First we have a different guy drafting so , I think we need to see what he can do before we compare him to JAs first round choices. The fact is 50% of the first round turns out busts, so its a crap shoot, but the better lineman in the league are high first round picks. There are exceptions to that but 2 out of 3 were in the first round. Rachal at the min. does not have many expectations that come with him. He is a big, nasty attitude type that may get his short comings corrected in a fresh start with a new team.
-
We wont be asking him to start, and with him being a 3 year starter for the Bucs, maybe he has the chance to be better than Roach, we wont know until training camp, but one thing for sure, he can add more than the other backups we had last year.
-
Yah, if they banned players that smoke pot, half the league would be sitting. The problem is not being smart enough to get caught.
-
What gets me is all these scouts watch tape of the whole year, and rate these guys and then The Combine, and some off season whoas and the players arent any good any more. He would be a great 2nd round pick. Like you said he is a play maker.

Here is how I would like it to go with realistic valve at each draft pick. #1 Whitney Merculis/DE/Ill I think they like him a lot. #2 Bobby Massie/LT/Ole Miss Best LT prospect on the board and has valve at this spot. #3 A. J. Jenkins/WR/Ill Could turn into a #2 WR for us leaving Bennett at the slot position where he can excel. #4 Jaye Howard/DT/Flo Has great potential with speed, just needs to find consistincy. #5 Shawn Prater/CB/Iowa Fits best in the cover 2 scheme #6 Terrell Manning/OLB/NCS Productive speed guy. #7 Lance Mitchell/SS/Oregon Productive with some size. My unrealistic draft(they wont be there when we draft them) #1 Kuechly/LB/ BC a stud that will make any team better #2 C. Jones/DE/Sary got some upside and is moving up to the first round #3 J. Allen/OT/Ill could eventually become a starter #4 Josh Norman/CB/CC tall cb with starter potential #5 Jaye Howard/DT/Flo see above #6 Ryan Broyles/WR/Olk caught passes, passes, passes #7 Tavon Wilson/SS/Ill good size and consistent player.

There looking at anybody that can generate a pass rush and I think they will find the right one.

If your head aint staight when your in the limelight looking for a big contract, let someone else take a risk on him, there are plenty low valve LBs that were productive and be worthy of a chance. I have only seen him play in one game but AZ54 has more info than anyone on here, so I go with him. FORGET IT

I totally agree on the upgrade of the OL, but just because he wasnt a big name doesnt mean its not an upgrade. He was a high pick and actually have started a ton of games. This GM looks to do things a little differently and we wont know until training camp what everything will look like. I would say he takes C. Williams guard spot for they will move him to a OT spot,as maybe a swing tackle? I dont think he can start and upgrade the position for us.

SF fans speak of Rachal like we do of Webb...

It gives us another option, competition will hurt our below average line. -
I think this doesn't bode well for Spencer. He's making 3.5 mil, e Williams can play center, we have Louis also. One of them will be gone.

I think we can use good players at CB, but they won't be drafting one in the first , no matter how much u want them too.
-
We have a new guy drafting, so hopefully, we don't get lids anymore.
-
We had 3.5 left and signed the two cbs. I think we have 1.8 left, but with us signing some people, some others will be cut. So if its small contracts those will probably just be washs. He might be better than Roach, but at least is better than the backups.
-
I think LT is our biggest need, but we will draft a DE or DT with the first round because of the available players at those spots that should be there.
-
We just have to many holes to fill, to get any player in the front of the draft, will just cost to much. Your right about the upper part of the draft always for star type players.
-
From the stuff I have been reading, there is a chance he wont even be drafted. Lovie is a speed guy, so if we get some one late rounds, they will be able to run.
-
That is a good list other than Dennard wont be a 2nd round pick.
-
McShay is a good talker but if you look at players he rates high, he misses just as many as he hits. I would take Kirkpatrick over Gilmore, but its a mute point, we wont be picking a CB in the first round.

The New York Giants seem to draft DL every year and it has turned out well for them. If the BPA is a DT, we need to take him. I would prefer Cox but it aint my job, so this is just Bear talk.
-
I don't care what positions we draft as long as the first four picks turn out good players, to many weak spots .
-
Draft is suppose to be his. Stength, no matter how it looks from this side , it just has to be right later.
-
We have to many holes to fill, giving up what u would have to to get to those spots ain't worth it . To me maybe you had a shot at Kahil, or maybe coples, at 12 who be considered, but probably to expensive.
-
You and I are big on the OL needing to be upgraded, I just dont feel as confident in C. Williams as a good player. You have already given me a researched history of why he isnt our LT, I just think , he isnt because he just isnt much good enough. I think if the draft goes wrong and we dont get a high level OT then we have to give hm a shot, but we need options if he fails.(again)
-
Cox would be a good valve and need for us. I think one of the top players will drop, the question will be which one. I think with Tannerhill will be taken early so that gives us one more shot at one of our needs. Do you think we would consider Brockers if he drops as a DT that fits our scheme.
