a sure things as Williams moves outside. I doubt if any of the first year guys on OL make the opening day roster except Brown, sinced they dropped Horn. The Oline on opening day: Webb,Carimi,Garza,C. Williams, E. Williams, Spencer,Rachal, Louis. maybe Brown on practice squad and brought up in case of injury. I also think with OT thin, there could still be a training camp cut in the league that could be brought in at the last minute, if somes injuries pop up.
  11. If it came out, probably more than half the pro players smoke pot, but are smart enough to not get caught.Being young and thinking your smarter than those testing you are not uncommon. It will depend on his work ethic and how he turns out as a football player, not whether he quits smoking pot. To bad Hurd is not still on the team, to teach him to hide off field issues. He did that for several years before he got caught being stupid.
  12. Start with the Oline, Carmi remains an injury problem, Webb doesnt take a step forward. Forte holds out until the season starts and starts slow. Cutler, because of the Oline, doesnt get time to take advantage of the WRs he was given. Marshall ends up being suspended for 4 games. We still dont have a pass rush. The DBs suffer because of no pass rush. Urlacher has nagging injuries that keeps him out of games. With all negitive things (and all wont occure) we finish 7-9, 8-8 and Lovie keeps his job for one more year.
  13. I think you cant upgrade evey weakness in one offseason, but thought the OLine should have been more of a focus. It may turn out ok but have my doubts. I think with improvement and putting Cutler in a better position to throw, with new Wrs they can get by. I only hope that true.
  14. We need to look at why we should be optimistic. With Marshall, Jeffery, Weems, Thomas, we now have the best WRs we have probably every had here. With Gates, he will know how to use Cutler to the best of his ability. With Tice, he will play to the strengths of his players and not to a system. Rodreguz and Davis come thru and make an impact at TE. Forte signs and with Bush we have a legit 2 rb tandem that leads the league in rushing. The faith in the line comes thru and Webb improves, Carmi stays healthy and Garza doesnt have a dropoff due to age. We now have a pass rush with McClenllin, and Paea and Melton take a step forward. The LBs stay healthy and Hayes improves the Sam LB spot. With a healthy pass rush, the DBs keep their head above water, and Conte and Hardin make the S positon a strong one. Our STs remain a stength,. Gould remains in top form. We avoid injurys that wrecks the positives we have going for us. Next up the reasons to look at the glass half empty. With most things going right we finish 12-4, maybe 13-3 and we have a SB berth.(and lose to the Bengals 34-13 with a Cutler injury) just kidding.
  15. I can see both sides of the arguement on Forte, but I just dont understand how they cant meet somewhere in the middle. I do believe the Bears have upped there offer when Emery took over, I would assume not enough to make a difference thou.
  16. If he needs that to motivate him after the way he played the last two years, he is a lost cause.I think best case situation is he is our #4 OT with Williams starting or the swing tackle. I think he needs some coaching and to gain stength and he may be able to play competitive in the NFL.
  17. I hope he turns out to be a good player, but Lovie paints (rose gardens) with every player, and they only have shorts on roaming the field with non contract players. Curb your enthusiasm.
  18. You list Jeffery in the mix but leave out Broyles, when he falls in the same situation. I dont think you can have it both ways. You have to either leave out rookies or add all of them in. Broyles is in just a good a situation as Jefferys is with us. We dont know how it pans out.
  19. I dont think we can take small samples and project anything. We played well in the middle of the season, but we dont know how things would have went with Cutler and Forte around. Injuries affect every year and have different results, I always hope for the best, but with caution.
  20. We dont have a choice, I think the way the draft fell, they didnt bring in anybody in the draft, and we werent going to go high dollar at the position with the Marshall signing, so this is the only route.
  21. Were looking in the bottom of the barrel, but hopefully, we can find a rotation guy.
  22. I would think we will be better, since we only have up to go, but is it going to still be a problem? I think the LT spot is the only one we continue to be concerned about, the middlle will be ok, and Carmi, if healthy will be a upgrade.

They have Brown listed in the second spot behind Webb, of which I think Williams challenges for the LT starter spot. I think Idonije moves inside to the DT rotation and McClellin and Davis take over the DLE spot. I think Hardin starts at some point this year over Wright(not very good and injury concern) I think K. Hayden ends up starting over Jennings at the other CB spot opposite Peanut. I think Rodreguiz plays a lot as a HB/TE as we play a lot of two TE sets. Weems is our KR starter going in. Any thoughts of your own.
  24. Rotoworld has us ranked 29th among Oline going into 2012. Profootbalfocus has us ranked 31st amony Olines going into 2012. Football Outsiders has us ranked 24th. At least I see the national ranking follow our expectations on this website. I can see us being better, but the LT spot will still be a problem. I think we run a lot of 2 TE formation to help on the line blocking, and quick patterns, but I still remain worried the Oline can have a major negative effect on our Offensive production.
