  1. I agree if they went WR I would have thought it be Randle.
  2. The kid talking about being a special teams player, is just him answering ?s in a positive way , has nothing to do what the Bears expect of him.
  3. I think they will try to make him stronger, then will start, and will be a situational pass rusher to start out with. We have all these opinions and he could turn to be a very good player. Emerys strong suit is drafting and if this doesnt turn out, we can burn him. Being a Bear fan I want it to be a good pick and I will remain positive about it until it proves otherwise. I also think down the road he could be the next big thing at MLB when Urlacher is done and be there 10 years. Right all he has to do is get 8 to 10 sacks and everybody will be happy.
  4. This is getting out of whack and I understand what you meant when you were comparing him to Bazium(dumb comparison by the way) when you said he was white. but anytime you mention color in any type of comparison you will get flack. Maybe you should give a little more thought to what you say before blogging it, then you wont have to try to defend yourself all the time by telling other people how stupid there are when you were the one that stated it.

    2nd Round Pick

I wouldnt mind taking any of those WRs, I think they may go DT with the second round. possible choices Worthy/DT/MS,Still/DT/PSU,Reves/DT/Conn, Thompson/DT/Clem. Also OL with players Glenn/OT-OG, Konz/OC-OG, Martin/LT, Massie/LT, Allen/OT-OG, Adams/LT. So we will see who falls but they need to address OL, or DL before we grab another WR, there will be some choices left in the third or 4th round worth taking.
  6. The statement that Emery made was (he was the top rated player left out of his 7 top rated players) not the #1 choice. I think they liked Ingram alot and would have taken him over McCeillin.
  7. Here is some information out there about our pick. I have read where NE and Packers would have taken him with picks. Good draft company Players in the top 13 sackers in the league last year, playing DE Allen/6-6 270/Idaho State Babin/6-3 267/Western Michigan Long/6-3 270/Virg Avril/6-3 260/Pru C. Clemons/6-3 254/Geo T. Cole/6-3 270/Cinn Our pick has similar size with some of the best pass rushers in the league last year. Some are from not major schools. DEs similar in the draft Ingram- play either DE or OLB I think the Bears may have him rated higher, but he wasnt there when we picked. Meculis- play either DE or OLB Almost identical is size and speed. Knock on him, doesnt seem to have the feel for the game to be a every down player. Jones- play either DE or OLB Is an 1and 1/2 inches taller. Coming off a major injury, stuggles to change direction, doesnt have a bust off the ball. Irvin- can play either spot 15 lbls smaller, only DE prospect faster than McCellin, raw in pass rush tech, probably take a couple of years to develope Upshaw can play either spot similar in size Perry can play eitherspot similar in size, same speed as McCellin, pass rush tech. are limited. What it amounts to, he is similar to all the DE types that we were comtemptiing taking at that spot. His positives- high motor-durability-football instincts. negitives- a tweener type(as all the rest we looked at), not very stong, a little light. Conclusion I think he can get stonger going forward and add 5 to 10 lbs. which makes him in the ballpark with all that was drafted and some of the better pass rushers in the league right now. Every draftee is considered a tweener that I listed. Production, was moved all over the field and was not used as a primer pass rusher all the time. 16.5 sacks in two years. Had 3 inters, 2 forced fumbles, I blocked kick. So he has big play ability. He had 2.5 sacks playing head to head with C. Glenn, Geo, considered one of the better line prospects. It only matters how he plays not what my opinion of him was going in. After reading more about him and Mayock had his listed as the 14th best player in the draft, I am more on board with the pick, but Bears for ever 34 thinks he is a 5th rounder, so I am guess I should dislike the pick. Oh and he is white.
  8. Jarred Allen went to Idaho, so I guess we should rule him out as being able to rush the passer. Hey I am in your corner that I would have prefered a different DE, but he is not a reach, or low viewed 5th round pick as you have stated.
  9. He was never drafted to play OLB, some projected him as that because he fits there scheme at that position. He played DE in college and because of his skill set, they played him all over the field. The way I see it, I have read NE and GB would have drafted him with there picks. I would say good company as far as teams go. Keep in mind, Mathis 6-1/245, Feeney 6-1 268,Suggs 6-3/260,Aldon Smith 6-4/260. Any of them remind you of Dan Bazum?
