  1. I as you thought LT was our most needed position, and we didnt get anything done there, so now we can only hope for the best. Webb hasnt made any progress in two years, and if Carmi stays healthy, I see the possiblity him moving to the left. The middle of the line will be ok with the competition but OT still could be big problem.
  2. He is the same size as Arvil, Babin,Cris Long,Clemons, and T. Cole, all in the top 13 pass rushers in the league last year that played the true DE position. He is big enough, but needs to get stronger, and I think we can make him that.
  3. When Tice was head coach, he only had a true fullback on his roster for 1 out of the 4 years. I see Clutts not being around and Evan being the hybrid H back/TE and rolling with that.
  4. The more you read about this kid, the more you have to get excited to actually be getting a football player with speed.
  5. I look at it the same way you do, and find the fact we have very little options if it falls apart.
  6. You cant piece meal the season, those 5 games the line was ok , not good, not great, and the rest of the time below average. In the last two seasons Webb has not made any progress, look at his stats.Penalties, sacks, not good. C. Williams was average, but not saying much for a first round LT, Louis wasnt good as a RT, we can have improvement just by staying healthy, but there is no guarantee this line will turn in to a good unit, and thats where the problem comes, we dont have any options if it doenst improve. We added a couple of pieces and I think the middle of the line will be ok, its the OTs where the problem will lie. If Carmini doesnt stay heathly, and I am hoping he does, it throws everything into a difficult state. I assume they go with Webb, and C. Williams becomes our swing tackle, there both question marks and we can only hope for the best. I dont want them to be bad, but you cant ignore the tape and propects of great improvement. Teams can go to the SB with a bad line, but you have to have so many things fall rigjht for you, it is hard to trust that to happen. We have add more playmakers but they still have to translate that on to the field and we can all have hope it jells properly. I am not a soothsayer, just trying to be realistic with our expectations.
  7. I would have minded that pick over a CB that probably wont make the 53 man roster.
  8. I wouldnt have any problem with AA, but after the Bears let him go, I think maybe the future would be better giving J. Miller a shot at rotation, there will be time to pick up a vet if things go bad in training camp.
  9. Im a glass half full guy, but top 3 is living in fatasyland. NO will have some trouble but GB,NE,Phil,Det, Giants aint going away. I would say top 10 would be great, but I fear there is something else in your koolaid.
  10. Since the draft didnt do anything for us there still are some veterans out there. Hanyesworth-a worth ethic problem, but if fire lit under his ass, as a NT you slide Paea over to 3 tech, as I remember when drafted he was quick enough to play there. Franklin-older vet that would only be a NT, see first note Bernard-older vet that would only be a NT, see first note J. Miller- on the roster, not yet given the chance, has interesting speed Cameron-UFA signing that probably wont make the roster Sign A Carter and move Ildonije to DT, only if McClellin pans out Not a lot of choices, unless others DL are dropped as the draftees players fill there rolls
  11. I agree that we had other needs before TE, but Emery drafted him, so he is here, lets see what he's got. It is a risk as all draftees are, but it aint my paycheck if he fails, I'm all in.
  12. I was being Sarcastic, I personally dont think he is special, but with a little growth, Evan R. might become a better TE than Davis.
  13. I looked up everything I could fine on Brown and his future looks up for him. On different websites, he was rated 102,95,182,and 105 best player in the draft. Being a 3rd to 4th round grade on most websites, I would have to kinda include him as a potential player even thou a UFA. His knock is lack of elite competition and needs to be stronger. He looked good at Senior Bowl against better competition, and I know we can get him stronger, so we may have added some OL help.
  14. I ve been a Bears fan since Dick Butkus and Gale Sayers got me interested in football. My handle comes from being a Scorpio-stinger?
  15. Matt Bowen had an article on him in the NFP and I am reading he had a 4th round grade, so it wasnt a reach. AND we do need a pass catching TE, especially if the great Kellen Davis doent pan out. His comparisions to Hernnadaz is because he is the same size and speed. With you have to understand is everybody not in the top 10 players in the draft have question marks about them, later rounds have more the deeper you get. Go back and read about Brady drafted in the 6th round, he did to, he turned out OK.
  16. How about a suprize, with Carimi, Rachel,Garza,Louis, C. Williams. I know it sounds stupid, but it may be our best option.
  17. If everything works out right we have Marshall,Jeffery,Bennett,Hester, Thomas, and Weems and I think that Summers/UFA sounds interesting. Then we might have a pass catching TE in Evan R. and I would have to say with Forte, Bush, we might have something happening in the Offensive Firepower category . We move C. Williams to LT or swing tackle, with the addition of Rachel, we might be ok at OL, at least up the middle, and we good to go. Can you imagine a red zone offense with Davis , Jeffery, and Marshall with Forte to throw to, you got something going.
  18. To get a 3th round grade on a UFA, at least we can say, (we kinda addressed the OL)
  19. What makes it interesting is he has a plan and pick what he thought was best for the team, not what was expected. He's not done and we have to see how everthing translates on the field, but have to say he has balls to do his thing.
  20. Thats a good catch, I was trying to be clever and an attempt at humor at the same time.
  21. None of us on here are pro scouts or work for a NFL team so we have to take our opinions as little valve in the scheme of things. The draft always intrigues me and spend a lot of time checking out draft sites, mock drafts, ect. and would have made different choices at every point of the draft, but it is like a hobby for me and not my job. I have liked what Emery has done in FAgency and will have to give him the benefit of the doubt and wait and see how this draft class turns out. McCellin-I as well as others seen him in a OLB spot but that doenst mean he cant play DE in a down position, What I like, his name is easy to spell, football instincts, high motor, speed, football skills. A lot to like as a football player. It will be interesting to see how this pans out. Jeffery- I liked other WRs better but after reading more about him, I can see him becoming a #1 WR eventually. He can catch the ball and has great skill set where this could be the best pick of our draft. It is all up to his work ethic and what we can get out of him. Hardin-He has everything going for him to be a impact player at this level but his injury history is of concern. As a third rounder, if healthy could be a real steal. Rodriguez- If Emery has some kind of vision, this pick could turn into some kind of weapon. You send Marshall, and Jeffery down field, with Bennett crossing the middle, and have Evan hitting the seam, I can see big things coming from him. At just under 6-2 that sounds short for a TE but if he was considered a WR that would be considered good height, but his skill set is interesting. Frey- Might be able to stick but gives competition to the position, at best a STs player McCoy- Hard to read what valve you get out of these late round picks. We still have UFAs to deal with and another run of NFL players that will be dropped due to new draftees, so his work isnt done yet. The only thing that bothers me is not addressing the OLine, so his first draft will be graded on how these players contribue and what Tice does with the OLine and I can say, on paper we are a much better team going forward.
  22. It is nice to read some positive ideas after spending a few days with this sorry group.
  23. From the outside the draft looks like a C-, but what I like is it looks like he has a plan, and that was to get some weapons for Cutler and has done that with the offseason and draft. I didnt like that we didnt address the OLine, but the picks were suprizing and interesting. As we know we cant grade this draft for a couple of years, but am interested in how better our team can be going forward. Emery is suppose to be a draft guru so I will have to say, I think he show balls for the moves he has made.
  24. I agree with some of your concerns, but statements like a "fifth round pick" are just lame.
  25. I read good things and bad things, so we will have to see how this plays out.
