In 2012 I will give you he was the team defensive leader but his stats were far from great. He had a few big plays, 1 int.,2 FFs, and 2 FRs. but he was ranked 29th in the league against the run for inside LBs, that doesnt not lead me to say he was special. He didnt play in 2013 and the only team interested in him were the Bears. There were giving a former hero a chance to retire a Bear and the whiny little bitch was insulted by a min. deal. You cant say he would have played well, that didnt happen. Injuries took there toll on my favorite player for many years and cant sit there and say he was great looking threw rose colored glasses. I could see him fade and so did everybody GMs in league. The NFL is a meat market if they thought he could play, someone would have offered him a contract. That happens to be the fact, you cant discount.

We will have to see if he can absorb the complexity of the NFL LB position. It's up in the air whether he can or not.

I think the plans were in place, but this is what he wanted so they accommodated him.I think they didnt want to deal with a distaction thru the year with his contract unsettled so they did the right thing and did it now.

Your right about Emery, time will tell if he is good at his job but he sure goes after weaknesses with a bang. First he addressed WR, then TE,. OL and now DL. I dont think he can accomplish all our needs in one offseason. He still needs more work on the S position and figure out what we got for LBers but the DL will be huge.

As far as rookies it will be Fuller or on the outside Vereen. They will both get the most opportunities to shine.

Presuming Vereen and Mundy are going to be good is a stretch. They can be better than last year and still not be considered good. Bostics future is in Briggs spot and I see him going there sometime this year and in the future.

No way Briggs gets big money, already on the downslide. They will give him a Tillman offer. a one year medium priced deal.

Wilson is the logical choice,but how many chances will he get when you have Marshall,Jeffery,Bennett and Forte on the team? I think he does ok, but sneaky think Williams does great as a KRer.

With all the new bodies on the club, I am curious who everybody thinks will have a breakout year that was already on the team. My choice will be Cris Williams-We are in dire need of a new return man and I think he carries that torch. He has speed to burn, he will also contribute at WR as our 5th wideout. With all the new players, he will find a place to succeed.

I am not defending Tucker, but I guess I am. He was given a defense that was Lovies and said to accept it. It had aging stars and not much depth. The worse happens Tillman, Briggs,Melton, Collins,DJ Williams, K Haden all get hurt. They sign Sedric Ellis and he retires. Urlacher loses his effectiveness and doesnt get signed. Julius Peppers hits the skids and shows up for only a few games. New rookies play like crap. He didnt have a lot going for him last year but after further review Emery decides to fix it. Brings in coaches , and new players. I dont know if we will be a top 10 defense but we will be tons better than last year.

Thats is spot on what scouts think of him, to play WLB or situational pass rusher.

I heard two football scouts interviewed on the radio, and his problem is with ball recognition. Appears hard to learn nuisances of defenses. Stud physically but lacks in football sense.

I wonder what the deal is with Sutton? I would suspect the first round is the place where it could take some time, 3rd round should be rollings in.

I think Cris Williams get his spot on the roster, the more I read about Jones the more I understand why he didnt get drafted. I think the possibility exists he doesnt make the squad.

I think we definitely get better with our offense. This will be a stud O for the next few years. The second year always shows the most growth in a new system. Our Oline will be better and so goes the offense. We now have in place some depth at positions other than TE and being they didnt draft one that must mean Onobun is ready to take a step.

Charles will get more points that Forte, so just take Charles and go from there.

The point was we knew the S prospects up close and personal and choose Fuller instead. If Emery thought he is a better player than the two Ss that is what he has to go with.