  10. Great pick and why? They took the they wanted, not who we wanted.
  11. That slot in the draft pays way less than Forte wants, and no mileage.
  12. Its their job to do the homework and who ever it is, it just needs to pan out.
  13. We both agree on the Oline as the biggest need and also that you take the risky players in the 6th and 7th.
  14. The only thing about him that causes concern is he is coming off of an injury season, and we have did that to much in the past, and it hasnt panned out.
  15. Would really be on board with that except Daniels /Iowa instead of Randall
  16. I would love that but dont think Perry would drop that far. So Curry or Branch could come into play. They looked hard at Stephenson/OT/Okl and that is about where he may go in the third so think that may fit better. I dont like Streeter when they might be some better choices for 4th round.I like McNutt, Toon, M. Jones better that could be around then. I think with some depth at CB, they would take one in the mid rounds. So here is mind: 1 Merculis/DE The Bears like him a lot 2 J Allen/LT Could beat out Webb in first year, moving up as prospect 3 Quick or Jenkins, both might be gone then M. Jones/Cali 4 Tandy/CB/WV The brought him in, had 4 ints. as a senior 5 Daniels/DT/Iowa can give you a pass rush 6 Nielsen/OLB/Iowa productive player with speed 7 Whitney/FS/VT speedy 6 footer.
  17. Actually he has some good thoughts, but not the TO thing. He is spot on with the Oline needs a LT thought.
  18. My nightmare is we take a player with injury history and he looks like a JA pick.
  19. I think someone drafts him from the 5th round and beyond, I just dont think we will.
  20. I have digested so much information, I need to make some comments before my hair turns completely blonde, and I become confused. I think the Bears want to draft a DE in the first round, with choices in order,Coples,Ingram,Merculis,Jones, Perry. There should be one of them there at that spot, so what will change that. If Reiff drops, I think they like him a lot and will draft him, leaving DE for the second round. Choices for second round: Branch, and Curry, I think in this situation they take Branch. The possiblity exists Jones may drop so he would be the choice. If Cox or Brockers drops, I think stong possiblity exists they grab one of them, and go back to drafting DE in second round. Now is Reiff, Brockers, Coples are all there at the same time, I have elected to playing russian roulette with my 45.
  21. Here is a poll of pro scouts on how they rate the DL Here were the results of the polls. Defensive end in a 4-3: Quinton Coples, 57 points (nine firsts); Whitney Mercilus, 35 (one first); Nick Perry, 25 (two firsts); Chandler Jones, 24 (one first); Andre Branch, 18 (one first); Melvin Ingram, 14; Vinny Curry, 12; Courtney Upshaw, 11; Bruce Irvin, five; Jared Crick, three; Tyrone Crawford and Shea McClellin two; Jack Crawford and Olivier Vernon, one. Defensive tackle in a 4-3: Michael Brockers, 59 points (seven firsts); Fletcher Cox, 48 (five firsts); Dontari Poe, 45 (two firsts); Jerel Worthy, 16; Devon Still, 15; Kendall Reyes, 14; Brandon Thompson, four; Ingram three; Coples, Mike Martin and Derek Wolfe, two. Interesting that Mercilus was the second rated DE, which means he might not be there at 19.
  22. I think with bringing in so many players kind of hard to pin point who someone will draft. Also after bringing someone in, they might not end up liking him. Interviews and workouts could work against some prospects.
  23. I dont think we had an interest in him anyways.
  24. There are some problems with this draft. these are the players available at there draft spots , I think they like better. 1-Brockers is still available and they jump on him at 19. 2-Adams/LT/OSU is still there and Jeff Allen from Ill and I think they jump on one of them at this point. 3-Quick./WR is still on the board and they go that way. 4-Prater/CB fits there system, and could compete for playing time. 5-Henry/FS/Wis good size and has potenial 6-Fugger/DE/Vandy brought him in for a look and go with him at this spot 7-D Fleming/LB/ND took a long look at him a month ago I think they get pass rushing help from the 3 tackle spot with Brockers and still added Fugger in the 6th. Got a OT in the second that everyone had a first round grade on. Quick is a great upside WR from a small school. The last 4 players add depth, with Prater being able to contribute at CB.
  25. I think there are 7 players they want that might be there at that valve, but someone could drop they thought they would never get or someone with a lesser valve that they might like. I now think even if Floyd drops they arent considering a WR with the 19 pick. I was listening to the SCORE with Hub(of which some dont like but I think he is pretty sharp) and he was saying they really like Ingram and Rieff and dont think either will be there, but would pick in a second if they fell and that WR is not considered a prime for the #19 pick.
